I'm glad you pointed out the attacks on the church, it was a little cringy to watch because the attacks were so deliberate and not subtle at all. It's like the writers had a vendetta against the black church and this episode didn't flow at all.

I dont know who the leaders of the writers' rooms are but there is a CLEAR BIAS since season 3 that d9esnt even seems remotely feasible in the real world and kinda seem like they doing stuff just to do stuff and this is an example of it.

They introduced Emmitt’s brother in a 30 second scene and had a 5 minute conversation with the PK and the gangster dude in the car talking about nothing … make it make sense

The way they wrote this episode is odd to me also. Jake getting the pastors wife just like that was out of his character don’t think Jake is the cheating type. They only made him that was due to everyone hating Jemma through the series and wanted to direct that hate to him. Also sad to say a lot of new age churches are money hungry passing the collection plate around 3 times I know.

I would've thought they would slowly put these things and others into play but they are just dropping bombs, which makes it unrealistic in my opinion.
