That’s how Venom is in the comics as well. People think Venom is only a terrifying monster, which he can be but he’s also a goofy humorous character with a dark sense of humor

I definitely feel like movie Venom and Spectacular Spider-Man Venom are my top favs. For movie V, what really made me like this version was the dynamic between Venom and Eddie, it's pretty funny to see how their friendship is like and constantly fighting over who controls whose lives lmao. For Spectacular, I honestly REALLY adore that they made Eddie into a close friend of Peter who was like a brother to him, but I'm still quite sad we never got to see his redemption arc in the future seasons due to the show being cancelled... I'll definitely say though, Venom is for sure one of the best villains in Spider-Man

Sony Movie Venom is actually pretty good. He’s actually pretty close to Venom in the comics. The problem is that he don’t have Spider-Man so he feels kinda empty

That Dreamcast game is my absolute favorite. Literally every villain in that game other than Doc Ock is at least top 5 for their characters in my book.

My favourite Venoms are definitely either the Tom Hardy version because he's funny, the Tony Todd version because I liked his actor in the Transformers film and the character is cool, and the Disney Infinity version because Disney Infinity is also cool.

Neversoft ps1 venom is my favorite iteration. Not because of depth but because of comedy. He is an absolute menace in the best way possible.

Peak video as a casual Venom Enjoyer, would love to see more videos related to Venom. Now I want see a list of all the best and worst Symbiote/Venom suit designs in the future. Like I know some people have favourites like Carnage, Scream, Riot and many others. But Anti-Venom has really grown on me fully since I learned about it's appearance and I like the more inverted look of Venom with his Jack-O-Lantern looking face and it does the opposite of what a Symbiote is supposed to do. It lacks a voice and will so it won't drain you to exhaustion and corrupt you, it's immune to most common weaknesses minus Mister Negative's touch and lightforce and really strong poisons, cures people of the strongest diseases and symbiotes, almost cured Spider-Man from his Spider-Radiation at one point. Literally years ago when I found out, this version of Venom exists, I really want to see Spider-Man don this Symbiote, like Flash Thompson got his Agent Anti-Venom and there was some really cool concepts of a Anti-Venom Spider-Man on the internet. Cut to October 20th 2023 and Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 granted my one long wish. It's pretty divisive for fans of Symbiote Arc, but I really like it. (Just wished Sony gave Insomniac more time to cook for Act 3) I just find myself flipping back and forth between Venom and Anti-Venom and finding it hard to choose which I like more.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who considers Venom a horror monster. As for who is the best Venom, that's tough, but I'd probably give it to Tony Todd from SM2 & James from Midnight Suns. Also, 10:53 Ty for this! 🤣

Not to mention with Tony Todd’s Venom, 90% of dialogue have not been used yet according to the legend himself. Which can either lead to A: Staying unused in the vault, B: Saved for the planned Lethal Protector game, or C: DLC.

As a Transformers: Prime enjoyer I didn't feel all that surprised to find out Steve Blum had voiced a version of Venom at some point, makes sense to me. But getting told *Darren Norris* had also been a Venom, my jaw freaking dropped and now I'm just cackling, because of course Knockout's VA Would be the most joyfully campy version of Venom, lmao.

As someone who read all Venom comics, Topher Grace is not as bad as you think, he is based on the early Venom comics and his late 90s villain run. If you say he is small keep in mind the other raimi characters beside sandman are not as big as the comics either so they keep that for Venom too. He does not say we because Venom has no personality similar to the ultimate comics so Eddie talks more for himself. If you cant stand these things then play the 2000 game, thats the most 1 to 1 with comics version out of all Venoms out there.

Movie Venom, Tony Todd, and Spectacular are my top 3 Venoms personally. The character, the voice, the voice EFFECTS in Spectacular are AMAZING. And Hardy basically set the standard of what Venom should sound like. Movie Venom made me like the Eddie/Symbiote dynamic even more. And bro, Tony Todd is Hardy but better

I wish there was a true Eddie Venom adaptation from villain to anti-hero by now. The very interesting part of their characters is how they are both angry freaks but then they gradually grow into heroic freaks together. Eddie and Venom are great characters because they have great chemistry and their growths are different to their characters

For how the voice sounds alone, it's gotta be either Web of Shadows, since I grew up with that game and it's pretty much what I hear Venom as, and PS5 Venom which has a similar vibe but smoother than silk

0:54 One thing I've always disliked about Spider-Man 3's Venom and Black suit is the fact that they don't have any white on them at all except for the eyes. The logo and webbing is just grey and it just doesn't look good imo

I didn't like the characterization of venom in Spiderman 2. Great voice and great design definitely but venoms goal was basically just world domination. And That's just not venom

Personally I really don't like the #1. Venom's voice should be growly but not just growly. It missing that chaotic/sinister tone venom takes that makes him sound threatening instead of like a Hulk

I wish Sony just had patience to let insomniac fully finish their game so that they could have enough time making it. Not saying Spider-Man 2 is a bad game. Far from it actually. It just could've been so much more of Sony wasn't so damn impatient.

Personally, in regards to Venom, I kinda have the same feelings towards Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 as I have towards Raimi's Spider-Man 3. They should have just done the black suit arc in one entry and saved Venom for the sequel. Venom deserves better than just being a big scary monster they throw into the final act once the black suit arc is over.

I know this maube a conversational thing to say but fuck it. Insomniac's Venom is the best version of Venom we have gotten in a long time, in my opinion. I really enjoy the strain relationship between Peter and Harry (though it could have been better as it keeps flip-flopping to him wanting to kill peter to join him) I love the alien invasion story. I love Harry's addiction towards it. I love how the symbiote feels legitimately betrayed by peter. "We gave you everything you ever want! And you threw us away!" And tony todd's voice is perfect. He's not the most comic book accurate, but he's definitely my favorite in my opinion.

My problem with Insomniac's version is that although he's intimidating, he's not the funny goofball that Venom should be. There's also the fact that he didn't get to live up to the proper intimidation a Venom adaptation can have. Venom is a character who knows spidey's identity. He should know all the people he loves and he takes advantage of that. As Eddie, Venom can sneak through a crowd and start stalking Peter (many people forget Venom also has a cloak ability). He can jump out at him at any time since he's invisible to his spider sense and none of this was really utilised in the game. He also has no webbing for some reason? But most importantly of all, his motives: Eddie and the symbiote use their combined hatred for Peter and Spidey to become Venom. Here the symbiote just kind of corrupts Harry and near the end it's completely pupeteering him. Not like Venom at all. Also the invasion plot isn't something Venom would do. Despite what this game and web of shadows may have you to believe Venom actually wants to protect the innocents. In his own twisted world he thinks he's the lethal protector of the people and his main objective to achieve that goal and protect everyone is to kill Spider-Man (also he hates him so that's another factor). It's kind of the reason why I don't think Harry is a good version of Venom because in this game especially Pete and Harry are absolutely best buds.
