I think Vizzy T might have to be the worst Team Black character for me. He named a girl his heir, kept her as his heir despite remarrying and having a son, didn't change succession laws in Westeros and just hoped the oaths of fealty would be enough to keep the Lord's support for the girl, didn't wed her to his first born son, didn't make her his Hand, didn't abdicate to secure her position.. He basically did everything he could to ensure war lol Team Black exists only because of him.

It always disappointed me on how understated Corlys Velaryon is. This guy should be MYTHICAL in Westeros. He has sailed to places that were story tales, or rumours, routinely sailed through the most dangerous waters in Planetos and made his house one of the richest in the realm, marrying the granddaughter of the king. In a SINGLE LIFETIME. There should have been some exposition about Corlys or have him arrive at his sons wedding or a party or tournament and give Viserys a Giant ruby encrusted silver goblet or something and say "A humble gift, for your majesty." Just absolutely flex on him.

the only thing i disagree with in this video is the sea snake name. there’s literally not enough time or relevance to explain where the name came from (his 9 voyages ship was called the sea snake). you just have to assume a man called “sea snake” is a great seafarer.

One aspect everybody forgets aboyt Daemon is that he is a total alpha of a leader. For the show version, just pay attention how naturally and without hesitation he takes control of the chaotic situation when Aegon is crowned. Instead of freezing or procrastinating (what most would do) he formulated a plan and started to implement it without hesitation. Just as what they told us over and over again during my NCO training in the army: a shitty decision is better than no decission at all. Daemon is one of the only naturally proactive decission makers in whole of Westetos.

Honestly, I guess I would put Cregan in S tier lol The guy pulled a Walder Frey way before Walder's birth and took his sweet time coming to TB's aid, which reduces drastically the deaths of northmen, then patch things up after the war and goes home happy ever after. Jace should have known this from the moment he tried to go "know-it-all" mode and got northern history wrong by saying he was happy to be with Cregan at the same wall where Tohrren had bent the knee to the Conqueror, and Cregan's answer wasn't the nicest XD (coming to think of it now, Jace looked like a newbie trying to impress his veteran, tried to flirt with him and failed lol)

The Velaryon were not darkskinned. They were in the show for inclusion which imo was fair. Thats also why the others talk about Rhaenyras bastards hair and not skin.

I feel like "Sea Snake" is a lowkey innuendo. He's shown to have his bastards around Driftmark, and his crew/people who gave him the nickname know that he's been slaying it at every stop and has bastards worldwide. The White Worm is like Little Finger Lite. She doesn't have noble birth or Lissa to give her any leg up so she's limited, but whore's talk/hear, and simps do their bidding. The guy who plays Westerling looks more like a Tywin than Stannis. I think he's gonna come to team black and be there at the Butcher's Ball to deliver Longleaf's lines to Criston. Caswell is the Lord of Bitterbridge on the Mander (kind of a less Chadly Walder Frey) in the Reach, which the Hightowers are lords of at the time, not the Tyrells, so they definitely don't set it out lol. Caswell's Bastard Tom Flowers along with half of the Reach declares for the Blacks. Otto worrying about the throne kept him from helping his nephew keep his shit in order back home. The Caswells, Beesburys, Costaynes, Rowans, and Tarlys all fought for the Blacks and the Tyrells sat out completely. Ottos bigger army was getting smoked until Daeron came along on Tesserion.

I support team black but not because of its characters, the only dubs are Westerling and the Seasnake. Jace is a good character for what side he is on. He is loyal to his queen mother and willing to put in the work and not just sit back. My support of team black is just down to principle. Rheanyra was Vyseris’ heir as said by the king and the kings word is law in Westeros. Wether or not it bucks tradition doesn’t really matter at all since targaryens spit in the face of tradition throughout all 3 centuries of their reign. Incesteous marriages, multiple wives are just the most major ways they defy the traditions of Westeros. A female heir and queen isn’t a big deal especially since for all her faults Rhaenyra is a much better ruler than Aegon in almost every way. The greens methods of subterfuge, manipulation and malice are just lame and don’t represent good rulers. Great video tho cheers guys!

Dude, Corlys was like 150% cooler than possible as a younger man. Even if his later years were only like a B+, and 85% plus 150% still is S tier! And as for Driftmark being a dump: even Driftmark before the Sea Snake surely wouldn't have been QUITE as dumpy as it looks in the show, because it had first been Valyrian (they must have brought SOME amazing goodies with them from the homeland!), then had been a major trading port before Aegon's Conquest, and then its owners had had favor with the Targaryens for over a century, which surely resulted in some major coin trickling down their way (though the castle admittedly was "damp and cramped" per the Wiki of Ice and Fire--but I think that was a concession to tradition, not a sign that the castle itself wouldn't have been draped in finery, even if it got a bit moldy). But even if we think Driftmark was a total dump before the Sea Snake, after Corlys's voyages and his triumphant return, Driftmark would have been just dripping in DIAMONDS and IVORY and there should have been, like, a big ZOO to house all the weird animals Corlys no doubt would have brought back! (The elephants he TRIED to bring back died en route back on the 9th Voyage, but surely he successfully brought other animals, and didn't wait until his 9th voyage to try this for the first time.) Okay, side tangent: I want more TORTOISES in ASOIAF! There specifically should be giant tortoises running around Driftmark, maybe in a royal pen, maybe just runnin' around. Corlys's sailors visited all kinds of tropical islands, and I won't believe that a planet with HUUUUUGE turtles and "phantom tortoises"in other places wouldn't be like our world and also have unique species of huge tortoises, each species living on its own obscure and/or uninhabited island--some of which those sailors would have landed at! And those sailors would have soon learned that you can put a tortoise on a boat and it'll live for a year without you needing to feed it at ALL, and live even longer (a LOT longer, like centuries!) if you sometimes feed it some lettuce or flowers or whatever. So the sailors would have put a dozen live, giant tortoises each on their boat decks, so they could have tortoise burgers for the entire voyage. And because Corlys would leave a good margin of error on how long to get back before the food runs out, there should be several live tortoises who would have probably still been in the boats when they finally returned to Driftmark, that they would then keep as pets, or try and breed for food. There should be a plot point in Winds of Winter where Stannis (or somebody--Dany?) visits Driftmark, and Monterys Velaryon, the new six-year-old king, is there, playing on the back of a giant tortoise--a tortoise that is STILL alive from when Corlys brought him back over 200 years earlier! While I'm writing fan-fiction, I think Daemon should at some point BRAG that he used to let Laenor give his butt a lot of penis-pokes, back when Rhaenyra was still married to him, while at the same time, Daemon was boning Rhaenyra, too, but he didn't tell either about the other, because he's a Chad.
