I think it's best to hold off on the rat for as long as possible. once you're consistent with him it trivializes the game.

@@NineHundredOne True, once you get good enough to beat the Rat every run, the game turns from "can I beat the Lich?" to "can I flawless the Lich?". But, to be fair, this game rewards skill a lot, so at some point when you get really good at dodging, item drops barely even matter and every run has a 99% chance of beating the Lich from the beginning. Gungeon is most likely the least RNG dependent roguelike.

@@samuelconnel2166 probably, and I do appreciate that greatly, but when there's a 0% chance of losing it gets kinda boring. I'm 3 deathless files in and I've had very few close calls in those. great game but not as infinitely replayable as something like isaac or ROR2 imo.

This was still pogs. Even with the best passive in the game. Nothing can truly save Dan from the DangHorse

Honestly this game gets so hard with the amount of visual noise that comes up. Dan will get this next time for sure
