James, there's a trick for befriending Greg. Get the radio that you can place in your inventory (it's the one you can buy from the computer under gifts). Place it on the lawn outside his trailer, and turn on pop music. Greg likes pop music, he will have a playful mood when he's near it instead of enraged. It works really well until it rains.

Vlad's mausoleum and the new mermaid entrance are so freaking cool!

Here's my imagined context for this let's play: Semaj, our protagonist, is bouncing around, unsure of what to do with his life. He knows he wants to help people, so it's off to Sulani to try out island conservation. While there he meets Nalani and instantly falls in love, but while pursing her he starts to hear things about sims who are 'different'. He starts asking questions, and when he finally earns her trust Nalani let's him in on the secret. Not only mermaids, but all the 'creatures' you thought were just fantasy are real, if you know where to look. She had to lie, because it's not just about her. It's too dangerous for them to live openly among normal sims. So Semaj immediately starts reading all the books he can find about the occult in order to be a supportive boyfriend, only all the books are about vampires. After finishing them he's like "hey, that sounds like that guy Vlad that I know. I wonder if he's lonely living forever. I wonder if he wishes he had 18 adopted children in another life." So he goes to fetch Vlad like "why not come hang out with us for a while? You don't have to live alone in this creepy mansion." It's then that Semaj realizes, this is what he wants to do with his life. He wants to make a community for occult sims. So he spontaneously proposes (hehe) his plan to Nalani "be my wife~ and let's start a family, a beautiful occult family." (Meanwhile Lily is watching like .. should I tell him he lives in werewolf town?) Hilarity and adventures then ensue as Semaj tries to manage and coordinate different occults and their needs while not being one himself Tl;dr - empathetic Semaj and found family

Snodgrass HAS to have a wizard tower! It's perfectly cliche. And maybe have her do the Medium skill stuff?

The alien definitly needs a floating round ufo room, maaaaybe with a ladder lol. I really like this challenge and its hectic chaotic sims stuff happening all around.

The haunted house totally makes sense. You know, with Vlad bringing a small band of dead bodies with him and starting a mini graveyard.

You should consider cutting the plumbite on a shape on the crystal table, so you can put it around your sims and all of their needs will fill up simultaneously...

I can't explain it, but describing this build as an "Occult theme park" sparked joy and made me love it more. 😂

For the spell caster, you could change that top room. It used to be the human sims bedroom, but now he sleeps in the grotto with nalani.

The Avant-garde on the pipe organ is pretty bad, but I kind of like the other ones. You could add a door and lock it for everyone but Vlad and then he'll fly in. I think Ms. Snodgrass should do the Medium skill and summon Bonehilda, since Spellcasters learn that skill faster.

I absolutely adore the idea of a brother sister dynamic between vlad and nalani. That little bit was adorable.

I LOVE that you use the money to build them a nice room to live in when they join the family. it's so nice to see fun builds like this!

I think each member should contribute in paying the bills. It depends on the member how to earn the money. Like Vlad could easily take money from his vault, Nalani could sell stuff or something. But I think this will add more stress to James 😅

What I learned from this is always wash your hands after using the toilet or you will get bit by a vampire and frozen by your co-worker

Servo building tip- craft the gemstone that increases your needs and put it on the robotics station, then they can continuously craft stuff without having to take a break for their needs. I was able to build my servo quick!

Vlad can gain vampire energy by doing dark meditation!

Just a reminder that you can click on a vampire sim and, under the "vampire" options, have them "dark meditate" to restore vampire energy if they have anything less than full. Their vampire energy also doesn't go down while they're actively meditating, meaning it will make them immune to the sun for a few seconds. It's also way faster than sleeping/hibernating.

This was great! having the other sims help out would be good for getting the bills paid. people are suggesting jewelry selling, Vlad isn't very busy so it make sense he does it. Or you suggested selling all the metals and crystals you get from work, you could make more if you turned them into jewelry

James the SIXAM fly trap plant is named llike the VENUS fly trap. Both "planet" names. It isn't from Sixam, it came with the vampire pack.

I'd love if your spellcaster had a beautiful floating tower either attached but looking impossible or just floating right next to the other tower, she should make potions and learn copy pasto, and repairio, vlad should take up painting, or i suppose he could write tunes/dongs on the organ, but tgats really a slow way to get money 😮and gemology, Nalani has her robotics and simage has gardening and science, although it seems he might need a creative skill as well (to help prevent burnout). It seems everyone needs to work on nectar making. All that nectar they make while they're skilling up can be perfected and copy pastod by the spell caster. This js such a fun goofy challenge.

I could be wrong, but I think the reason why you couldn't add the spell caster to your household was because it was a "holiday"- Talk Like a Pirate day. I don't think you can have Sims join your household during a holiday.

Spellcasters learn the Meium skill more quickly so that could be her task, to get Bonehilda but if Semaj must be involved for ot to count. Just have him join her in the seance. I also say have someone do gemology to take advantage of all the crystal boosts.

At level 4, Vampires, Werewolves, and Spellcasters can make their own type of nectar. Plasma Nectar (Vampires) = 3 Plasma Fruit Valerian Nectar (Spellcasters) = 3 Valerian Root Moonpetal Nectar (Werewolves) = 3 Moonpetal

Maybe there's need for a bigger lot later on, also gives more terrain freedom

There is a crystal that helps with burnout but also crystals could be a potential money maker to help pay the bills

Wolfsbane also grows in Moonwood Mill! And vampires can do a dark meditation to recharge their vampire energy

If the bills are so high, you should have each occult pay rent...the more occult the less rent, if you wanted Semaj to do it all himself...but if they come with money and store it in the vault....

I like the tower idea for the spellcaster.. also for the plants, a small greenhouse with an outside garden bit as well for patchy would be fun and either a small room underneath or to the side for the nectar maker and the bar =) love the new entrance for the grotto!

How come you don't just have Vlad do dark meditation to get his power recharged? Just curious... Love the different challenges you do!

I'm doing this challenge and I love it! My current household is one sim, one vampire, one spellcaster and one ghost. I created the ghost first by murdering the welcome wagon with puffer fish. Of course that is normal and acceptable behaviour in the sims! I love that my sims are a solid team. My main man needed 2 elements to invent a device and only had one. Step in my spellcaster sim with her copy-pasto spell! We need lots of robot parts to work towards my servo. My ghost sim doesn't mind being dazed from the robot workstation and is confifent that it can't kill her any more dead than she already is! My vampire spends the hours that other people sleep just programming. I'm a programmer and totally can relate.

With MCCC when you open that panel on a sim, it will usually say at the top where that sim lives, so James, you can spare yourself the trouble of trying to find them in the manage world panel

For adding a ghost to the lot, I know you have "kill a sim" as the requirement, but I think it would be fun if you also had to max the medium skill! It would make sense, too - having to be a medium in order to add a ghost into the family. And maybe have to befriend Grim, as well... Re: Snodgrass "Estate": I love the idea of a tower for her! Make it look uber magical, reminiscent of Column's house. Also, don't forget you can also do dark meditation (or whatever it's called) to replenish a vampire's energy!

vampire powers fail more often when the sun is up; better to do that indoors until you've got vlad enough points to upgrade his abilities. there is a shower in the magic realm: under the first set of stairs heading down, in the room L Faba likes to hang out in. a tower for bailey snodgrass (i love that name) would be cool! maybe on top of the red bit you built?
