Thomas van Wijk We lost a world class player in Alexis but gained one of the best out-n-out strikers in world football. Not bad it you ask me. Also, losing Theo didnt hurt us at all, given that he's barely played and when he did he was dogshit. I have to admit that losing Giroud did hurt though. But overall, Arsenal are infinitely stronger than when the window started, especially with Ozil signing a new deal. Shouldve been higher on the list for that.

Sanchez became a parasite in the squad, by lowering the collective morale of the squad. He became disinterested and didn't put in the necessary effort to participate in the team. Contrast that with Coutinho who despite wanting out put in his upmost effort to score goals and make assists. Thus, Arsenal have actually became stronger by getting rid of Sanchez and have tied down Ozil to a contract.

luc connor-hartley of course they lost Sanchez but he was gone anyway. The most important part was özils contract and signing Aubameyang. Mkhitarian can be a fantastic player but he's not consistent enough. When he is on form though he is a top player. Considering their options they did great. However I'm annoyed at özil staying because he is probably the best 10 in the world and now wasting his last good years at arsenal when he could have gone to juve or another team

As a United fan I do think you's had good window, I'd probably say you had 2nd best window based on names & renewing Ozil. The reason why your only second for me is because you haven't really strengthened in areas you needed, i.e Keeper,Centre Half and a Defensive Mid before losing Coquelin in the process mind you.

It's not about the number of signings you make, it's about the quality of the signings and the circumstances. Arsenal sold two of their top goal scorers to rivals who already had better teams than them. Based on that alone Chelsea and Man Utd had better windows than Arsenal. And yes Man Utd only signed one player, but he just so happens to be one of the best players in the league, he immediately improves their starting 11, they took him from a rival and prevented another rival to sign him, AND they only had to swap him with a player that was vastly underperforming. I'd say that checks all the boxes of a fantastic transfer window.
