Cause of Mahabharata
Plot:
Balarama is confused regarding the fault or the cause of Draupadi Cheer Haran and Adharma in Dwarka He thinks if Yudhistira hadn’t accepted to play gamble game in the first place, this wouldn’t happen. Krishna explains the lesson of Dharma and guides to participate and let the war happen.
Krishna Gyan Translation:
No, its neither the fault of brother Yudhistira nor brother Duryodhana. The fault is of that Dharma, which gets tied up in Deception. Falls down on his knees in front of Deception. In reality that’s like blindly following traditions. It is definitely not Dharma.
When a human is steadfast upon his pledge and oath, then that’s is excellent, brother. But being steadfast at every situation, is it right? The same thing happened in that Gambling Assembly, Mahamahim Bhishma, Guru Dhrona, Mahagyaani Vidhur, and elder brother Yudhisitira. Every one of them was tied up with their oath. Followed the Traditions blindly. Considered following their commitment, their pledge as Dharma. Even if anyone of them had broken their oath or pledge then, Draupadi wouldn’t have faced this big injustice.
Dharma is like a tree, brother. Pledges and Oaths are its branches. And the roots of the tree are Compassion. There is definitely the importance of the branches but not as important as roots. If there is a need to break the oath to stop the suffering of anyone, then that is right. But at this time in this section, Compassion is destroyed in Aryavarta, in the entire world. Our problems are more critical than our close ones, and our close one’s issues are more important than the problems of society. Compassion has dried off from this society.
When there is no compassion in society, then the people are not attached by one another. Live only for their happiness. The state of Dwarka today is the same for the entire Aryavarta. The branches of the uprooted tree dry converting to wood. Similarly today Dharma has become lifeless. The time has come to blow life in Dharma, big brother. The lesson of Dharma shall be taught to society again.
War will definitely happen, brother. When Compassion in society is destroyed, then the society itself wages war for itself. Kauravas and Pandavas are only a cause. A river has a bank. But flood doesn’t have any barrier. In this war, we also cannot be the bank (river bank). We will have to fight on someone’s side.
