I cried watching this video just by seeing how genuinely people are happy without been given any money. SHAME on okezie, T.A orji and whoever has squandered Abia fund in the past.

Just look at the joy on their faces. That's all the people are asking for. Let Governors Fix their respective states. Give them the dividends of democracy and watch how industrious our people are. That's the best Biafra you can give to your people. Our enemy is not Hausa, fulani and Yarubas. Our problem is our Governors.

I’m so happy for these women expressing their tremendous gratitude to the governor for his magnanimity in using the people’s money to work for them. He refused to steal and kept faith with his words. May God in his infinite mercy continue to bless him. But having said this, the market women needs to realize that they also need to help. SWEEP after closing market and tie the refuse and dump it in the appropriate bin. That way, the rubbish won’t block the waterways and culverts. We all need to do the needful

Aba people can reciprocate by trading inside their shops and leaving sidewalks free. If this happens, the roads will be clear allowing more people to attend this market patronise them. Roadshow is advised to advice on the do and don'ts on street trading before any newly built road opens.
@cynthiaafam24 күн бұрын
Why are they selling on the sidewalks and roads. Leave this praise singing....
@user-zx9vk4ks6z24 күн бұрын
@@cynthiaafam Because Aba has been left lawless for over a quarter of a century. Notice how those ladies are singing while breaking the law- displaying their wares on the gutter/sidewalk and blocking access without remorse. The same thing in Ehi Road, Old Court Road etc. Underlying the whole thing is greed- the desire to intercept buyers on the road and prevent them from entering the market proper. Thus law compliers lose by sitting inside the stalls inside the market waiting for customers while law breakers reap the benefits via lawlessness. This moral inversion would need to stop if Aba is to be sanitized. Thus without road shows spelling out dos and don'ts followed by rigorous law enforcement, those roads will soon be blocked, sadly.

@LoonieGoon3r24 күн бұрын
This is great and all, but road and street sidewalks trading should be banned. People shouldn't be allowed to setup stalls and shops on sidewalks. The local Govts that collects taxes from these market women ought to be fired, jailed or both. Governor Alex Otti is doing a maverlous job, trying to modernize Abia State with all these developments. If there's no space in the main market, then they should go do something else. In Asia there are night markets on different streets on different days, so if you can't sell all your wares during the day you can sell them for a cheaper price to clear your goods.

Is it possible to build a modern market along this road and relocate these market women there so that the side roads can be built into a proper walk way for pedestrians and cycles. It is very risky selling by the road side to avoid heavy vehicles losing control and ramming into them. Those areas housing their shops should be turned into pedestrian and cycle lanes. If this is not done we won't recognise how dirty this road will look in just one week, and if the drainage is not closed bet me they will fill it up in less than one year with the refuse they are generating from the market. There should be a law to make littering a crime and well designated modern refuse containers as is applicable abroad. I saw some market women still placing their wares on the tarred road, this is not acceptable. Kudos to Alex Otti.
@user-zx9vk4ks6z24 күн бұрын
Good, especially if the roads are marked with lanes indicating pedestrian and cycle lanes as well as pedestrian crossings. I heard one lady saying in Ibo "onye mee dorti, e rie ya iwu" i.e. whoever drops litter would be fined" meaning that the traders themselves expect some anti-littering rules to be in place.
