Just looking at the strikers between these two teams is incredible. Rooney, Ruud, Ronaldo, RVP, Andy Cole, Suarez, Torres, Fowler, Owen, Salah and more. What an incredible list of talent. Rooney, Ronaldo and Suarez would be my top 3 pick, but it’s bloody hard.

The one that confuses me is Evra, honestly that guy played In 5 cl finals. Sure he only won 1 but he played in 3 finals against arguably 3 greatest versions of Barcelona of all time. In addition he played in Euros finals. He was the most gifted left back technically in PL era. Sure Robertson has more assist but it’s partly due to the fact that klopp uses a system where assist are more coming from fullbacks than central midfield. But in terms of ball handling in tight spots, press resistance Evea is the best PL era left back. Robertson is great but I think he is more a system player due to klopps way of using left backs which put in crosses all the time. But in my opinion in terms raw footballing ability Evra is even ahead of Ahshly Cole.

What is the point of this debate when your deciding vote for the player is "he won __ amount of trophies and played for __ amount of years" when comparing a player that has retired to one that is still playing??? At least if your doing that debate there attributes or if you don't want to then open the debate to all time (not just pl era) and only players that have retired.

This happens everytime. Doesn't matter if a player won the league on 75 points and the other lost it on 99, the other won a trophy. Every 11 discussion is "well this guy won 5 trophies!" ok then, just end the discussion, Man Untied have won more trophies, so they should just put 11 United players Ronaldo? Should be nowhere near it, Solskjaer has double his PL titles, so should be in the team ahead of him. Van dijk? again laughable, O'shea and Evans both won more PLs, so put them in ahead.

Point is that since the inception of EPL, Liverpool have 0 shouts apart from Gerrard, Xabi Alonso and one single season of Luis Suarez to talk until now. Manchester United was on the top for 2 decades, they won everything possible multiple time, they played more games than any Liverpool player except Carragher and Gerrard, they had more goals, and more years as the best. Unlike Man Utd, not a single player except Gerrard and Suarez gets into the current team while in case of Manchester United you have 3 full stacked teams who would still completely wipe the teams even today in their prime.

a lot depends on it being prime season or longevity cus like suarez for example had the best individual season in prem history other than maybe henry but he was only at that top top level for a season or 2 at liverpool so he can’t get in over rooney if it’s based on longevity

Salah vs Ronaldo is the real discussion but its easier for both fanbases to just put them both in and argue other positions. Mane gets too much disrespect tho, id actually argue he was more important to how well Liverpool played as a team than any other player, other than maybe Allison or VVD, and ahead of Salah in that regard. We have to decide wether these discussions are based on how good their career was, or how good their prime/peak was! Schmeichel had a better career, but I think Allison has got a higher peak. Same with Suarez, he had one of the highest peaks of any striker in the PL, but because he wasn’t here long he doesn’t have the longevity to back it up

Suarez wasn't better than Rooney in his youth days, peak Rooney was next to messi and ronaldo. But after they hit 30 Rooney was ready to flip burgers whereas suarez was still at a high level. Rooney career started at 17 ended at 29. Suarez started strong around 25/26 ended until he was 34

People get confused because Gerrard did more for the Liverpool team but players in the United team did less because they played their role for the team. Scholes started out as a 10 and progressively moved deeper because that’s what the team needed and it kept them at the top for 2 decades, Gerrard always tried to do it all and it limited Liverpool.

He never limited Liverpool, Liverpool limited him, he filled in at right back in a champions league final and dragged them to win it at 24 against one of the best teams ever in that Milan side, he was playing David Ngog and Jimmy traore and so, if Gerrard was in klopps team the last few years he would of much more, still won everything except the league

I’ve got take on Gerrard: We never saw Gerrard under a world class manager and therefore we never saw Gerard reach his peak or fulfil his potential. When players, particularly midfielders, play under world class managers, they get utilised far more effectively.

But doesnt that add to the beauty of how good Gerrard was? He still shone in mostly below par teams with average managers and could take games by the scruff of the neck and literally pull his team to victory! Of course to see him in great teams with great managers would've been mouth watering but that's not always how it goes unfortunately. We just have to appreciate how good he was with what he had to work with and that speaks volumes for the type of player and character he was

Owen was great at Liverpool but he just can't get in over Rooney unfortunately. I feel if Owen stayed in the prem longer and injuries didn't ruin him then he definitely would be in the conversation

Won the FA cup, League Cup and UEFA cup with them in 2001 to win the Ballon d’Or, went to Real Madrid, then Newcastle, then played like 30 games for Man Utd, and then Stoke. Blighted by injuries after leaving Liverpool, but in his prime, he was incredible.

mane was actually a better player than salah when it came to everything but finishing, when it came to bringing other players into it, dribbling, positioning he was better. His finishing was frustrating at times and it’s the reason salah is rated higher cus he finishes a lot more shots but it’s similar to diaz now at liverpool performing better than salah when it comes to everything but finishing

Then you’re really underrating salah, mane never scored any of the wild dribble goals that salah has, he hasn’t made those same assists as salah. There’s a reason why mane was moved on first. Maybe mane was as a bit more fun to watch, but saying he outperformed salah in everything but finishing is ridiculous

If it really was an all time eleven you’d struggle to get even three Utd legends in. Clemence in goal…… Phil neal, Alan hanson, Bobby Charlton and Alan Kennedy in the defence. A midfield of souness, Callahan with salah and barnes on the wings. Kenny daglish and George best up front.

The main one here i disagree with is Neville not being in the team. Neville is the best right back in premier league history and i say that as a city fan the only competition is probably Walker but i don't even think thats close. I feel like Torres and Suarez not getting a shout is kinda mad. Both tore this league when at liverpool and were the best players in there position at the time but i guess longevity.

Only thing I don't agree with is Evra over Robertson. Robbo epitomizes what a modern fullback is with an insane work rate, stamina over the roof, offers so much going forward and tracks back when needed. How people hype up Kyle Walker is how Robbo is at LB.

There are players from the 94 double winning team that never get mentioned like Pallister, Kanchelskis, Hughes etc players like Yorke, Solskjaer, Van Nistelroo, Van Persie who rarely get a look in and that's before even looking at Liverpool players. There's really only Salah that's in with a shout. Virgil is good but he doesn't get in ahead of Stam or Rio, Gerrard certainly doesn't get in over Keane or Scholes and frankly, Xabi Alonso was better than him so I can see an argument for him. Shaw????? He's played 191 league games in 10 years at the club, he wasn't even in the match day squad for the two Mourinho trophy wins because he was injured again. He's no where near as good as Irwin, Evra, or Robertson. I'd even take Phil Neville or Bjornebye over Shaw any day of the week.....Christ, I'd have Paul Konchesky over Shaw........ok, that was pushing it too far.

Trent shouldn't be in an all-time debate for best RB, especially against Gary Neville, or even Kyle Walker for that matter (even though it's not a general debate for best all-time Prem RB, which would still be Gary Neville, even if I included Kyle Walker). TAA may have the assist numbers at such a young age, but his defense is inconsistent and shambolic at times, which is a major component of his job as a defender.

there isn't a single left winger that compares to how mane would play. his decision making on attacks was so precise and direct. he could score with both feet and his head. his work rate was immaculate and his pressing of players was so fast that he could initiate a counter attack from nothing. there were so many goals Liverpool would get where the opposition had the possession and then suddenly the ball was in the back of their net. no one can compare. Ronaldo was a player that could score goals and make assists but if you had him on your team he wouldn't go above and beyond to score a goal by himself and would rely on the players around him to initiate attacks. mane in terms of prem doesn't need to in the conversation, he is the conversation.

*Liverpool need to play the table NOT just united. If they start like they're a goal down (and carry on until 2 / 3 up), it should be a comfortable 3 points. They play better half the time once a goal behind, use that to their advantage. Defence must be extra extra tight. Attack has to be first line of defence and play like they're desperate to turn things around. YNWA*

VVD had good 3 seasons, 2 best seasons... Vidic had more. TAA isn't even a RB, half of the people consider him as a Midfielder, and he plays midfield for England, hence Gary Nev. We talk about EPL, and we talk Gerrard, a guy who couldn't even one 1 shouldn't be talked about, for me it should be either Michael Carrick or David Beckham or Ryan Giggs.
