Seeing people younger than me being worried about their houses burning and praying and crying for the safety of their family members is gut wrenching. Healing from the years of mistrust and generational trauma would be definitely a big challenge, not only for the government, courts, civil officers but for the entire humanity. Being a normal citizen and having nothing in the power to do and say anything regarding the matter is even more painful as neither am I a resident nor a victim of the crimes that has happened. Wow, this is the first time I heard Mohak's voice tremble with anger when he was describing the way Manipur was let down by all the pillars of the Indian Government. I think he has reached his limit of patience due to the obscene way Manipur has been treated by all the pillars of our Indian Society at large. On a side note, once the Hon'ble Home Minister's mediation didn't give full results, the Hon'ble Prime Minister should have made a personal visit, just because Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a powerful rallying symbol. In situations like this, optics matter a lot. If the Hon'ble Prime Minister cancels an international trip and visits Manipur, people will get a positive feeling that the central govt considers them as important enough, that there might be a chance of people listening to him. The Prime Minister himself coming down to such a violent conflict zone and personally attempting to mediate is always a powerful move that would inspire people to listen, especially when the Prime Minister has an image as great as our Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As a man I am shameful on the sufferings inflicted by men on the physically weaker section. I am ashamed beyond words. On a different note, when the ruler mints votes by religion and castesim, this only gives courage for these kinds of atrocities to be enacted by these hardliners.

When Nirbhaya case happened, PM Manmohan singh addressed the Nation saying he assure the laws will be strengthened, he did not compare any BJP ruled state at that time to make the present atrocity appear any small in Magnitude. He made all possible arrangements for Nirbhayas treatment in Singapore. He was there at the Airport to receive her body after her unfortunate death. And it was definitely his responsibility towards the Fellow Citizens. This was also A Prime Minister.

I miss the year 2007. I had two friends from the northeast. One was Kuki and the other Meiti. We used to meet up often in the evenings in our college (FC), Pune and jam our hearts out to Indie rock. There was so much exchange of ideas, so much learning, discovering new songs and later some cold coffee. Miss my buddies. I hope this chaos settles and peace prevails.

We had so much trust on Modiji's leadership but the silence of Modiji for so long on Manipur's violence question ourselves.

I recently watched many videos on the Manipur violence and conflict between the ethnic groups. All the KZfaq creators have put in serious effort to study the situation and we really appreciate it and one suggestion from my side is that all the serious creators can discuss this situation on a single forum and try to find the solution for it and present it to the government which can be very helpful to unite our country and help Manipur.

I belong to Meitei Community. My House was burnt down by Kuki militants in the Kuki majority area during the Manipur violence and just rebuilding it won't make it a home. Thank you speaking up Mohak. Hope the peace and harmony regain in Manipur and we get the justice we deserve.

Reasons of this violence: 1) war on drugs campaign was started by the government to destroy the Poppy cultivation in the State illegally. Most of the cultivation happened in the Kuki dominated areas. They earned in terms of crores from drugs business and used the money to buy sophisticated weapons from China and smuggled to Manipur via Myanmar. The weapons were used in this current war. The kukis were angry in the state government because they tried to destroy their drugs business. 2) Eviction drive happened by the government against the land encroachers. The government evicted villages settling in reserve forest areas illegally in Churachandpur in the hills in kuki dominated areas. The Government evicted many houses of Meiteis as well in the valley. Reserve forests areas are under the government of the state. They can't live there as per the law it's illegal. 3) Deforestation took place in Manipur to cultivate Poppy plants. 15400 acres of lands were used to cultivate poppies and they cut tonnes of trees. That's why the climate has changed in Manipur, the temperature has begun to rise and environment has changed.The government stopped the cutting of tress and drugs. 4) Kukis helped in bringing illegal immigrants from Myanmar to Manipur. Kukis were originally from Myanmar, they were brought to Manipur from Myanmar during British colonial. The Chin tribe of Myanmar from the Chin State are Kukis' sub-tribe. They helped the Chin people to come to Myanmar illegally. These people were converted to Christian once they enter the Indian soil in Manipur. Later they issued fake id's like Aadhar cards, passports etc. Then they give them indian citizenships and enjoy all the benefits of scheduled tribes . We the Meiteis being the indigenous people of Manipur couldn't get the ST status and have been demanding for many years. On the contrary, they get ST status in overnight. 5) NRC implementation National register of citizens means the register containing the names of Indian citizens. Kukis were not happy with NRC cos' they were fear of losing the populations. Kukis were not happy with the plans mentioned above made by the Government. Since Chief Minister Mr. Biren Singh is from the Meitei community, they think Biren is favouring Meiteis and targeting them. That's why on 3rd May they started targeting Meiteis after the rally was over. They burnt Meitei houses in Churachandpur (Kuki dominated ) area completely. Horrific ethnic cleansing took place in Churachandpur and Moreh. Later at around 3pm Kuki mobs in thousands carrying guns Ak47, iron rods, sticks , petrol, catapults entered a Meitei area called Torbung and torched about 3 villages around 400 houses. Kukis want to form a separate kukiland with Mizo, Chin and kuki. So they can continue with the drug business freely without any interference and destroy the societies. I am from Manipur and this the real story.

Every time such incident occur, and our honourable pm morn or give his statement on incident, people tend to forgive or show support toward modi, but this is the first time where I'm seeing everybody hating and Backlashing PM, not they're supporting INDIA as such. People are really hurt by our politicians this time, which they should be.

Last month, he was on leave, and during that time, I had a conversation with him about the violence in the region. I asked him why they are not taking any action, and he explained that they do not have permission to resort to even using lathi charge, question is why the central government is not taking any action?
