Then you haven't really watched the Netherlands game either. Got 0-1 down due to a huge backline mistake, then were better the rest of the first half, but they again were very weak in the second half until both teams started to put in substitutes. Yes, they won, but they weren't terrifying at all. And then there is France, who famously always play terrible in friendlies. They simply don't care about friendlies. The German backline is their Achilles heal. If they can prevent silly mistakes like against the Dutch, they can go far. I doubt they'll win though.

Germany struggles against teams that press high and aggressively. France and the Netherlands didn't do that. Quite the opposite, France practically stood on the field, almost no pressing at all. Similar to Germany against Portugal Euro 2021. High-pressing opponents like Mexico, Japan, Hungary, and probably Scotland will once again expose Germany's major weaknesses.

@@GermanMidfielder25 you are right, Germany is strong and can get into finals with motivated departing Kroos and home terrain, but not if they are INCONSISTENT and UNDERPERFORMING (this is what I meant by “weak”, wrong choice of word); Look at some of the previous results, such as 4-1 loss to Japan (very heavy loss), losses to Austria 2-0 and even Turkey, goalless draw against Ukraine … That type of performance can not bring anything, only if Germany increases its level to its potential and strength can it expect something, and in that case something very good. My hope is finals between Croatia and Germany because of Kroos and Modric

True. ITA also lost in 2002 WC (1-2) and 1996 Euro qualif (1-2). Otherwise draws in official games, BUT ITA always progressed, even if they lost. GER officially never beats ITA (2016 penalties officially a draw), and they likely play each other in round of 16. ITA also never beat the USSR in an official game.

As a german i have to say that germany play so good in euro2024. I mean in the years before, germany wasn't good, but now with Musiala, Kroos, Füllkrug and Wirtz germany is so strong and after many years, i really have a good feeling that germany can win the EM and it's been really fun to watch them play again for long time. I really hope that germany win but i also wish the other countries and their fans good luck. What i always find great about football is seeing how it connects our nations and the good atmosphere.
