Okay, members: Geoff Castellucci, long hair, bass, arranger Layne Stein, beatboxer, rare violin player, baritone, arranger (arranged this one) Eli (Ellie) Jacobson, bald guy, tenor 1 occasional arranger, lights Cesar De La Rosa, huge hair and beard, baritenor J.None, guest, former baritone, currently sings bass with the US Navy All of these guys have absolutely ridiculous vocal ranges. Geoff's lowest recorded note with VoicePlay is B0 (Valhalla Calling and Halo Theme Song) and highest with Voiceplay is Bb5 (Peaches). He has a solo channel where he clones himself and sings all of the parts. It's not a capella. Eli is their high tenor who can sing bass when needed. J.None is a bass baritone who can sing tenor 1. Cesar, their current baritone, sang the whistle notes at the end of this up to a D6. And Layne is just an alien. These guys are completely independent. They do everything aside from intricate makeup, final mix, and camera work. Well, this one they did the camera work, I believe on an iphone. They often do shorts in this format. Final mix is done by Ed Boyer, who I believe also does Pentatonix mixes.

VoicePlay has been a a group since 1997, when Geoff Castellucci (bass), Layne Stein (Vocal Percussionist, baritone, violinist) And Earl Elkins (former member: first tenor) were in high school together. Earl Elkins left the group in 2020 for personal reasons, and since then, they've had a rotating cast of both male and female singers for the fifth voice as their "Featured" guest. J. None is their former full-time baritone who now sings for the U.S. Navy; he comes back to sing with them whenever he's on leave. They always give full credit to who's who in the video info section. They were on the 2014 season of "The Sing-Off," along with Home Free, but they have videos on KZfaq going back to 2012.

Hi Welcome, to Voice play. J None is the gentleman in the orange shirt, and he left the group to serve in the USN. (Although many of the fans hope he will return after his service hitch(es) are complete). His official role is BASS singer in the Sea Chanters (naval band). He still comes back to Florida on leave and works with them (as you can see) and all of these incredibly talented men have mutiple octave voices and incredible ranges. Unlike other acapella groups Voice Play is entirely independent so you will not have to worry about hiding them in your reviews. They are wonderful people and incredibly supportive of each other, their Patreon's and their fans. This is a very unique video even for them and they have a huge range of genres, styles and performances to enjoy. I almost envy you getting to hear them all for the first time. The official Bass is Geoff (pronounced Jeff) the long-haired man wearing the blue/grey t shirt, the official beat boxer is Layne in the olive grey shirt and the bald Gentleman is Eli (pronounced like Jelly). The adorable flirt in the center is the newest member of the group Ceaser who like the others can and does perform multiple roles depending on the song arrangement and the demands of the performance. They also have the uncanny knack(or God given gift) of being able to find and work with some of the most incredible guest singers I have ever had the pleasure of listening to and as they genuinely support and showcase these fellow artists in the performances you will never find yourself sorry to hear any of them. I have been a fan since about 2016 when I saw them live at the Magic Kingdom during an afterhours event and I have to say they sound just a s good live as they do recorded. If I were a rich man/girl, We don't talk about Bruno and the greatest showman medley in particular will make your mouth hang open while you are feeling great. Also check out the hall of the mountain king to see them turn an entirely instrumental piece acapella. its mind blowing.

To give you an idea of just how LITTLE VoicePlay "stays in their wheelhouse", the man in the orange shirt/tan vest who started and ended the song is J. None, the featured artist. J. None was formally a full member of VoicePlay and sang as a baritone, but was recruited by the US Navy to sing in one of their choirs a couple of years ago - where he is now singing as a BASS. But listening to him in this song, you'd think he's a full-on tenor, and have no idea how low he can really go. And that's fairly typical for VoicePlay - Cesar de la Rosa, their current bari-tenor who was singing in the forefront about the lion, hit new personal video high notes in this song! If you're into Disney, VoicePlay will be your cup of tea - they have all kinds of Disney medleys and songs, and their main studio shoots are done at Pattycake Productions, locally in Orlando, FL, where their beatboxer/violinist Layne Stein is partners with former VoicePlay bari-tenor Tony Wakim, and Pattycake Productions puts out their own videos often based on Disney characters, including an on-going series entitled The Villains' Lair!

This is an odd one to start with for them but you got to see their goofy side and meet VioLayne in your first reaction. I really hope you react to more of then, they are incredible!! Geoff - Bass Layne - Baritone/Beatboxer Eli - Tenor Cesar - Baritone/Tenor J None (feature and former member)- Baritone - He is the one that started the song They definitely do a lot of theatrics. I would recommend Nothing Else Matters, Valhalla Calling, Hoist the Colors, In th Air Tonight or anything else you see that you might like. I’ll join your Patreon and subscribe in hopes you will keep reacting to them! ❤

Welcome to Voiceplay. This is one of the craziest ones to start with. For me. Voiceplay are the best a cappella group. They are independent and do all the arranging, editing, production etc themselves. If you like Disney then you should check out their medleys.... Moana, little mermaid, and frozen..... Hell fire from tge hunchback.... they do serious stuff too.... a favourite of mine is Nothing else matters, Metallica cover... too many to mention... I've subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and subsequently Geoff Castellucci (bass) who has his own solo channel. 😊

Yes this was filmed with an iPhone. They usually film their minis (that are done in the mall) with an iPhone because they don’t have the regular cameraman come in for those. But this is the regular release for the month also filmed on an iPhone. Their regular cameraman has transferred out of the area. And so their Christmas selection and this were both filmed on an iPhone until they find someone to fill that spot. They normally use a regular cameraman and often a steady cam. They’re doing the best they can with what they have during the transition. In addition, I believe they probably were planning on doing this as a mini, but then they had so much fun they just went ahead and ran with it. They had a pretty busy time in November and December between the holidays, a brand new baby for one of the members, and they were asked to perform on stage with the iconic band Chicago for a couple of nights and they were very busy rehearsing for that. They’ll be back to their regular production standards as soon as they find a camera operator. J who is the featured performer with that falsetto was a regular member as a baritone for several years until he was recruited by the Navy to sing for them. He has recently been transferred to the East Coast so we see more of him as they are based in Orlando. When he got transferred they recast him and he is now singing bass for the Navy …… and falsetto for VoicePlay. And if you like Disney you found the right group! All of them have worked either at Disney or Universal Studios or both and they are very comfortable with theatrical performances. This was an odd one to start with. This is not in any way representative of their normal production values. It’s great - it’s just way different than most of their regular performances. They’re sort of well-known for their production values especially over the last several years.

What, you never saw a guy play violin with a squirrel on his head before? 😂 These guys are a riot. They don't take themselves too seriously which leads us to videos like this one. They just make me happy. They cover a shockingly wide range of genres and do it very well. Their cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is a definite can't miss! They've got so much great stuff, just find a song you like and see what they've done with it. Some favorites for me (besides the one I already suggested) are "Valhalla Calling," "Hoist the Colours" and "In The Air Tonight" (a cover of Phil Collins). I look forward to seeing you react to one of their more serious pieces! ❤

You could call this "Voiceplay" light. They go much, much deeper. This was them living their best life and having a load of fun with it. It was supposed to be a short, but they went with it. Next one, maybe, "Valhalla Calling?" I say that because it's my favorite. "Hoist The Colors" is up there too. I listened to it over 43,500 times last year (I go to sleep with it). Or "Nothing Else Matters," (yes, the Metallica one!) or "Hellfire" from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Welcome to the Theatre Kids of KZfaq's A Cappella Trinity. Voiceplay, Home Free and Pentatonix. But the best thing about the first two groups, is that you never have to worry about copyright issues. You're free to show everything.

Welcome to the #Voiceplay family. Yes they are actually in the mall filming and the zoo animals were added by Layne Stein (beatboxer and VioLayne) in production. Layne arranged this one. Voiceplay does their own arrangements, their own production, video, lighting, everything is their work. They have no record label....it's all them. And, they actually sing during the filming portion. They are not just moving their lips. The venue is Pattycake studios which is part owned by Layne and this is where they film their "shorts" in the vertical format. This was going to be a short and they just had too much fun and took it to a full length release. The bass is Geoff Castellucci, High Tenor (bald rock god voice) is Eli Jacobson (pronounced Ellie not E-Lie). Layne Stein is the beat boxer / violin player / sometime baritone fill / sometimes base cover when Geoff is taking the solo. Geoff and Layne do most of the arrangements and Eli does a few as well. Eli does the lighting for the videos. Cesar De La Rosa (with the fluffy lion like hair) is the smooth baritone that can go to tenor 1 as desired like he did on Steven Tyler's Dream On. And finally, J. None was a full time member of Voiceplay and he now sings baritone for the Navy at the moment. J. comes back for many of the Voiceplay releases as the featured guest. You did enter the Voiceplay rabbit hole in an unusual spot since this song was them just having a great time with it. All the recommendations you'll get are all equally great places to go...they don't miss EVER. My favorites are Voiceplay's versions of Nothing Else Matters, Valhalla Calling, Creep, Hoist the Colours, Hellfire, Warriors, Seven Nation Army, Dragonborn Comes, If I Were a Rich Man/Girl, Hall of the Mountain King, 21 Pilots Mashup. But they're all good. Can't go wrong with any of them....including their upcoming release. Enjoy the ride!!

Yeah, this is a crazy one to start with. The guys love to have fun and be fun and sometimes it comes through in videos like this. On the plus side, you got to see VioLayne. Every once in a while he will bring out the violin. The mall you see os where they shoot a lot of their shorts in the mall proper (Pattycake Productions is in the mall and they shoot a lot of full-length videos at Pattycake, owned by Layne and a former VP member, Tony). If you like Disney, you've hit the group--they have done quite a few. They just did Hellfire (from Hunchback) in October. They also have Friends on the Other Side, Moana Medley, the Little Mermaid Medley and all kinds of nightmare before Christmas. They embrace their nerdiness and they are the theatre kids of the acapella world. And since they do all of it themselves (with the exception of some outside sourcing for make-up, etc.), they are able to have a wide range of genres and artistic control. Can't wait to see more.

They filmed at the Oviedo Mall in Orlando Florida where Pattycake Productions is located. Pattycake is where they film most of their videos. Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci - bass, arrangements. Layne Stein - beatboxer, baritone, arrangements. Eli (like jelly) Jacobson - tenor, rock tenor, lighting, arrangements. Cesar De La Rosa - baritone, tenor. J None - guest, former member, baritone. Now in the US Navy choir. Layne co-owns Patterson with former member Tony Wakim. They have a bunch of original Disney related videos where actors and actresses bring the characters to life. Geoff has his own channel where he sings solo with instruments. He clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies. Each with their own name and personality.... Jeff, Jeoph, Goff and Daryl. He also has many awesome videos. His latest is Blue Christmas. Voiceplay and Geoff released their new videos on their Patreons Wednesday. They should be on KZfaq soon. Voiceplay's is "Out of this world". Geoff's is absolutely beautiful.

I really enjoyed your reaction and am now a new subscriber looking forward to more Voice Play reactions! Your first reaction not knowing them yet was very accurate. Yes, they are very theatrical compared to the other two top acapella groups (Home Free and Pentatonix) and Voice Play is frequently called the theater kids of acapella music. Their featured guest here is J None, a former full time singer with Voice Play that left to join the Navy. J none is amazingly talented and actually sings BASS with the Navy but you saw here that he has an amazing voice range and can hit those high notes and he can beatbox and rap as well. J None frequently comes back while on military leave to sing with them and other regular featured guests fill in in between (We think of J None and some of the other featured guests as extended family or part time members). Voice Play is a group from Orlando Florida and all the members and their frequently featured guests have worked as performers for Universal and/or Disney theme parks. Their full covers are brilliant and often theatrical but for some raw videos with less production check out their 'minis' (click on 'shorts' on their channel). You will see this mall a lot in their raw minis as it is where their production studio (PattyCake Productions) in the Oviedo mall just outside of Orlando Florida (yes they do all of their own production without a record label or contract). I would recommend Voice Play's "Warriors" next to you as you said you like the violin and J None and beatboxer, Layne Stein, plays violin in that one.

They put out a video a month along with a few minis filmed like this in the Oviedo Mall, I think the aspect has more to do with their steadycam operator moving away and finding a replacement. Everyone else has pretty much filled in the info so great reaction.

Queen In 5 Minutes ( a medley of Queen songs ) ... Dream On ( originally by Aerosmith ) & The Dragonborn Comes Skyrim . Some none theatrical by Voice Play are ... Carry On Wayward Son ... Eleanor Rigby ... Mr. Blue Sky ... True Colors ... If I Were A Rich Man / Girl ... Hell Fire ( from The Hunchback Of Notre Dame ) ... The theme song Halo from the Halo Video game ( the composer of the music was blown away by Voice Plays cover & even thought it was the best he ever heard, even better than his own. Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole of awesomeness! The guys are: J. None...amazing R&B Baritone (Guy in the gold shirt that started the song) He's a former full member, but guest features every time he's available. They are currently a quartet. Bass: Geoff Castellucci....amazing human subwoofer with the fabulous long hair and does about half the arranging. He also has his own solo channel with low bass covers. Equally brilliant! Beatboxer: Layne Stein..(guy with the violin) amazing vocal percussion voodoo and mad genius...does about half the arranging. Tenor: Eli (pronounced "Elly") Jacobsen, the little bald guy with the amazing rockstar tenor voice and insane belts. He does all the lighting and most of the special effects, and even some arranging. (Check out "Creep" to see his arranging genius! and Cesar De La Rosa...the baby of the group. This was originally planned to be a short/mini, but when Layne (beatboxer) was arranging it, he was having too much fun with it. Not a green screen, they were in the mall. They record there frequently. They record the track ahead of time, then produce the video. Their high tenor left in 2020 after 23 years, they are still one man short. J None was with them from 2018 to 2021, Cesar replaced him. They are still one man short and have a variety of performers in the Orlando are that they collaborate with. They have a Disney playlist, my favorite is the Mermaid Medley. Voiceplay and make your jaw drop (Hoist the Colours), break your heart (I Can't Make You Love Me), or make your face hurt laughing like this one and Drunken Sailor. Subscribed in anticipation.

This is such a fun song and made even more so with their antics. Please, please, please do more VoicePlay. Their version of Creep is amazing! They are so good and equal to Home Free and PTX but in a different way. They all are special at what they do. I mostly only listen to these three groups. There is plenty of variety! You have to listen to Seven Nation Army. Anything with Anthony Gargiula is going to knock your socks off. He sings as a guest. I keep hoping they will get him permanently but I think they may be holding out for J None to come back. He is great too. You are right that so much goes on. I have to watch their videos at least 5 times so I can concentrate on one member at a time. (Mostly the shorts) I just love watching them act as well as sing. Many of their songs are shorts. I think they said they try to do three a month. (?) These guys are so good and so much fun. My favorite is the newest guy - Cesar. He is absolutely adorable! Welcome to the VoicePlay experience! Other commenters here have covered a lot of the important stuff. I'll just break it down a bit: if you want to see them at their most serious, I recommend Nothing Else Matters and Creep; theatrical but not goofy, Hoist the Colours and Valhalla Calling; playing strongly to a theme, HALO and In The Air Tonight; going full-on Disney, We Don't Talk About Bruno and the Moana Medley (most if not all of them have worked at Disney theme parks in the past;) and more lighthearted fun, Butter and Drunken Sailor. But anything you see in their channel or Geoff's is well worth checking out.

Voiceplay does a series of shorts. They filmed this one like it, but it is a full length. Kinda weird one to start with to get a taste of them. I suggest Nothing Else Matters, Valhalla Calling, or Raise the Colors. JNone is a member of the group. He sold his voice to the Navy right now, so guest stars when he can. You've found an interesting video to begin this journey. Welcome. They are completely independent and do almost everything themselves. This video shows their total goofball attitudes, yet they're exceptional with their vocals and arrangements. Oftentimes their sets and costuming are unbelievably great. This long-short is a one-off because Layne couldn't stop when he was arranging it and it worked out to help bridge the production gap caused by their camera person moving away. The group members changed during the covid times and Cesar (high whistle notes in this one) is the most recent addition....as a baritone. The first singer is a former member, J None, who left to sing bass in the navy chorus during the covid years. The bald fellow is Eli (pronounced elly) who is a rock tenor god. Layne is the primary vocal percussionist. Geoff (pronounced jeff) is bass extraordinaire. A revolving cast of regulars (featured artists) fill in for the fifth slot which J None happily fills when he's on leave. Much more will be revealed along the way. Enjoy!

The shooting location here is the Oviedo Mall, right outside Pattycake Productions (a theatrical production company with its own channel, co-owned by the beat boxer / violinist here, Layne Stein, and a former VoicePlay member, Tony Wakim, who can be seen e.g. in VoicePlay's cover of Phantom of the Opera). Pattycake produces for instance the Villain's Lair series, but VoicePlay (and Geoff for his own channel) also use their studio to film videos. J-None was the guy singing the lead part at the beginning and end; he used to be a full-time VP member but currently sings bass for the US Navy. Geoff is the guy you correctly identified as singing bass, which is what he usually does, although he can sing tenor as well. The other two are Cesar de la Rosa (with big frizzy hair, nominally the group's baritone, but he can also sing tenor, and I think he's the one who hit the very highest notes in this song, in the background) and Eleazar "Eli" Jacobson (the rock tenor, who does not have big frizzy hair and can also sing bass, albeit not as low as Geoff). And yes, VoicePlay definitely gets into theatrics, and they are very good at being goofy in an entertaining way. My absolute favorite of everything they have done is Mountain King, but Hoist the Colours is also amazing, and Rich Man, and Tennessee Whiskey, and Little Mermaid, and ...

Haha if you see the short form 'phone shot' videos from them, these are their minis. The goofier or less produced shorter clips they do, often in this shopping mall in this format. While they are awesome I probably would have started with one of their longer more intentional video productions. But they are definitely the theater kids of acapella. Geoff, long hair - Bass (also has his own channel) Layne - Beatbox Eli, bald - Tenor Cesar - bari-tenor J.None - Baritone, currently a feature, former full member

A few years back, Tony Wakim (VP's baritone (one of his best then was the Phantom of the Opera) decided he really wanted to do productions. Layne Stein (beatboxer, violinist, baritone +, original member from when VP was 4:2:Five back in 1997) and Tony bought a studio (Pattycake Productions) in the mall you just saw. A lot of VoicePlay videos are done there, minis in the mall outside the studio, and a fair number of Geoff's solos (non-acapella) are also done there. Geoff is the other remaining original member. Earl Elkins was the high tenor and original member until he left 3 yrs ago for personal reasons. J None left a few months later for the US Navy. That left them down 2 people. They brought Cesar de la Rosa on who has an extended range in baritone and tenor (in this video he hit 2 new notes, C6 and D6). Eli Jacobson didn't go to Layne and Geoff's school but it was close and they knew each other from competitions. Eli joined a couple of rock bands until he joined VoicePlay in 2010. He is Tenor 1 and known as Rock God, Geoff is Dragon Breath, Layne is Carrot Lord and VioLayne, Cesar is Velvet Sass. Eli also does the lighting, computer gen, green screens. Layne and Geoff were the 2 guys the alternated the video projects, but Eli had done one of the arrangements of Eleanor Rigby and recently did the project for Creep (RadioHead). Do check it out. Now the 3 of them will be alternating projects: arrangements, casting, costuming, makeup, staging, camera work and crew, pre-mix audio (final audio is by Ed Boyer who does all the best a capella groups). Cesar's project is the Loop (he's done Loop #1 Choose Your Fighter (Cesar's choice), and Loop #2 Return to Sender (Geoff's choice). Low dice determines who gets to choose. The four of them, working from their home studios, go on to do a flash arrangement, each one designing their part in the loop. It's fun.

So, Voiceplay does multiple "shorts" every month shot like this, in a mall with like a 30 second clip of a song so they took that format and did a whole full length one with that. But the deal is, VoicePlay are the theatre kids, they have a lot of fun and are often silly. It's part of their charm. Go check out 7 Nation Army or Creep for a more serious/rock type of vibe.

They do a lot of SHORTS (just snippets of songs) in the mall using the phone. This was supposed to be a short, and they had so much fun they kept going. And yeah, lots of stuff to look at but that’s part of the fun. Long hair-Geoff Castellucci Bald guy-Eli Jacobson Vocal perc/baritone/Violin-Layne Stein Guy with all that hair who hit the D-friggin-6-Cesar De La Rosa First guy to sing-J.None This is just a lot of Voiceplay silliness-those of us who love the group are having a blast with it, but yeah, you should def check out some of their more usual stuff. Nothing Else Matters might be a good place to start. Then Halo theme or Dragonborn Comes from Skyrim, if you’re a gamer. There’s a LOT of great music on this channel. Great reaction!

New subscriber to watch your VoicePlay journey! Note that they currently have a neat one coming up for release soon. But meanwhile there are loads of other covers to see. The guy they had been using for camerawork moved out of state, so they were filming without a separate cameraman on this. Using the phone made that easier, as they are already accustomed to filming the shorts this way. Most of their other main videos appear in a more usual camera. The next one coming up is more typical.

Welcome to Voiceplay!!. If you want full on theatrics (and sillyness) try Hall of the Mountain King (and yes that is an instrumental number), also any of their Halloween numbers. They do a lot of Disney, most recently Hellfire from Hunchback of Notra Dame where you will hear Geoff much more. Gaming songs like Halo and The Dragonborn comes. Lots of styles, from rock to musicals. Try Creep if you don't mind being hit in the feels and to see more of Ceasar. Valhalla calling (they not only did the costumes but Eli did all the backgrounds) And then you could wander off the Geoff's personal channel... for more insane low notes, and highs and costumes....

How much fun was this? VoicePlay do a lot of Disney, and as many of them have worked for Disney they do it in theatrical style. They are unique as an acapella group. And believe us, the headphones do make a difference, especially for Geoff's subharmics, they vibrate right through you. No it's not greenscreen. They are actually in the mall with CGI added later. Cesar is doing the very high whistle notes, he's the one with all the hair. Geoff is the bass. But to be honest they all have a wide range, it's just Geoff's is the widest, being five octaves. Not really heard in this one.The mall is where Layne, the beatboxer/snger/iviolinist, has his Pattycake Pronductions studio. Eli is the small bald bearded guy and the guet here is J.None who used to be a full member until 2021 when he left to sing with the navy, he's the black guy.

Welcome to the rabbit hole!! This was a fun one. Check out, well, anything that strikes your fancy. The mall is usually where they do their minis, and this was originally intended to be a mini, but Layne (beatboxer, baritone, VioLayne) had too much fun with it and it just turned into a big biggie. lol Good luck labeling these guys voices, four in this video can do bass, baritone and tenor, the other is baritone, tenor and stratosphere. Hope to see more!!

Warning ⚠️ always wait until the credits are done rolling before ending any Voice Play covers , Especially Halo . They often add something special after a brief pause/blackout . They always stay true to the originals at the same time adding their iwn twist to them. They are totally independent of any contracts & do everything themselves but make-up & final mixing ( done by Ed Boyer who also does final mixing for other groups as well.

Hi! ! I hope you don't mind, but here are some unofficial (but important!) rules for listening to Geoff/Voiceplay! I just came up with them on my own, but after years of being a Voiceplaya, I've found they're necessary for optimal Voiceplay (and to a degree, Home Free as well) listening. If you've already got some of them down, know I'm just posting the list, not criticizing your reactor skills! The rules: #1) VERY important! ALWAYS watch to the very end of the video, or at least a ways into the patrons scrolling. Often times it may LOOK like the video has ended, but there's an outro. Also, watching to the end lets you see their awesome cover art. #2) Always leave the closed captions on. Geoff's wife Kathy (who helps with their videos, she also appears in some, such an amazing woman!) has hearing loss, so sometimes there will be little hidden gems in the CC. #3) If you pause a video to speak, rewind it ten seconds before you start it again, to make sure you don't miss anything. #4) Don't look away from the screen, or close your eyes for more than a second, because, again, you might miss a visual gag or clever moment. #5) Don't go into their videos with expectations on what the song will be like, i.e., that it will be the same as the original. These guys put their own spin on things. The only thing to expect, generally, is to be blown away by their sheer talent. #6) Unless you have a REALLY great speaker system with stereo sound, ALWAYS wear good headphones/earbuds with Voiceplay and Geoff. They do amazing little tricks you can only pick up with those hearing devices. Plus, some of Geoff's notes are so low you practically can't hear them without headphones Oh, and FYI, Voiceplay is: Layne Stein, their beatboxer. Sometimes he sings, and it's always a treat to hear his voice. He's also known as The Carrot Lord and VioLayne. He flosses in this. J. None. Orange shirt with white stripes. Geoff Castellucci. (Said Jeff Cas-teh-lou-chee) He's the bass, with long hair. Eli Jacobsen (pronounced El-ee, NOT E-lie!) All in gray, who looks like Doctor Venture. Cesar De La Rosa, their newest member, in the red jacket. He flirts with the camera, and it flirts right back! I could tell you all sorts of facts and opinions about each member, but I'll let you discover them on your own! Glad to see you enjoyed them! As we all are, even those of us who have been their fans for years! This is my favorite Voiceplay line-up too, with Cesar and J. None. There have been different line-ups through the years, so don't be surprised if the core members' faces change as you go back farther in time. With J. None on a sabbatical of sorts (the Naval Choir asked him to sing with them), they have different guests for each song. But fear not, because they always find the PERFECT guest for each song! Enjoy! I know we will watching you!

Welcome to the wonderful world of VoicePlay. I have subscribed to be able to see you react to more VoicePlay and Geoff Castellucci videos. My favorite VoicePlay song is Valhalla Calling, but you can't go wrong with anything they have out. Check out: Seven Nation Army; Carry on Wayward Son; In The Air Tonight; Dream On; Hoist The Colors; Drunken Sailor; Creep; Nothing Else Matters; Hellfire; Whiskey in the Jar. I could go on and on. Geoff Castellucci (the bass) has his own channel, you need to check him out his versions of: 16 Tons, Misty Mountain Cold; I see Fire; Jack's Lament; Ain't No Sunshine; Sounds of Silence to name a few. Enjoy the rabbit hole.

VoicePlay really is a bunch of silly theater guys who love Disney and dressing up. "The Theater Kids of Acapella." This one is for all the fans, shot like one of their shorts, so it's a weird one to start off, I bet. They film those in a mall where their studios is located, in Florida. "Little Mermaid" is a great one, back when J.None was part of the group as a full member (he's in the Navy at the moment). I see you have "Valhalla Calling" already, I'm off to watch that. It's probably my favorite of them. Geoff Castellucci, their bass, also does solo work, harmonizing with himself with his 5-octave range. The best to start off with there is "Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold."

Not a great performance to do an evaluation - this one was just them having fun. They are based in Orlando and all have a background with Disney or Universal; they take the whole entertainment part of performance seriously. We fans often complain that we don't get to hear Layne (the beatbox) do vocals enough, and don't get to listen to his violin - so he threw both in for us on this one. Yep, they've ALL got really wide vocal ranges - J. None currently sings bass for the US Navy.... yet he was doing all of those crazy falsetto highs. Cesar, who was hitting whistle tones (? we've never heard him do that before either!) is technically their baritone. And so it goes in the world of VoicePlay. We are never sure what they'll do next, we just know it will be well worth watching and listening.

Like everyone else said this definitely was an odd start. This was supposed to be a short, but Layne (beatboxer, baritone, and VioLayne) just was having too much fun and got carried away. Layne and Geoff (bass) have been their primary arrangers but lately Eli (bald rock tenor, lights, special effects) has been taking turns as well.

You need to look at hellfire. Super complicated and super amazing. If you want to hear difficult beat changes, crazy constant key changes, harmonies from space and sub harmonics from hell and not to mention some acting which is always badass. Trust me this is a great song to start with as it really shows a lot of their abilities and a lot of what they do. They are the big theatrical of the big 3. Definitely my favorite by far though.
