The one place where the ROC and PRC have consistently worked together. Their claims are a bit different now as the PRC and Vietnam came to an agreement for some areas, which the ROC doesn't recognize. It also gets more complicated by the ROC officially holding to the One China Policy but in practice recognizing that they are a separate country from the PRC (officially abandoning the One China Policy would piss off the PRC more than any ROC government has been willing to do). However, regardless of their claims to the Mainland, they still claim the Spratly Islands and their military conducts sovereignty operations there.

That's the weird thing: they never relinquished any claims that they had before they separated, so technically they believe they should. That's just on paper, though.

I dunno, I can see from the shop owner's perspective that it might be frustrating, since people will tend to stay away from an active filming so they don't get in the way. If they're there for more than a minute or two they might actually be driving away potential customers. Probably not, but there's my best attempt at giving it a fair shake. Of course there's no excuse to get police involved since no law is being broken, but again they might genuinely not know that so it's still easy to feel a bit sorry for them. At the very least, I don't think it's appropriate to feel proud about upsetting someone, but I guess that's just me.

The Bermuda Triangle is a myth. There is a kernel of truth to it, that a lot of ships do have disasters happen. But it isn't disporportionately any more than anywhere else in the world. The truth is, that there are a lot of ships passing through that region of the ocean anyway, so in proportion to the number of successful voyages, there is nothing about the Bermuda Triangle that makes shipwrecks any more likely.
