Who will win against Archers? | Age of Empires 2

Let's find out who will win against archer units, the Huskarl from the Goths with extra hidden bonus damage against archers, the Ghulam from the Hindustanis which also has bonus damage against range units, or the Eagle warrior and more specific the Mayan eagle warrior with extra hit points, almost the double?
Let's see how they will perform against Mangudai, Longbomen, Rattan archers, Rathas chariots, Arbalesters, camel archers, heavy cavalry archers amd many more.
What are you thoughts on them?

Fun Fact: Incan FU Eagles have the same pierce armor as Huskrls

This test doesnt show the whole picture. There must be fights in big numbers, im sure ghulams would do much better in them, fo example

However Huskarls are still better in any fight against archers, even with their piercing damage, the ghulams are not even close in comparison to the tankiness the huskarl gives you, I think the ghulam to be a better soft counter to archers, since the Hindustanis themselves doesnt have great opctions against archers

Even In big numbers, if archers are in staggered formation, then Ghulam will still perform way worse than Huskarls.

Huskarls is better than ghulams. Because CA in castle age have 6+2 attack 。But Goth eco are not good to win the federal fight .

@@felixsuarez7663ghulams have their own advantage of being faster and better against a lot of other units . But ya against archers huskarals seem better not by a lot though

Also gives a slight edge to the fastest units so speed will also be a factor as in real games. Thanks for the comment

I think that the Inca EEW is more anti-archer than the Mayan one, because it takes one damage from most archers instead of two. Because of this, against a fully upgraded arb, they take 10 more shots, and even more if the archer has 7 base attack like cav archers and a lot of unique archers do. The composite bowman, however, is an exception to this.

@@DemonAgeOfEmpires2-wf8lv Thanks! Maybe you should also include Burmese cavalry and the Savar as well. Or, you could make a separate video on anti-archer cavalry if it becomes necessary and you desire to do that.

Huskarl is Huskarl. I have two questions. 1. What script do you use for two armies to attack each other? 2. I really like the scenes and environments you create for each video. Why not use max graphics for them?

@@pillbox2079 I use triggers, not scripts. I have some tutorial in my older videos if you want to check them out. Check my playlists and you will find them. 2-I do use max graphics. I don't know they come out this way. It's the rendering process that ruins them, despite using 4K capture etc..

A follow up series could focus on which of these five civilisations counter Armenians the best! Which of their supporting units could lead to their main anti archer unit triumphing over the likes of Composite Bow compositions!

i think balista isnt archer class so no bonus damage ... instead cav class and eagel have cav bonus attack

It is because a ballista elephant is both siege (+5 bonus to eagle attack) and cavalry (+4). This is almost as good as the attack bonus vs monk (+10).

Dude. You made your test wrong. The inca eagle is better against archers. Is the one with more armor. This simple fact break your whole test

Mayans have more hp, that is more impactful against certain matchups like composite bowman. And aztec eagles have more attack which leads to faster kills, so less shots taken. There's an argument to include all 3 eagles. But if you're only including one, the Mayan eagle is considered to be the strongest in general so I would pick Mayan as well.

@@muller07 mayans have almost double the health. The +2 armor of incas is inferior. I did a comparison not long ago between them.

@@DemonAgeOfEmpires2-wf8lv yes i saw it. And against arbalesters incas was the better...as was in SOTL videos. The mayan is really better weel rounded. The azteca can kill faster. But the +2 in armor makes it count.

In the terms of this its obvious to say : Huskarl %100 anti-archer Eagle Warrior is flexible between anti-archer and anti-cavalry Gluham? sorry they aint any good imo

Eagles arent anti cavalry at all. The correct way to see their anti cavalry bonus is as a way to make sure they dont get completely outplayed even by light cavalry. Because even scout line, which is both the cheapest and weakest cavalry line tends to trade very well vs eagles.

Ghulam are good vs groups of archers because of their penetrating damage, which is not seen here at all

@@BirikinPrimaryhow are Eagles any good against anything other than archers? They pretty much lose to all melee cavalry. At least, Huskarls are great against archers, decent against other infantry, and are dirt cheap and quick to produce. If anything, Huskarls are more flexible than Eagles.
