Okay: predicting the next swamp is a sleep-inducing mess where enemies constantly kick your ass. At the end, you gotta fight St. Trina.

One last bit of St. Trina lore that flew under the radar here is the Dolores the Sleeping Arrow Puppet: "One of Seluvis's favorite puppets. Spirit of a handsome archer who dressed in the style of a man. Called the Silent Hunter by some, she fires St. Trina's arrows from her shortbow." "Dolores once belonged to the Roundtable Hold, where she was both a critic and a friend of Gideon the All-Knowing. It was because of her that he and Seluvis went their separate ways." The full story is likely just as complex as Radagon and Marika, but I highly doubt Trina is merely an alias of Miquella. At this point I mostly regard them as two characters merged together instead of a single split character On the whole I believe she comes from an older time than Miquella, with hidden ties to the Albinaurics and their specialty of archery. Particularly when Miquella lilies appear to be modified Trina lilies instead of vice versa.

If I had to guess the reason their Adult form is unnerving is because they're awake. The middle eye is open, which usually represents an enlightened mind. Then they have mist like tendrils coming off that eye and making 2 more eyes on the top Left & Right. They're super awake lol

What if the character we see lying in that purple swamp in the trailer is one of Santa Trina's clerics?

The purple flames of st Trina's torch and the colour of black flame once being purple is definitely interesting. I personally wouldn't be surprised if st Trina is connected to the gloam eyed queen.

check out the shield of the guilty, when equipped it gives you resistance to frenzy and sleep and if you look at it, the guilty maiden depicted has a striking resemblance to st trina

"Quite the habit".. it sounds like sleep is used as a drug imo. I can see how they see him as extremely dangerous. (Adult st Trina) also, have you ever been deprived of sleep? It's like your tripping on acid.. just from not sleeping. Imo, no sleep, is the worst "drug" effect.

Since there looks to be a sleep inducing swamp, and St. Trina is confirmed to appear I wonder if we will be able to go to sleep somewhere (at site of grace or the like) to be able to see her in our sleep. Since that’s seems to be where people have met her. 😴

Just speculation with nothing to base it off of - perhaps the super sleepy sleepy boi in the DLC trailer IS Fevor

On the close up of Miquella's and Trina's Lillys - you can see that Miquella's almost seems like like Trinas - but with new root growing growing from the bottom up, sapping life from the leaves, and sprouting a new bud out of the end of the flower. I've never seen it in such detail until now. I think Miquella is in control of the tree that is sapping the other of it's life in the shadow of the erdtree trailer.

What’s crazy is that the commonly accepted idea is that st trina and miquella are the same , but Miyazaki kinda made it sound like st Trina wasn’t the same as miquella. even without cut content the game makes it seem like they’re the same and he knows that we think that, but instead said “they are distinct entities with a close relationship, and more about this relationship will be revealed in the dlc” (approximation of what he said) so that makes it sound like it’s more nuanced than just them being the same like radagon and marika and we have it wrong. But idk maybe it was the translation or he just gaslight and pretended we didn’t know she was miquella.

something interesting about miquella and saint trina is that in real life, the hormone that allows physical growth, the GH hormone, only gets secreted during sleep, which both explains the cause for miquella's eternal youth and the need for an alter ego that could fulfill the lack of sleep

That Big Purple Flower Field In The Trailer Is Where Miquella/St. Trina Will Be! Cant Wait To See It

Have you looked closely at the statues at the Precipice of Anticipation? There is a small one up in the arches of the Grafted arena and along the walls an adult man statue in long hooded robes. The columns along the walls depict a man tending to two intertwined trees. Those two show up together again outside of the area where Godwyn’s head is. Just before you enter the aggro area down there the adult one is now in bad shape with his face blasted off. The little one is at his feet, missing its head. Marika’s two golden children Godwyn and Miquella? G & M seem to have some relationship to Trina and Gloam Eyed Queen (fish tails on GEQ door in Caelid). I wonder if GEQ and Trina are related in a sleep/death way? We see people like Ranni, Rogier, Fia and the Direwolf trapped in sleep too.

There’s a theme in this game of becoming too consumed with something and being destroyed by it. Like those crystal sorceress who end up turning into crystal. Also whatever happened to Radahn. He became like an avatar of the gold, the energy kind of became his body. Then there’s what happens when you get too into dragon magic, or frenzy flame. It’s all people who become consumed and destroyed when they go too far.

There’s one point I would’ve added was cleanrot knights are very close in relation to miquella, and the knights drop both Trina lily and miquella Lilly

Marika represents a tree, Melina represents a branch of that tree.

That's exactly why the item description for the bewitching branch is so misleading. It's all recipes for sleep potions, so it's meant to be a calming tranqilizing agent used to soothe and quell aggression. It makes sense why Miquella's needle is also used in the same way for the scarlet rot and frenzied flame. It's the calmness that keeps your wits about you in the heat of battle or the sleep aid needed for inducing a restful dreamstate. Distilled from water lilies to create a sleep inducing drug with similar affects to alcohol. He's making a pain relieving anesthetic called Ether to treat patients as a doctor in a clinic would. (The downside however being that its addictive and highly flammable) Interesting Bloodborne similarity with the purple mist as well. St. Trina is definitely a healer which aligns well with the idea of Miquella wanting to help people and creating his Haligtree or "Healing" tree 😊👍

Cool detail I noticed about the Sword of Saint Trina. Although its iconography is heavily associated with St. Trina and sleep, it actually has a real world counterpart. Tizona, or Tizón, was the sword of errant knight-turned-crusader Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, more commonly known as El Cid, a transliteration of his title given to him by the Spanish Moors, as-Sayyid. El Cid was originally a mercenary who fought for both the Spaniards and the Moors in their wars over the Spanish peninsula in the late 11th century, although he would later come to ally himself fully with Spain in their Reconquista. Also notable about El Cid (in relation to Elden Ring), was his legendary warhorse Babieca. There’s disagreement on how he came to own this horse, but one poem describes Babieca as being a “gift from a barbarian”.

I know sacred blade isn't a unique skill, but given that it is the skill on the Miquellan Knight sword and the mists of slumber skill on St Trina sword uses the same animation as sacred blade, this could point to another connection between Miquela and Trina

St Trina is a alter ego of miquella

DLC out and finished, they are separate people, but are connected. They are almost certainly related in some way as St. Trina is sympathetic to Miquella in the brief dialog we have with them. Although, Miquella's corpse is much larger than what is depicted and separated from his body, he looks like an adult. As for why St Trina would look unnerving, well if you see their DLC through till the end, she is like just a head and arms. The rest of her "body" is a plant.

Surprized you didn"t talk about Slumbering Egg. This item is quite rare to find and its description is very intriguing. "Owl eggs that will never hatch. Prized as a symbol of the most sublime slumber." This could be either a reference to Miquella's eternal childhood or Renalla Slumbering Egg.

I'm pretty sure Miyazaki just confirmed in that China interview that St.Trina and Miquella are different beings.

St trina is probably an aspect of miquella that got split off from him. Which might explain radagon is marika thing. Radagon is an aspect of marika which was split off

Hey Zio. Gonna throw this one out there for you. Lilies are a "hermaphroditic flower." Miquella is one and the same. Upon birth, he/she would have been treated like a god in the same manor as Markia and Radagon (Rebis). Only issue is Miquella was cursed, like all of Marika's children. You have to be dead to become a "saint," so Miquella is similar to Ranni and Melina. A spirit in a sense. Don't be surprised to see a "lily" over Mequilla's left eye in the same way you see that crow claw over Melina's eye (GEQ). You kinda of see something over Ranni's eye but it's hard to make out. Anyway, finding out about the whole St.Trina thing and how they are a part of Miquella should be interesting.

St. Trina boss fight is going to be such a pain in the ass. Dodge/roll too soon, sleep. Dodge/roll too late, sleep. Do nothing, super sleep. Can't wait!

It would be funny if the one in the cocoon in Mohgwyn Palace isn't Miquella at all, but rather the guy who made the cookbooks mentioned, and the painting in the intro was a red herring of sorts to lead us to think that the hand was Miquella's, but in reality he compelled Mogh to bring some of his followers along with him, and he used the scholar instead as a gateway to the Land of Shadow.

Perhaps St Trina is the champion of an outer god of dreams? Manifesting itself as an alter ego of whomever it chooses to be its scion? It’d certainly be a play/callback to Marika and Radagon, and could also play into the dual nature of Miquella’s many dichotomies (male and female, willing to give up its form for the sake of rebirth (but pairing with Miquella’s prescience provides another layer of Miquella’s intent by cocooning itself- if he knew mohg was coming to mess up his plans, thus severing Miquella’s ties to the land of the living, it would set them on a straight shot to the lands of shadow). The possibilities are endless

It's interesting that the Walking Mausoleums go to sleep at late night, since they have a connection to the eclipse and Godwyn, and thus to sleep. We can duplicate remembrances there, which have a connection to Finger readers, and I think the Fingers in general are tracing out or manipulating constellations and fates in the stars (you point at stars to trace out constellations). Late night is when the stars are probably at the fullest? I don't know. I think there's just a missing and now forgotten piece of Miquella/Messmer lore here when it comes to the Mausoleums in general. Especially considering they talk about Marika's unwanted soullless children. Someone should talk about these things again.

Thinking of that Miquella is Melina video, I wonder if perhaps Melina is Miquella's divestiture of everything Golden? I only think of that because of the scar on St. Trina's face on the torch and considering it was likely made when the Haligtree was being grown then perhaps it was before Miquella went to the Land of Shadows? Melina being his incantation/faith side of the equation with Trina being intelligence/sorcery could be a very compelling thought given Miquella explored Golden Order Fundamentalism and that requires equal balance of Faith and Intelligence. A sort of split like the Dung Eater's though a bit more extreme. Especially since that Torch has a Faith requirement when everything else Trina-related uses intelligence.

Miquella learned how to captivate ppl from St. Trina. Induce a sleeplike state and plant an idea, like the movie Inception.

If Miquella is forever a child then it's not him in the cocoon but instead it's Mesmer the Impaler.

My theory is that Miquella's plan is to fuse with Messmer to become a god of the Shadow plane (the soul realm). In Alchemy and Hermeticism it's worth looking into the Alchemical Wedding. Miquella and Messmer are 2 sides of the same coin. Like Marika and Radagon. I believe Marika and Radagon were once separate and she ascended her qualities that made her the other half of Radagon. I believe they fused in the same principal of the Alchemical Wedding. I think each Empyrean has a plane they must belong on. There are 3 general planes of exiatence: the physical, the astral / mind, and the soul. I believe each Empyrean aligns wirh this; Malenia being the physical plane where she is a swordswoman who's main deal is decay, rot and rebirth. Ranni being the Astral / mind / psychic. And Miquella being of the soul. Based on this I believe the butterflies represent each Empyrean. Since we're on the Lands Between I believe we are on the Astral (Ranni's) plane. I think Miquella knew this and that's why he never chose to fight Ranni because he knew it was her plane to begin with. The Astral plane is the 2nd stage in the cycle: Physical > Astral > Soul, so it would make sense it would be the Lands Between. I think Ranni and Miquella (maybe Malenia too) all conspired in the Night of the black knives. My theory beforehand is that Marika made it impossible for the Empyreans to leave to their respective planes because she didn't want to lose any children and broke the cycle. I believe across the other planes there will be respective "other half" Empyreans for both Ranni and Malenia too. - I have a dew more ideas that seem to go with these theories and make sense. Between looking at Jungian Psychology, Hermeticism, Alcehmy, Tarot, Kyballah and the Rosicrucians, there is some real similarities.

I hope the DLC gives us a good way to farm Trinas Lilies.

What if melina, messmar, and rani are all st. trinas split personalities? They all have the one eye closed. The St. Trina picture with the eye in the middle is interesting. They all have a mark from their closed eye except Messmar although I think there maybe a mark that goes up and to the right instead of down. Then we’d be missing one last mark

You should do a Version 2 of this topic now that the DLC is out and we know the Truth. The St Trina/ THollier questline is my favorite in the DLC and its heartbreaking.
