👋 My name is Ryan & at age 30 I quit my day job. I used to work full time as a Sr. Front End Web Developer (I quit this job), & part-time as an adjunct professor teaching web development at a local university (I kept this job - I like teaching!). Both of my day jobs were awesome! But that couldn't change the fact that I'm completely addicted to the idea of building passive income streams that will allow me to retire from ever working a 9 to 5 job again.

What I've learned throughout this e-comm journey is that sometimes "the niché chooses YOU, you can't choose the niché." Which is why it's good to try different things. That's why one person can sell something as simple as keychains and make thousands and someone else can follow the exact same blueprint and only make $10. Hang in there, you're going to reach your goals soon!

@@ChangeIdeas444 I sell digital downloads, apparel, mugs, water bottles etc…. It’s great during holidays. I can bring in over $5k just in December. But during these slow months I’m only making $400 a month. I try ads and everything. People don’t bite.

I need your input on one experience I had. I requested a shop critique for my POD shop on Etsy and all the mean people there replied that there was nothing on the store that was allowed on Etsy, even though I had designed the art printed on the products. They also argued that POD does not qualify as ‘handmade” which is shows how little they about art. I want your opinion on this because they threatened to shut down my store. I am never requesting a critique only. They are there to shut down the competition, IMO.

Awesome, I just started a small online hat store (that's how the video title got my attention) and I'm looking to build it out a bit but not to the scale he did, mine's very different than what he does of course and even though there are much bigger hat stores, there are still hundreds of small ones. I really believe there's still space in the market for what I do. His story is inspiring, I love the transparency.. and I super appreciate that he doesn't drastically undercut the smaller guys. Good interview and great story, thanks Ryan!
