It is interesting to note the end of Childe's story quest, since Teucer mentions that Childe sent his family a letter mentioning the Traveler, and how he wishes he could travel with them instead of being in the Fatui sometimes. That could create a tipping point in the future, maybe the Traveler realizes what's happening to Childe and offers him the choice to join them as a last ditch attempt to stop him?

Also he pretty much has the mentality if a child(e) soldier.

On a purely psychological analysis I think a key element here to understand is Tartaglia fully represents the *wounded child* archetype. What's important to understand here is that A LOT of villians/anti-heros are written with such a back-story. Tragically showing that it is not just what underlies their power and motivation but also what limits them from every changing. Because when you aquire great power very little can force you to grow emotionally. Consider the character Alucard from Hellsing as an example. The archetype makes for a very dangerous individual and almost certainly one that ends in tragedy. Also sometimes I think people skim his backstory without taking pause to consider what it truly means. If a young child was running for his life from wolves and fell into a crevasse so deep it lead to the Abyss they wouldn't be unscathed. So Skirk was perhaps the first Abyssal resident to find Tartaglia or he would most certainly have died barely surviving the fall. An injured child who couldn't fight off wolves wouldn't survive the Abyss. He was untrained in combat and injured. Skirk's 3 month boot camp was probably the most intense battering experience of his life. I'm pretty sure Childe makes some comment about the next time he fights her he hopes he can get her to fight with both hands. Suffice it to say we know nothing about Skirk beyond this or what motivated her to take Childe on as an apprentice but the mere thought of Foul-Legacy Childe not even being capable of forcing her to take him seriously just seems so incredulous to not go unmentioned.

What I liked about the Labyrinth Warriors events was Childe had to pretend to be an adventurer, which is something he wrote to Teucer in his letter about giving up his job and travelling with the MC. I feel that kind of event may sway his ideas in wanting to stay loyal to the Tsaritsa, only for things to escalate in the last chapter.

His story is one of the best and well written, bravo miHoYo 👍🏼

You know hearing you describe Childe reminds me of......jesus like half the honkai cast, I start to get the feeling Mihoyo wrote him as well as he is because they had like 6 previous characters just like him.

I feel like at the end of Natlan (place we go before Snezhnaya) something will happen to his family and 'Ajax' will be no more because of that along with his damaged psyche Childe will remain until he eventually breaks and dies at the end of Snezhnaya's last chapter

Ajax seriously has the best lore of all charactes followed by Xiao and Beidou, the contrast between his past/present/future and great to analyze, I hate the community has given him so bad service with all the complains about his reruns

Childe has to be one of my favorite if not my favorite character in genshin, he is not just a weapon but nothing more but a blind puppet with the sole purpose of following the "orders" of the one's pulling the strings with no question and without a second though, these "orders" being acts of combat on the battle field, like how a swordsmen "orders" his sword to cut the opponent's into pieces

If the Fatui were to threaten his family, I bet Tartaglia would not enjoy that at all. Tho if they were being held as hostages to control The Tsaritza’s weapon of war, I feel that he would not have much of a choice, and would continue to serve the interests of the Fatui and Snezhnaya.

Childe(Tartaglia) seems to be the perfect anti hero in Genshin Impact.I don't know if that's makes any sense but it's how I felt about him.

Even tho he has brought harm to Liyue I can't help but feel bad for him. When I got Childe during his recent re run (Cuz I wanted my husbando lol😂) the first thing I did was look at his eyes. There's no light in his eyes even tho I knew about it. It's like he has accepted his fate being used as a weapon, as a "thing" and not human. There are indeed lots of death flags around him, because of all the lores and predictions about the storyline that I've researched on, if not now maybe in the future he'll play a very huge role in the rebellion. I know it's wishful thinking for an imaginary character but I really wish he could leave the Fatui and join the traveller going on adventure together like he mentioned in his letter for Teucer😭✋🏻

I wonder why he didn’t got a pyro vision instead of a hydro one, maybe because pyro and electro would be annoying as hell since the elemental reaction creates a literal explosion (that somehow does less damage than increasing or decreasing body temperature and playing firefighter) it might be because his constellation is a Narwhal, but I think he deserves a pyro vision his constellation could remain the same however an alternative to his constellation could be a hydra. Also I believe he said that he was kind of reluctant to unleash Osial because it would get the weak involved in all of the chaos.

Tartaglia's story really has some simmilarities to Kuma from One Piece. In One Piece we can see Kuma lose his Control over him self more and more, and at the time he became a complete robot he had his "creator" program one task in his system ( protection of the Strawhat ship). after that he became a slave for the rich, being a sort of vehicle. Maybe we see something like that with Childe too, where his last action as a human is either to protect his family from a threat ( fatui, monster, god etc) or help the traveler in a specific way ( audience with the tsaritsa, fighting a god or a monster etc). also the Ajax storyline you mentioned seems like an interesting route too can could be tied with my own predictions.

But if something happens to Toucer imma clear out my map out of fatuis daily 🥺 Jokes aside, he is one of the best written characters in genshin (my opinion) also, u have to take in account that Shezhnaya is based on Russia, and slavic people are loyal to the bone to their nation and family and seeing that he wants to serve both the best way he can is heartbreaking ngl especially after this new event.. I think he will probably die once we get to Snezhnaya and it will be hard to watch because as Aster said, he will meet us many more times on our journey…

I know it’s 100% different, but all I can think of is in HI3 when Kiana thinks she saves her mom but it’s all an illusion. The grief gets to her and allows the HotV to take control. Granted, they’re both very different characters, but I could totally see him losing his family and then losing himself

Good analysis! you didn't stick with the he is a genocide that only kills, or the he's kind look at the love for his family.. Tartaglia is a pretty grey character.. is not pure evil, but he's not hesitate to kill people either.. but the fact that he prefers a fair combat over killing from behind says something about his noble maind. Also the fact that he respect his opponents, someone cold-hearted wouldn't care, just kill. For me he doesn't seem loyal to the fatui or la Zaritsa, he seems loyal to his hunger for fight and challenges.. if the fatui didn't provide him with them, idk if he would be following his orders. As he said "every harbinger has his own reasons to be with the fatui"

Or on the other side of the coin, Ajax dies in front of his family and Tuecer takes his delusion, killing the person who dealt the final blow (and injuring himself greatly). Idk, just two storylines that could happen. But we also have to see Skirk, so maybe she could save her best student in a fight against the Tsarista

I believe Childe will appear in all nations of Teyvat as we play the game, and something might happen to him when we finally arrive in Snezhnaya. Whether he dies by Traveler's or their sibling's hand, the Tsaritsa (he betrays them for the Traveler uwu), or the Abyss, idk. But I'm sure he has a great (and tragic) role to play in the endgame, based on how Mihoyo treats him.
