This is a wonderful video, a story well told about an amazing man. My own connection with George and Te Rapunga comes through my friendship with Sharie Farrell, who lived and sailed with George during his time on the West Coast of Canada. As the biographer of Allen and Sharie Farrell (boatbuilders who completed 46 wooden boats by hand, without power tools, and sailed across the Pacific to Hawaii and Fiji) and as a friend of Dibbern's biographer Erika Grundmann, I have been following George's story for two decades. I have read Quest, and interviewed Sharie, who typed the manuscript for that book, about her time with George and Eileen. In addition, I now hold a copy of George's second, unpublished book, Ship Without Port. So it is quite amazing and hear that Te Rapunga still exists and may be restored to sail again. I had the great luck to own and sail on a small schooner built by the Farrells for fourteen years. I am currently archiving my materials about the Farrells for donation to a local museum.
