Who is DC Comics "The Question?" Unknown & Dangerously Unstable

This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the DC Comics character "The Question." From the life of a tough genius journalist of Hub City named Charles Victor Szasz that resists the criminal underworld while wearing a prototype Pseudoderm on his face to protect his identity, being the second best detective on Earth after Batman, a Gotham City detective named Renee Montoya having a stint as an elusive female "The Question", the newest iteration of the character having immortality and a vast array of powerful magical abilities while alongside his Trinity of Sin teammates Pandora and Phantom Stranger, to his erratic mind consistently being a threat to his enemies and allies alike; Let's take a look at this mysterious DC Comics anti-hero, and the most dangerous man with no face or identity. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic book and science fiction characters.

he beat up a guy (I think in a Santa costume) while christmas caroling, fa la la la la la la la la. Easy 10 for me lol let alone brave and the bold/justice league dealing with guys bigger and badder than he is. Street level gadget free Batman except for ye ole fisticuffs. 1:03 lol Vic Sage, New Sage, better than New Question lol (Montoya Question on super pill drugs was a fitting end for injustice)

The Question is high on my list for a live action adaptation. A few other underrated characters I would love to see on film are; Jason Blood/Etrigan, Zatanna, and Deadman.

To this day I still think the question is the single most slept on character. He’s so mysterious,badass, and has storylines that blow your mind like Detective Comics. He’s like the merge between Batman and Rorschach. I first got wind of this character when i was little on justice league than would later see him in Batman Brave and The Bold. Literally just makes every story he’s in so much better. He’s like the comic equivalent to getting a feature from Sean Paul. 😂

They definitely need to do him on film. Apparently there were plans to a few years ago but Watchmen had come out in 2009 and obviously the question shares a lot of similarities with Rorschach. I know they do batman a lot but I kinda wanna see a batman and question team up on film, like a purely detective style film.

Alan Moore was gonna use The Question in watchmen but for reasons he couldn't use it, so he just ended up making his own character (Rorschach) based on The Question. Same with Doctor Manhattan being inspired by Captain Atom because he was originally going to use Captain Atom.

@@OGP2293 maybe not a Nzy but its likely he was R but thats not as apparent as his mental instability, though not like the kkk and would likely view them as well terroristic like any other criminal organization. (saddly the HBO series never really looked into this further and just left it in the "kkk appropriated his image", not even really one line that said "Roschach maybe crazy and bigoted but not that crazy and twisted" or "well he was insane so maybe he really liked these guys.")

I really love the question as a character. I know people who hate on him because he's not superpowered or a Mary Sue or a Gary stew even though it's supposed to be say that they don't like those kind of characters yet they always reference them.... I enjoy characters that don't have too many powers or too many gadgets don't get me wrong I love me some Batman but there's just something about an underdog.

I will admit it, I am one of those individual that when I think of the Question I think of his original iteration. This new version of the Questions does make me ask (see what I did there...lol), is he really the character he himself doing what the Spectre does; using human host, in this case of course using Victor Szasz. DC comics is doing a lot of changes right now, I really wonder where they are going with great characters like these, I guess you would say now that is the Question (again see what I did there...lol). As always my brother New Sage fantastic narration, video and content, big thumbs up. Now, I presume your grade is related to the current, more mystical, version of The Question and not his original incarnation. I actually enjoyed it when Renee Montoya took over the role, which might have been the best development from the New 52 if they didn't reverse it almost immediately and returned Vic Sage to the role. A pity - she could have really developed into a very intriguing character. This current version? I'm not sure what I think about him. I think DC just changed too much here. The original Question, of course, was a simplified version of Steve Ditko's Mr A. Now, what difference between him and the Phantom Stranger except that The Question doesn't have a face? And what happened to Renee in the new era anyway?

Sup, Sage! Mysterious, badass and a character who can do more with less from his OP powers. Question is one hell of character all around! Dude kinda reminds of the protagonist that'll be featured in "The Midknight Sun", a novel waiting to be written like so many others, but first the Return Trilogy must be finished. Two months, Sage! In just two months the first Return will be done, ready to be put through wringer of heavy editing and what not until ready to be put on shelves! 'Course I have different edition for it, the collectors edition planed to be releases as well. When placed together, the collectors editions will form the Alpha symbol, and in each novel will be the concept art of characters, items and locations, along with their respected bios that'll can all be found in the Nexus Gallery--a site that features these works of art and bios of them that'll be updated with each new novel that is apart of the Nexus Chronicle's over arching story line shared by all these independent yet connected stories.

Just to be clear for everyone in the comments, Alan Moore's inspiration for Rorschach was the Charlton Comics version of the Question as envisioned by Steve Ditko during his "objectivism" phase during the late 60's, early 70's. Since Denny O'Neil's legendary run in 1987, the character has fluctuated in philosophical stance depending on the writer, but maintains a conspiratorial mindset and distrust of authority. That being said, the only similarities that can be drawn between the two characters now are mostly superficial. The Question is everything that Rorschach could never be. This isn't an opinion... It's a certified fact.
