This video explores the abilities, powers, and origin of the manga and Capcom video game character "Strider Hiryu." From being the youngest of the Strider ninja warriors to attain the Special Class-A ranking and garnering the respect of his peers for his superhuman displays of speed and strength while perfectly using his tonfa-like Cypher / Falchion plasma sword, mastering the Taijutsu fighting style of martial arts and mastering the focus of his Chi Energy to help his Cypher produce devastating plasma and elemental attacks, a period of recklessness after being forced to take down his unstable Strider-trained sister Mariyah, tragic events with his former friends and allies Sheena and Cain due to the machinations of the turncoat Vice Director Matic working alongside the villainous Faceas Clay and his Enterprise organization while expanding the Zain mind-control program, using his skills and support robots along with the help of Strider Chief Kuramoto as well as fellow Striders to dismantle the Zain program and its' leaders, to becoming the most effective superhuman ninja in the world; Let's take a look at this iconic video game superhero, and one of the few adversaries you'll never see coming. This includes a short, canon character biography and my own opinionated "Sage Rating," which I use to give ratings of comic book and science fiction characters.

Who is Strider Hiryu? Possibly one of the best designed characters from the 8-bit era of gaming. The quality of his few games can vary, but that character design is the stuff of legend.

Strider is one my favorite ninja character. They bring him back also ninja gaiden and shinobi. Strider is a cool character.

So glad to see fans are still out there for Hiryu. It's weird for me to hear things I made up being interwoven into his cannon, but I'm happy to hear it. Making Strider 2014 was a labor of love and this vid brought back some good memories.

Strider Hiryu is the best video game that Capcom ever made. His character is one of the top ten greatest video game characters of all time. Hiryu is probably the # 1 most heroic Capcom video game character.

Well, technically, he didn't start out as a manga, he started out as a three part media project which included a manga, arcade game and home console game. The manga just appeared first because it was completed first compared to the other two projects. All three projects actually started at the same time.

For me Strider was always a fun video games, when there were arcades I have spent many of quarters trying to beat the game; ironically it wasn't until I got the home version of the game that I finally defeated it. Like always broa and very much so appreciated, fantastic, fun, outstandingly cool narration, video and content. You forgot to mention that, throughout Hiryu's and his arch-nemesis Grandmaster Meio's many appearances, there have been hints dropped that every iteration of them -- from those in the Strider main series, to the Marvel vs Capcom games, to the Namco x Capcom games, as well as any and all other appearances they've had in any other medium -- are still the same beings. Keeping in mind the fact that 2000 years passed between the 1989 game and Strider 2, this could very well mean that Hiryu may not even be a human, but may in fact be something eternal, something closer to a force of nature... He may actually be death incarnate.

5 feet 10 inch is a past setting. The current hiryu is the same height as Wolverine (5 feet 3 inches). If you watch the Marvel vs Capcom series, you can know exactly. I hope you know and use it properly.
