Even the £25 - £35 price range for the black series is substantial, but no where near as ridiculous as Mafex, can't even pose him touching the buttons on his flame thrower - guess you don't get what you pay for, eh

@@LK-qk1fk Paying 6 times the price on a toys cost is mad. If anyone was serious about buying a Mafex Boba Fett, they would've pre-ordered it for it's release 4 and 1/2 years ago, for £35, like I did. The Hasbro will eventually go up in price as well - which is why I got my pre-order in early. The Mafex is long discontinued so Ebay sellers will charge whatever they like. The sculpt is flawless and way ahead of the Hasbro, but the materials brittle unlike the tough Black Series. The Mafex = A delicate piece of art which you pose once and put on a display you dare not drop from. The Hasbro = A durable toy you can let a kid play with but looks unrefined in comparison. I like all three of mine (both Mafex versions and the Hasbro). The SHF looks like a caricature and even that is going for inflated prices now.

Really great video! I agree 100% with you on pretty much everything you say here, I have all 3 of these guys, and I definitely pose the Black Series Boba the most out of all 3, (I’m scared to even touch the MAFEX one sometimes!) You always do a great job on these comparison videos, can’t wait for another one!

One of the best things I love about the Mafex ones is that the visors are like actual visors...so no black painted plastic. When you factor that in, along with a 100% painted figure, it really can pass for a little man in a suit. The new Hasbro one's definitely in second place.

Deluxe Boba has become one of my favorite figures I’ve ever gotten. So many accessories, great articulation, and a great sculpt! I’ve had my eye on the Mafex figure (empire) but I never wanted to pay over $50 for one figure

This black series Boba is amazing. At first I skipped on him because of the helmet problem but when I saw that it's an easy fix I had to get him. I had so much fun posing him. For me he is one of the best figures in the line.

Hey Unparalleled Universe just thought I would let you know a few things about the deluxe Boba. The packaging squeezed his helmet one way to fix that is to put him in boiling water, makes the helmet look way better. Another thing I did was add a wash to him and it really brought out the details on him and added a cloth cape, I know sometimes you do videos about customizing a figure to make them better like you did for a few Spiderman figures maybe that's something you can do for the deluxe Boba

I couldn't agree with your conclusion more. The Mafex looks great in its way, but man, the Deluxe Black Series Boba Fett is THE Star Wars action figure I have wanted since Empire Strikes Back first came out. Not even exaggerating.

If I can give this video multiple likes, I would in a heartbeat! Excellent video, excellent points and figures. I couldn’t agree more. I adore my mafex fetts but they’re so damn fragile, I’m afraid to even glance at them. The new black series Fett is incredible! I gave him subtle shading to his jumpsuit n jetpack, using a Q tip that I rubbed on my backyard grill so it gives it a slight gray dirtiness, then used a fine tip marker to add a bit more scratches and weathering to his armor and he looks superb. He looks amazing and his durable. Subscribed!

I picked up the Diamond Select Boba Fett last year and honestly I love it. The arms are a bit of a let down but honestly I do love the figure overall. The detail and the size is what sells it for me.

Fair assessment, I generally agree. Thanks for taking the time to make a detailed comparison. On a side note, Diamond Select’s Fett is close to 1/10 scale and blends well with Kotobukiya’s ArtFX+ line. Also DST added a ANH/ESB Stormtrooper to the line, with somewhat updated articulation. Boba should feel less lonely with all this! 😁

You might be able to get the new ones helmet a bit more flared out. Mine's looking like the Mafex versions. It could be a case of the factory gluing the head on in the helmet a little crooked, which could affect the heat not making the helmet flare out as much. Didn't take too much effort to pry the helmet off mine to get it lined up.

Can't argue with you, the new BS Bobba was fun as hell but out of the two MAFEX ESB and ROTJ Bobbas, my go to will be the ROTJ, the ROTJ just feels more functional and the design makes it so it poses better, not by much from the ESB but enough that it stays on my work station whenever i need to pose him. I sold my new BS Bobba but kept the accessories for my Mafex ROTJ, nice comparison video!

You should get the Bandai Boba Fett model kit. I have a few and they are 6 inch and in scale with Black Series. I bought the Stormtrooper figures because they (to me) look better than the Black Series. No sloppy Black paint on the helmet or between the white armor. Boba Fet looks too clean once assembled though. That's great for Stormtroopers, but Boba will definitely need some weathering .

I think the Black Series Boba is the best by a slight edge even if we don’t consider the price. But overall I always consider the price because I expect way more from expensive figures. So dollar for dollar the SWB Boba is the best by a good deal. Great video as always.

For a few bucks more, you get the way better diamond select. Unless the black series is 30 bucks which I believe it is, in which case for the same price, the diamond select beats it for sure

I own both the ESB Mafex and the Figuarts, and I have to say the new Black Series Boba is damn impressive. The only reason I didn't get him is because I already have the other two. If I didn't have the Figuarts, BS Boba would be my action Boba on the shelf for sure.

The first black series I got was a knock off, I got the figuarts for $40, got a mafex cheep too, and the most recent boba figure had the most misshapen head of any figure I’ve ever gotten

Also the nice thing about the Black Series Hasbro Boba Fett is that all his joints are hidden in better way and not as noticable than with Mafex or SH Figuarts ones.

I've got the Episode 6 Boba Fett from Black Series and MAFEX, the Black Series I agree has less awkward articulation than the MAFEX and of course has way more accessories. I also think the helmet sculpt is a bit more accurate, the MAFEX one looks a bit long, although I hate that you have to heat up the Black Series version to get it to look right, and even then I think mine's still a bit off. The way I look at it is the Black Series is the more playable figure, he's the one I'll pose around more as he feels less delicate and has way more accessories, but the MAFEX is more of my display Boba Fett, he just needs to stand there and he looks great as is. Both I think work which says a lot as I was planning to skip the Black Series one, but seeing that flame effect pulled me in.

So the winner is hasbro. In price, look, articulation, and accessories. Honestly it is disappointing that a 100 dollar figure skimps on what it comes with to justify the nice sculpt and paint job. Where as hasbro still nailed the look but just missed out on a nice paint job. And glad to know I was right to get this over the others it was the most appealing one to be honest. Now if I could just swap the mafex lower half with the black serries then oh my god you got the fully epic boba fett. And if you can swap heads 😱 my god would that be freaking amazing. But shame they purposely make the parts not compatible for that reason.

The knee placement on the BS deluxe fett is all kinds of messed up. The legs bend at his upper calf, not at the actual knee point, and the more you bend them the less right it looks.... plus they should have stuck the knee pads to the lower leg. It's such a huge and weird thing to mess up. So very nearly great.

Hasbro, Diamond Select and MAFEX win, but for my casual fandom and money both Hasbro win. MAFEX looks good, but I feel like Mando is the only character I like enough to want a MAFEX version of. The rest, Hasbro does a very good job for like 80% of their SW figs. Is there any difference between the OG Hasbro one and the 40th Anniversary version? I like the 40th version as well.

Thanks for this video. Mafex has BEAUTIFUL details- sharp, well proportioned, well painted. The plastic quality is real nice too. BUT, black series just feels more fun, because I don’t feel like I’ll break it when articulating it. Hasbro really came a long way with black series. I used to scoff at comparison videos for even putting them in the same league as the Mafex/figuarts, but these days they really have a fighting chance, especially with photo-real tech for face sculpts.
