Maybe...but remember, when it's a themed show, all questions are based on one subject. The Super Bowl special was football-themed, likewise this Oscar special was movie-themed.

I'm a movie buff but I only knew 13/20 answers. Nobody really had a chance of getting to the million dollar question, and it isn't very exciting to watch contestants spend a long time thinking when it is for a couple of thousand dollars, so it must really not be fun for the average viewer who can't even play along. They should have started a bit easier.

Actually, this is from March *24* (as the 26th was a Sunday when they aired the Oscars), so you need to change that in the title *and* description, please. I have this on tape, but my tape cut off before the final outcome of Tom Duffy's game.

He's right. The air date IS supposed to be 3/24/2000. On 3/26/2000 WWTBAM was preempted due to coverage of the Oscars.

6:46 when Karla Robinson was on in July 2000 the same corner was blinking after she selected D for her Tome question. I found out after readinng what a tome is that the correct answer then was A as well

She made it to the $0 Winners Special, and was the only female contestant out of the group. She did NOT make it out.

@@gameshowguy2000 neither did Robby Roseman, David Gold, Allen Kong, Jeremy Conklin, Sal Mecca, Chris Goldschmidt and Stan Wu. There were three more $0 winners after the $0 winner special but no further $0 winner specials so Debby Mittleman, Eric Mason and Jennifer Starks never got their second chances.

Because all films released in 1999 were eligible. If they nominated them during 1999, some movies couldn’t possibly be nominated so they wait until the next year to announce them.
