Ryan you talk about how these people in the past have left a lasting legacy to many people. I think you are on your way to being one of those people. It may not be your work necessarily but sharing these ideas and inspiring your viewers is leaving a huge impact.

Please do a stoic video on why we shouldn’t get upset by current media and social media. People get triggered so easily now and dwell on what the media tell us and what their friends and family are telling them on social media.
@sarangbsr
@sarangbsr 10 ай бұрын
The answer's simple brother. It's upto you as an individual to react or to be triggered by something which is out of control. Focusing on what's in our control is what matters, and reaction or triggering is in our control. reacting on social media means that you are letting the social media have control and effect on you instead of being in your self-control.

I had to download a good news app. I unsubscribed to the doom & gloom. I'm sure so much is accurate but so much is also sensationalized for shock value. B4 u know it ur brain has been contaminated w/horrible sights & stories. I can't change what's happening halfway across the globe. If I walk outside & see someone I can help,I do. If something happens globally I'm going to hear about it. I don't need to go searching for it. If I can somehow donate to help victims, I will. This constant borage of negativity is awful for our mental & physical being

People also go out and act upon things they hear from the media and some may even be propaganda to misinformation either from the public or the media itself.

Just signed up for the email newsletter! I have been doing independent studies on Stoicism for a month and realized how closely aligned this philosophy is with my core values. I have felt so inspired by stoic teachings, even stoic physics is intriguing! I am absolutely delighted to have found this Chanel. Looking forward to this journey for the acquisition of knowledge and truth!

I am in a chapter of my life where nothing I do has to do with myself. We must work and work a lot to live and provide. Even when we come home after work, there are many tasks to be done out of obligation. I find myself to physically mentally and emotionally exhausted to find pleasure and other things or be creative. I’m searching for that stillness. I’m looking for the little pleasures along the way, but they are scarce it seems that this life has less to do with me and more to do with, what I can give, offer, change something for the better. I think in coming to understand that this is freedom, i’ve tried to build this life in reflection to what I feel passionate about, but life pushes me most often times back to a mundane robotic like process. Like an ant, living out his days, carrying out the task needed of him.

Some people say that anyone who shows a hint of stoicism may need mental help because they're covering their emotions, yet we can see that stoicism anything but hiding yoru emotions, its more knowing that yes there may be times when you struggle but overall its managing those emotions and understanding them.

Are we to frame this idea of accepting the adversity of life the same when it’s self imposed? Not to suggest that being a slave is somehow easier to accept than subjugating yourself to bad conditions, but there is an element of anger toward oneself when the conditions were self imposed.

Galatians 6 "Brothers and sisters, even if a person is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. 2 Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. 3 For if anyone thinks that he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting, but to himself alone, and not to another."

Well, maybe if you see somebody really being murdered and there's nothing you can do, maybe it is better to walk away. What you could do in this case is notify the authorities. What can someone do if one is murdered. Every case would be different, I think.

I'd say both really. Stoics will do their best to win a losing battle, but they also would drop it and ignore it if it doesn't matter like if it's just to gain attention. Can you cite or perhaps give a source to the story you speak of so we may have a fair verdict?
