In this video, I’ll break down traditionally who pays for what and I’ll tell you how to politely ask your parents what they’ll actually cover. There is even a part of this video for someone (not you or your fiance) who wants to contribute to your wedding too!
It’s super important that you take a minute to understand tradition, even if and maybe even especially if you are nontraditional. I go over and show you everything you need to know about who pays for what TRADITIONALLY. So just review the etiquette ( FYI: you can just watch this video because I review it all for you on here). Knowing this, you can make informed decisions on your budget.
I also give some advice on what to do if you are not the bride or her family and you want to pay for something in the wedding so make sure to not miss that if you need it. It starts at 2:36
I get back to my advice for couples at 4:13. And that’s when I tell you what you can and can’t do when it comes to asking your parents what they will/won’t cover.
This IS DELICATE and this video explains how to ask what your parents will cover delicately so that these relationships strengthen. This is so important because how you handle these delicate matters will set the stage for how you’ll handle lots of other matters involving your parents throughout your marriage. So get off to a good start and watch this video to see how :)
