Theres a good video with him by numberphile. Jim is fiercely private and hasn't given out any adivice as such, especially financial (which is understandable, he is an absolute quant), but his principal as far as I know is "Hire the best, and put them in a environment with highest amount of freedom to try and test things"

You should do one on Kramer from Mad Money. Also there's several hedge fund managers that obtained obscene returns for extended periods of time, you should do investor profiles on some of them too. I'm sure you'd find many people interested in learning about these people. Especially those that have books/memoirs that go over their personal experiences and investing philosophies

I read the book.. there are a handful of basic principles that are sound (also common)... the rest are literally only applicable if you are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company... Dalio repeats the book is for CEOs and Couch Potatoes but literally some principles address how to structure your HR department... how many couch potatoes have the power to design the HR dept of their own companies? Also, the entire book is "I do x, I am successful, ergo x is an elemental principle for success"....

Hi TPB; Wouldn’t it be self eradicating to share investment strategy because it now changes the ‘investment meta’ if enough people follow it? Or would you argue that sharing a strategy as a popular person would give more people the idea about the same ‘stocks’ that the sharing person probably already holds?

Fund managers ask way too high fees. Invest in a few low cost, globally diversified ETFs and you'll do better than almost all funds over the long run, after costs.

This is exactly why most people like you and the mainstream clickbait media doesn't know anything about hedge funds. Hedge funds don't compete with the market. Their objective is to remove every sort of correlation from the main stream media. Do you really think Ray Dalio doesn't know how to track a fkin Index? Don't look at hedge fund from your perspective. You aren't the one investing in it hence you can't comprehend what's going on and how they provide value to its members and associates. Most of the people investing in hedge funds already have a well diversified portfolio. They invest in hedge fund to get "hedged". Hedge funds don't go after relative returns. This whole narrative of a hedge fund underperforming the SPY shows illiteracy of journalists and people. Hedge funds CEOs are paid more than Google, Microsoft's CEO. Do you think the members and investors are stupid to allow this to happen IF the fund isn't providing value to them? Again, dont look at hedge fund from your perspective. For a normal investor, ETFs are probably the best. You invest in hedge funds AFTER you are fully diversified in equities.

Investment management companies create index funds. The big 3 are Vanguard, BlackRock, and State Street. They create these ETFs and then there is a share creation/redemption mechanism in order to ensure that the Net Asset Value (the value of the underlying stocks in the index) and the ETF price are roughly the same. If you have any other questions you can let me know
