@@Jazzy_G04 if you’ll notice, every time the girl in the video does the “hO-oldin/voice crack thing” it’s on an onset, which is how your vocal chords connect to begin making sound. The type of onset she is implementing is called a glottal onset, basically the reason it sounds aggressive. Also notice how the voice crack is always on a consonant in the video - ex “(H)olding and (H)and” basically if you want work on smoothing out your onsets, one thing I’d recommend is add breath to the starts of those consonants. Start the word “hah” with only a whisper on the h and then add chord closure/sound with “ah”. Hope this is useful and if you want to continue the work with onsets the next step would be to get rid of the h in “hah” creating a well balanced onset!

i think it's because she only sang a few lines. being sick doesn't really change your vocal ability. it mostly just changes your breathing ability. when i'm sick, i can sing a few lines before i start dying.
