One other thought - throughout the whole Greek recorded shows, shoutout to the dancers, who learnt however-many routines for each performance while each contestant learnt their one number...!

Loved this! Can you do a rewatch/recap of an old casting show? Because of this show, I went back and watched I'd Do Anything, and found it really interesting.

Glad you got to be there! To my surprise I ended up rooting for Owen over Tobias by the end - partly I loved his chemistry with both Stevie and Esme, partly I feel like maybe Tobias is a bit wasted in a smaller role like Sky and could suit something else better and Owen's career would benefit more - but obviously Tobias is fantastic as well and I'm not surprised he won. Was really happy Stevie won as she had stood out to me immediately as having a great vibe for Sophie (along with Maddy) and after Sophie week I thought they were both done for so it was amazing to see her come back so strong. Her performance on the broadcast was my favourite of the four as well especially given I've never generally liked that song. Esme was amazing as well though, they really were a perfect four for the finale. Hope that she and Owen get cast in things very soon! Was excited to hear about Zachkiel going into Back to the Future, thrilled for him! Thanks for doing these recaps, have really enjoyed having these to watch and comment n as didn't really have anyone to talk to about this show in person lol

Agreed it lost some of the intrigue without a live weekly vote, but it was a necessary sacrifice for this one as I doubt they could afford to keep the judges and production crew in Greece for 8-10 weeks! As much as it was great to have Judy Craymer in the ALW role from the old BBC shows, I think the next one should be for a show where they can have music creatives more involved. I doubt they need the extra attention but Six would be a perfect fit for this more good-vibes casting format with Marlow and Moss onboard, and would naturally bring in the younger demographic that ITV were clearly desperate for with all the odd Love Island editing in the first few episodes!

I have to admit, I voted as soon as the lines opened. I’ve had my choices picked for weeks. So Stevie and Owen got my votes 🎉 so happy she got it. But of course happy for Tobias, and I would’ve been happy with Esme too. They were all fantastic ❤

I moved to the UK one week before this show started and somehow was lucky enough to get a ticket for the final show! I absolutely loved it. Growing up in Ireland I'd seen many similar series over the years & wished I could be in some way a part of it so this was a dream come true. Delighted for Stevie & Tobias and have booked myself a seat for their opening night. I had actually gone into the final show believing Owen was the right Sky for me but seeing the performances live I felt that Tobias was the right fit and so voted for himself and Stevie. I have no doubt though that Esme and Owen will go on to have amazing careers in the West End and cannot wait to see them in shows for years to come. This was a really hard one....and for once I was in the position that I could vote which I'm so grateful for but ya it was a tough one.

I think it helped that the public also had all the previous weeks to judge off of instead of just these performances and also I don't know how it would've worked if they didn't open the votes before people performed

I remember being told to that performing early at something like Eurovision was worse because the audience are more likely to forget about you? It's kind of the same logic. A lot of art house films, begging for an Oscar, will very often release close to the end of the year and nearest to the actual voting process.

I have loved keeping up with these recaps week after week. Unfortunately I am outside the UK so no seeing the show for me, but as for the televised stuff, I would love if the old show format made a comeback. I used to love the live audience and elimination every week, with the different colour outfits based on the show (Joseph's different coat colour, different Nancy/Maria dress for each, etc.) IDK, I liked the Mamma Mia one, but I really miss the old style. It will be interesting to see what show they do next, I always feel with these it will have to be a character or show the public is familiar with to really get on board, but we'll see! :) Hope you feel better soon, Mickey!

I watched the live final with my Mother in Law who like a lot of the general public, is a huge fan of the film but has never seen the stage show. Her favourite was Esmé, more because of what she looks like but she did sing absolutely beautifully on the night. I felt it was very interesting that Stevie came on first, with the most well-known ABBA song of them all. I was also disappointed that the boys' songs were a bit rubbish or was that just me ? I think for a final, you want "bangers" do you not ? 😂 Anyway, my two faves won. The whole premise of this show was to celebrate the 25th anniversary with a new direction and I loved that Stevie sang in her own accent ! I am seeing Back to the Future in January so looking firward to seeing Tzakiel x Until then, thank you for the videos (see what I did there ?) Mickey Jo, Aeron, Ellie and Shaun. Does anybody actually know when the 25th anniversary of Mamma Mia is as I would love to get tickets for a gala performance 😊

I can see it working for young and middle Alison in Fun Home. I wouldn't use the tv casting process for (as the Irish production affectionally called) senior Alison as she's older and they would most likely all be known theatre actress's such as Frances McNamee. What do you think?

I told myself not to get into this show, but.... ah well 😂 I felt the skyes were given very appropriate songs, well-balanced and Tobias was miles ahead IMO. Is it just me, or did it seem slightly unfair that Stevie had a song that a) everyone knows and b) sophie sings it. I had never heard Esme's song before but it was a very strong performance. I felt Stevie was better for the part going through the series but it didnt seem they started on the same line. All 4 were excellent though, im sure we will see more from them all!

Please let us know what Esme and Owen will be doing on stage?

I was rooting for Stevie and Owen right from the start of the series but I was converted to Tobias during the live show. Ellie was right, Tobias pulled it out the bag on the night and definitely trumped Owen.

I'm sorry Esme lost but Stevie and Tobias were great at the Novelo. I went through all of Esme's performances and they chose ballads. I think she'd be a great Cosette in Les Mis

I knew 8 recognised Tobias when I first watched the show and only watching the finale did I realise I knew him from Archer Street, so he has worked there semi recently

I saw people on Twitter saying it was unfair that Steve got such a well known song and Esme didn’t - but the VTs implied that they chose their songs? Stevie said she was doing TYFTM because of the line “mother said I was a dancer before I could walk” because of her late mother. So I don’t think it’s possible that it could’ve been fixed. Esme must have wanted to perform My Love, My Life.

If the public are to be a more included part of the weekly judging then hopefully the 'expert panel' can get down to the bottom 2 and the public choose between them, rather than an entire public vote each week - the public vote way too much on personality rather than performance. I say 'expert panel' in quotes as I'm not entirely sure what Alan Carr was doing there... :P
