(Okay this is long and unimportant, so unless you like Greek mythology, there's no reason to read this tbh) So when you guys said you'd compare him to the story of the boy looking at his reflection and drowning... You're literally talking about the Greek Narcissus, the son of a river god (Cephissus). Nemesis(the goddess of revenge/justice) had seen the way Narcissus acted so proudly, ignored people who took romantic interests in him. Nemesis decided to trick him into following her to a pool, and looking into the water. He fell in love with his reflection, not realizing that's all it was. He didn't actually drown, but rather stayed near the water, afraid to leave the pool as he so loved his reflection dearly. He lost motivation to eat or drink or sleep, and eventually died. I know this is unimportant but I'm obsessed over this sort of thing, and it's not every day I hear someone speaking about the Greek stories I grew up with 💚 I hope some of you learned something today, if you decided to read this!
