is it legal for the libero spike from the back row in the first touch?

@@seam3686 yeah it’s perfectly fine for a libero to attack. The only attack they can’t do is one above the net, as in a spike, but it’s perfectly legal for a libero to do attacks anywhere on the court as long as it’s below the net.

Can't spike IN THE FRONT ROW. Doesn't mean they can't spike at all

@@tired247 no it’s not that they can’t spike in the front row, they can’t hit from above the net in general. Doesn’t matter what part of the court they’re on. What Shoji did was fine because he contacted way below the top of the net

liberos normally don’t serve, no. they’re allowed to hit, but the ball cannot be above the net if they do. so they can’t jump and hit it, because it would be illegal. how has she played for a year and not known this?

I think its because he meant to dig/save the ball, not actually spiking it.
