ST are the epitome of music that you FEEL. They masterfully create their music and music videos. A lot of it is very emotional and honestly might be hard for some to listen to but I love them and keep coming back.

You will definitely love the discography of this band. Will Ramos also did a cover of Hypnosis by Sleep Token which is phenomenal. He loves this band too. Alkaline is the first song I heard by them and I was hooked immediately. They are so different in each song you do not really know what to expect. I bought the Vinyl for The Earth Will Become Your Tomb (Most Recent Album) and everything about it is gorgeous. This band pours so much passion into every song. At one point, you should also check out the Drum playthroughs they did of some of the songs from TEWBYT. The instrumental versions of their songs are just as beautiful as the versions with vocals.

As someone who has been stanning the absolute fuck out of this band for the better part of two years, it makes me happy beyond words to see them finally get the recognition they deserve! Can’t wait for the next double single drop! If you're brand new to ST, the background on the band is that they're completely anonymous - they have not released their names, and they wear masks in videos and during performances. They are "united in their worship of an ancient deity identified as 'Sleep', who appeared to the band's lead singer, 'Vessel', in a dream." In the only interview that I think Vessel has ever done, he said: “How we got here is as irrelevant as who we are - what matters is the music and the message,” ... “We are here to serve Sleep and project His message.” Their music doesn't really conform to any one genre, which is one of the things I love about them - I never know what to expect, but it's always great. As someone who has always been into eclectic genre-bending prog metal, I'm super happy to see Sleep Token dive into a similar sound and do it in a way that more people appreciate. It's the opposite of what most of my favorite bands have done.

They are special. I don’t know how else to say it. I’ve loved a lot of bands, musicians, etc… but it’s a different feeling with them. I feel I resonate with their music on such a deep level. If you do decide to check out more of their music, some of my personal favorites are High Water, Alkaline, Atlantic, Dark Signs, Distraction, Give, and Jaws. Although I highly recommend just listening to everything they’ve put out. Lol. They don’t know how to make a bad song.

That deftones reference is one I absolutely side with. Was actually the first band I thought about when I heard that song two days ago - and found it quite surprising that not more people made that connection.

It's hard to say what is "expected" for Sleep Token, because although there are certain repeated ideas and motifs, every song from them has something different going on. Their output varies in style tremendously, although personally I think it's almost all damn near flawless. This song is unusually eclectic for them though, and FUCK ME it's good. They are a special band, a really interesting combination of musical elements with some absolutely insane musicianship behind it. The vocalist, Vessel, gets most of the attention but this song in particular demonstrates that the whole package is phenomenal. For sure listen to more of their stuff, although nothing gets quite as nuts as this. Higher comes close in some ways though, and High Water is its own kind of special. Incredible band, deserves to be way bigger, but maybe this is their year

Something really neat about Sleep Token, are that there are only 2 “official” members of the band Vessel, and Vessel II, vessel (vocalist) does everything except drums. That’s where Vessell II comes in. Their catalog has 2 full length albums, a few EP’s and various Singles.

Their songs will always keep you guessing because no genre is off-limits for them to play around with. Even those of us who have been following them for a while were caught so off-guard by that ending. Sleep Token does so many things extremely well, but they're particularly skilled at building anticipation and atmosphere with space, dissonance and synth, so while many of their songs don't start out at 100 mph like this one, you can feel it coming and the payoff is always satisfying. Without light, there's no heavy, and they truly are masters at creating a journey - usually one that evokes emotion of some kind - from one to the other. Most of their songs have at least a heavy segment to them, but if you're interested in their songs that have a bit more heavy in them than others, check out "Chokehold" (the other new single they released the day before "The Summoning"), "The Offering," "Gods," "Alkaline," and "Hypnosis." And while not predominantly heavy, I'll even throw "Higher" in there because it's just so good and the heavy is HEAVY.

Your expressions during the song were priceless… honestly I felt the same way on the first listen. This band is sick. The new enigma band. You’re right in bringing up Tool. The essence of this band is along the same vein. They are mysterious and all over the place. All the comments below speak the truth if this band. To hear the hype around them is just amazing to see. These lads hide their faces, tattoos… everything with respect to their identity. The allure around them is contagious. First time in a while, I’ve been blown away by a band. The young man behind the drums is just exceptional. As a drummer, I’m excited always to see what he does next.

I started diving into them the day after this song dropped and it came to my attention...so far my favorite songs from them have been Alkaline, Chokehold, The Summoning, The Offering, Atlantic, and Calcutta...I can honestly say after having all of their albums on shuffle for a few days, they really don't have any songs that I feel like I need to skip over, it's really just good background vibes to hang out and listen to...

my partner doesn’t really listen to much metal, and i listen to a TON. this band is such a happy medium that even my partner enjoys their heavy stuff 🫡 i love sleep token. i found them because they opened for in this moment when i saw them in PA. i was mesmerized. them live is so spiritual even as someone who isn’t spiritual myself. it’s an experience i am so glad to have experienced hahaha

You definitely need to check out more of their stuff. The first song I heard by them was The Offering when it first dropped back in 2019 and I was instantly hooked. They have a really solid catalogue so far of two full lengths and a handful of EPs, but The Summoning and Chokehold (both released last week) really have brought the band to a new level. I would recommend just going through what people suggest in the comments to start and then dive in for more if you’re craving it

There is a song from Sleep Token that Will id a cover of and it was really nice sounding, i have to say that it aint my cup of tea but i i have to say they are talented from what little i heard. Also who be driving the tractor in the background? xD

You mentioned the funk bit was the part that really hooked you so I'd definitely recommend checking out Jericho at some point; the bulk of that track is basically a polar opposite from this one but there's a spot right in the middle where a bucket of soul just gets dumped in your ears. The best part about these guys though is they're not just outside of the box for music in general, they don't even stay in their own box. Like yeah, the vocalist and drummer are gunna flex at any fitting opportunity and there's usually some sort of contrasting elements, but the forms all that takes isn't even predictable.

Sleep Token pulls you in and puts you on that emotional roller-coaster. So they definitely have that Tool vibe to them. Tool is actually my #1 just because of what they have got me through in the past. Honestly when I discovered Sleep Token not too long ago I got the same exact feeling all over again. Just the sound itself puts you in a trance. Then there's vessel's voice.

If you want another heavy song their song alkaline is very well known and a great song and for something more melodic their song the love you want is also great shows their range

They aren't exactly a heavy band but boy will you feel all of their songs. Bloodsport and jaws aren't heavy but are SO GOOD. The offering is heavier so you may enjoy that. One of my favourites is Mine but most people seem not to like it, it's one of those songs that fi the meaning hits you deep into your bones you'll just click with it. Also, there's lore and music, and that's about it. The identities of the members are hidden nd they wear masks when performing/shooting music videos.

Hypnosis is definitely a very different vibe than this. But really good. It is as the name suggests. Hypnotizing. I recommend that one for the next Sleep Token reaction.

I know you like the Lorna stuff, and heavier stuff.. they have a really good recipe for what they do. Grooves and melody like few other bands, superb intricate core progression into sometimes very violent endings. Check out "Gods" by them, or "The Offering" is good. Side note: Will Ramos did a cover of "Hypnotized" by them, so you should check out the original, then Wills version in your own time or would be a great reaction to do a side by side on here I think. Salutations friend.
