info about the pay: South Korea has a special law that provides royalties to singers too. not just composers/producers/lyricists. other countries dont have that law like Thailand. non korean kpop artists like Lisa, Jackson (Hongkong), Bam Bam(Thailand) and Mark(US-Taiwan) of GOT7 Lay of EXO from China and others dont get royalties as singers but if they participate in the song production, they still do. sometimes, companies compensate the difference by allowing them more opportunities in their home country. in Lisa's case, she's been modeling for Nonagon since she was a trainee. i think SK cant extend it to non Koreans bec the royalties for singers are managed by KOMCA(korean music copyright association). it's a shame but other countries should have royalties for singers too. add: like what Sorn said, YG (lisa's company) sat her down and explained the situation. it's not like companies are purposefully discriminating foreigners (it happens but not in this case).

She's resilient and endured all racist remarks at her when she was still new in korea and not yet a part of blackpink, though even today she still gets racist remarks. She forced herself to learn Korean fast even everyone in YG back in the day are not allowed to talk to her in english to speed up her korean learning process in a foreign country where she has no friends yet.
