i mean it depends on the upgrades because certain upgrades will encourage the camp to donate. you should do another try but instead with a fully upgraded camp.

Funny enough, Micah has like 3 camp interactions where you see him donating cash from robberies he did alone. As he approaches the box he yells to everyone somethin like "That's how it's done, say thank you to your uncle Micah" and he even tells Arthur that there's a new top dog in the gang. He gives around 25$ each time. Obviously due to this mechanic being mainly for the player it's not like anyone other than Arthur can give 100$. Still, a neat proof that canonically Micah did donate quite a lot compared to others.

@@Adichu At that point I doubt it. I mean yeah he wanted to be on good terms with Dutch, but it was also a good excuse to do nothing in the camp. When someone would complain that Micah doesn't work at the camp he can always say that he just brings money therefore he doesn't have to work

Micah being one of the highest donors kinda makes since for the story. Dutch is probably more likely to trust people who contribute more to camp, and with how often Micah messes up (Blackwater massacre, getting arrested in Strawberry, suggesting that the gangs robs both Braithwates and Grays) Micah would probably want to donate more so the gang doesn’t see him as a hindrance.

You know, Arthur's donations and camp upgrades influence how much the others contribute. Unrelated, but I have an idea for you to explore about Strange Man and the cabin in RDR2. The cabin is a reflection of the player not the character. It reflects your choices not Arthur's, since you made him do it. If Arthur is low honor and goes to the cabin until the portrait is completed, then subsequently goes to max high honor, what happens when you go back to the cabin? Also, if Arthur is low honor when he dies, then John goes high honor, does the cabin change? Because the player did.
