Who Do You Think You Are?

Citizen Khan star Adil Ray identifies as Brummie, British, Muslim, Pakistani and African - his mum came to England from newly independent Kenya with her family in 1967. Heading back to east Africa, Adil traces his mixed Asian and African ancestry across Kenya to Uganda.
On the trail of rumours of a link to African royalty, Adil meets African relatives for the first time in the traditional kingdom of Buganda and is amazed to discover the truth about his lineage.

I think what this commenter is saying "we are what we are". Most of us with mixed ethnicity, race, culture and heritage get to experience different histories at once by growing up in mixed families and it's something to embrace. More often that not you'd find people ashamed of their mixed backgrounds and it's sad because they're ashamed of themselves.

This was interesting but not surprising. I always say that if more people did a DNA test there just might be less racism in the world. Long before the transatlantic slave trade, Africans were trading with various parts of the world. For instance, the Portuguese were trading in Nigeria and traders from West Africa crossed the Sahara to trade with Arabs and vice versa. Obviously this led to mixing which may not be obvious in physical appearances over time till you have a throwback.

DNA is Turkish becoz his father is Turkish. The bloodline follows the father not the mother.

@@Missydee-72 The seed comes from the father not the mother. The mother only carries the egg. The seed comes from the tree not the soil. The soil does not produce a seed of it's own. A woman is the soil that produces the egg, a man is the tree that produces the seed. Therefore the bloodline follows from father to son, not mother to son. Hence the seed is more important than the soil. I once met a french guy in the supermarket who told me he is Ethiopian. He went on & said that his father is French & mother is Ethiopian. I told him he is French not Ethiopian. He was very upset at my answer. He actually believed he was Ethiopian becoz of his mother 😂😂😂.

@@user-ns7dj1lo3r You sound very low class and ignorant. Who are you to laugh at anyone's makeup or cultural identity? Some cultures are, in fact, matrilineal, meaning they are by the mother and their traditions, properties are passed down because of their mother. Everyone does not believe as you do.
