most poor people are just resentful, they mad that utopias literally only exist in fairy tales. ive been homeless before and i have zero hatred towards the rich, good for them. also, most people are F'ing STUPID

@@pluumpiiboi3434 part of that is right, but I would say that most people in disadvantageous positions aren't resentful and just want to better their own situation. Utopianism is just as much a fantasy of the rich as it is for the poor.

Wealth also accounts for assets and company revenue, Bill Gates is an example of someone who makes more than most of the US combined but still gives away a lot compared to other billionaires, but since his assets are still counted towards his wealth he's still extremely wealthy. So on the bright side at least all these billionaires aren't just keeping their wealth in gold bars in a vault a lot of them reinvest it into the people but it doesn't look that way because their total business revenue and assets are still counted as wealth.

The fact that the wealthy control our largest corporations rather hoard all their wealth in gold and Van Gough paintings is hardly reassuring. It means a large chunk of the hard work we do is for the benefit of a handful, that the growth in the economy is largely for their benefit, that they control large media outfits that shill for them, and that the productive capacity of the world is devoted to enriching the rich instead of providing a decent life for everyone. It also means a large amount of public policy is written for their benefit.

For top 5% = bottom 80%, that makes the average person in the top 5% 16 times richer than the average person in the bottom 80%. So if the average person in the bottom 80% of the US for example makes $50,000, then the average person in the top 5% for the US would make $800,000. Unequal enough for capitalism to work and generate enough money to raise up everyone but not too unequal where a country starts suffering from the bad effects of capitalism.

Ironically in theory one of the advantages of socialism is income equality or similar income distribution while in practice Russia is having income disparity at one of the highest levels
