I got to sing with Jester Hairston in 1969 in our high school. It was wonderful! Everyone admired him and his music.

Jester Hairston was an American Treasure. Got to sing with him in Salt Lake City in 1994.

Why do I get so emotional when I see videos or photographs of older folks from bygone eras? He was born in 1901. Why does my heart ache and yearn to not just know about him, but to actually know him and all the stories of his childhood and youth?
