Please tell Gary he was correct!! Encyclopedia is spelt “Encyclopaedia” in countries like England hence the famous Encyclopaedia Britannica series fun fact: the “ae” spelling comes from the latin letter “æ” which has evolved to seperate A’s and E’s in modern iterations of words hence why “archaeology” is no longer written as “archæology”

YES!!!! They were all telling him he was wrong, it may not be spelt that way in Canada but you would never say it was incorrect. It's how it should be spelt, before we dumbed down hahaha and I spell it that way in Australia!!

My coworker is that way, I call her the queen of randomness lol If we’re talking about something, she’ll blurt out a random fact (that does suit the conversation) and blows me away daily. It’s crazy how much she knows!!

I am suprised to see how many of the things they did not know. No judgement here, but in Eastern Europe I think every person who graduated high school knows most of thesee. Or even elementary....Interesting to see the difference that university education makes. It does make a difference! Fun to watch, though. 😊

Same here. I'm Italian and I'm shocked. But please don't talk about being smart, this is not about that: this is just about having a basic education, which is about knowing things, not about having the skills to properly process information.

I'm American, and it was hard to believe that any of these questions were challenging. I think it has more to do with Google thinking for us than about being smart. Too many people dispose of a lot of info because it is easier to look it up than to think it out.

Gary was correct when he answered “Portuguese” for South America. There are more Portuguese speakers than Spanish speakers, despite Portuguese only being spoken in Brazil. I’m from Brazil btw, thanks Gary for knowing that!! 🇧🇷

Eri Grace It’s 100% correct. Portuguese is most spoken language in S. America followed closely by Spanish. Look at population numbers.

Ana Reales de la Fuente I studied in the US from the age of seven and Central America is considered part of North America actually. South America starts with Colombia 😊

I think what people are leaving out is that life happens and you tend to forget a lot of this information. Like where do you even actively read Roman numerals as an everyday thing? Unless you deal with colours, when do you have to actively think about the primary colours? I hate that people think they’re better than them because they couldn’t answer all the questions. Some people are so desperate to feel good about themselves...

Because these 7th graders are currently studying it, when they become adult majority of these things can’t be almost forgotten especially if it’s not part of your daily life/work. Like with Valeria’s husband, he knows it and tries remembering.

The last one wasn't correct, a pronoun would be "he"! It's a noun. Subject would also be correct, because that's still grammar, as syntax is part of grammar!
