Oh my God man, I haven't even started this yet but I'm rubbing my hands together with Glee and anticipation. Lucy is one of the most amazing things in that genre and also the stuff with her sister Martha is incredible. They have both progressed so much in the 3 years that they have been releasing stuff. Lucy has the clearest voice, warmest tone and in my opinion the best out there now. Suggest try a duet with Martha her sister, my favourite is 'the prayer' but plenty to choose from, but any song from Lucy is incredible.

After I picked myself off floor where I had fallen, I had to re-play this a dozen more times to prove my eyes and ears were not deceiving me. I have over a decade of singing and acting experience under my belt. It takes a lot to impress me. Lucy not only impressed me, it touched me in a deep and personal way also. This rendition is Lucy's. I just discovered Lucy Thomas earlier today myself, I agree she gorgeous/stunning. This young lady is now nearly 20 years of age and has a phenomenal voice, she now at last is starting to be reconised as a possible world Superstar, She will be having her first live concert in Manchester England on March 5th this year, yes she is from the UK she lives with her family who are very close, in a town called Wigan Lancashire, her sister Martha also sings duets with her and they are amazing together. Lucy mostly sings covers from the greats Barbara Streisand, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion Etta James, Nat King Cole and they are fantastic. Lucy has it all beautiful warm low tones exceptionably good mix and head voice with amazing power technique and training, But she only uses what is called for by the song and respects the song while still singing her own version. As others said the duets with her younger sister Martha are sublime harmonies and Mam also sang once with them for mothers day UK las February singing Smile the Nat King Cole number.

Gotcha!! You did what most reactors do: eyes and brows popped up and out came WOW! You're now in Lucy's Wow! club. MORE: (I quit too soon) The thing that drew me to Lucy was "Memory" from Cats. She does a wide-open full-on belt and you can still understand the words (as you mentioned), has a superb vibrato (as here at the end of each verse), and does not screech. CLEAN has been used before. BTW, she's 16 at the time of recording this. Sorry, more: Lucy really got you on that one note that went from head voice all the way down to chest voice (attic to basement) then back up a bit (all in the same breath). I think she goes through 3 or 4 registers seamlessly. Your reaction was priceless.

You actually nailed it! It's not really her technical perfection that makes this cover so exceptional. It's the simplicity, if you can talk about it. No airs, no phrasing, no unnecessary embellishments, just sung straight! However, at a technically high level. That's what makes the performance so touching. I listened to this some time ago with all the hype about it being better than Jeff Buckley's version or The Pentatonixs version and it is, much better. Miss Britt, I just watched again so I've got more. Last verse (after the belt), her trailing vibrato on that verse stopped you in your tracks. All I heard from you was "that!" (speechless) and unless you were scratching an itch it looked to me like you just got chills down your back. Also, after the belt that trailing note and vibrato brought all that power back down to a very pleasing final few notes. She does that a lot and those last notes, even though soft and pleasing, just drill right through me and I get a deep gut reaction. It's my turn to say WOW!
