Lucy Matthews So true. I used to do this more but I stopped. Not setting the table cause I didn’t have one at the time, but I’d use my nice dishes, my favorite wine glass, make my food look nice on my plate...now I’m always rushing! It’s similar to getting dressed, and putting even just a little bit of makeup on when you’ll be home all day. Self care, treating yourself well, making yourself nice even when it’s only for you. Our table is always covered with papers, I really need to get it cleaned up so I can do this!

I agree this interview wasnt the greatest but she has a point that everyone needs to listen to: Dont like what is going on with the President? Stop complaining about it and vote. And not just vote, but drive your friends and neighbors to vote. Register them to vote. Make them do early voting if avaialble.

NO! Vote on policy, and Bernie has been spouting the same policies for decades! He is the ONLY acceptable candidate, with decades of "receipts.." People want Warren, but she has many problems that people are not aware of. She is going to take corporate pac money and dark money in the General. She skipped the recent climate change forum to fundraise. She already did most of her fundraising before she said she'd only take small dollar donations! She is wavering on medicare for all and she also was a Republican 20 years ago and is just taking Bernie's ideas. She is a Wallstreet insider. She was allowed to do the CFPB probably as a "gimme" or shield, to have her be attractive and to throw some crumbs back to a few people, publicly reprimand some banksters that didn't change anything, and "bam" she got some people on her side, but if you look at a map of where donors come from, it's Bernie who is lighting up the nation!

She reads the TelePrompTer and occasionally makes valley girl voices. Other than that she sucks. Her interview with Bernie was terrible. She doesn't do her homework at all.

Not only that. She is also a talk show host she knows how this shite works. She knows how awkward it gets when a guest diverts the subject when there are a lost of questions that Stephen's team have spent hours working on. I love them both. Stephen handled it like a champ as always. I understand where Whoopi is coming from. We all get tired of our jobs. It must be hard for her to talk about anything else. Especially since she has so many other projects going on.

Whoopi is amazing. I was a bit unsure but giving some thought to it, I can see and respect where she's coming from. She's being honest and sharing how frustrated she is and where she is now (which is what Stephen Colbert wanted right: her thoughts and stance) RE Trump; she wants people to do things and herself included. And try to keep life going. And have some fun. She's communicating here for her own mental health she needs to not focus on the news and events for today. Which is good and I can get. :)

Stephen clearly felt a lil insulted the way she spoke coz she bashed him as if he was never gonna talk about her book. Since she's a public figure and some major news story broke he asked about it at the beginning(see the lady Gaga interview she was clearly interested in that story and it was one of the best interviews) Whoopi just assumed that Stephen just planned on talking about Trump and not her book. It kinda proved she doesn't really watch his show coz Stephen always promotes the guests work at the end. But Stephen did great job of just doing that at the start and handled the rest like a pro

I am unsure how this interview makes me feel. On the one hand, for her, talking about the current political state is effectively work. It's what she has to do every day. Anyone can understand not wanting to do more of that outside of work. However, I also see it as pretty disrespectful to Colbert. To come on the show and say you've never watched it and not expect to talk about those subjects. I am thinking she would have known before agreeing to come on how the show worked. It makes for a really uncomfortable interview and actually takes my interest away from her book which otherwise I think I would find interesting.

That would be like a guest coming to ‘The View’ and saying “I don’t give a fuck” to one of her questions she would go batshit crazy and probably grill them for being disrespectful... Whoopi is on TV and is a “political pundit” with so many strong opinions that OF COURSE you’re going to be asked everyday everywhere u go about politics and what u think in general.. and of all settings, she was asked in an actual interview/appearance... so ultimately all she was in this interview was a BITCH!

Wasn’t she brought on to discuss her BOOK? I can understand how she feels. She’s on ‘The View’ and that’s pretty much all they talk about .. TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP! It gets old! And since she disagrees 99% of the time on what Trump does she’s constantly attacked for her VIEWS and OPINION! How would you feel? I agree with her. We Americans are so divided that we cannot have a simple conversation with one another and most will not accept OR respect another person’s opinion and thoughts. We don’t have to agree with each other but we also don’t need to attack each other. It is sad to see where we as people and our country have gone.

Seemed like the bullet points of the conversation were pre-planned to me. She ended up talking about it a lot, but seemed like she wanted to deliver the sentiment that 1. It's cool to disengage from politics occasionally, and 2. Elections matter, so you better come back from that mental vacation and do your part.

I kind of feel this actually. I'm also a pretty introverted person, and controversial or confrontational discussions stress me out. As much as I believe it's important to be in the know, and discuss politics, it's just a relief to talk to someone interesting and learn something new without the potential minefields you know? Especially at a dinner party where just wandering away isn't really an option.

I'm sure that they invited her to speak on her book and maybe her role in the CBS movie The Stand based on the book by Stephen King. She didn't want to also speak about politics because from the beginning when the man in the White House was just a candidate she was warning America about his alleged crimes in his business dealings.

Whoopi was a VERY vocal activist for a barrage of things we now treat as normal, way before it became a trendy thing for celebrities to jump elbow deep into the deep end of activism and politics. It used to be seen as taboo and fringe (look at the way Jane Fonda was treated and the story twisted). I get it --- she's freaking tired and who can blame her?

I’m torn. On one hand I understand where she’s coming from, she does talk about politics every day on tv. She just wants to talk about something else. She wants to talk about her book, which she’s obviously very proud of. And you can see her face light up when she talks about her family and childhood. But on the other hand, it’s Colbert. You kind of have to expect a political question. I don’t think she was trying to disrespect him and I don’t think he was trying to be shady after the fact either.

I usually look forward to these interviews where two talk show hosts from different shows come together and talk about the current political situation from their perspective and this one was really disappointing. I've been very disappointed with Whoopi's view for some time now but watching this interview, I don't see that she did anything wrong. She just wanted to talk about something else and that's ok. At first it sounded disappointing, but her reason was on point. Her basic argument was "talk is cheap, take action." So we've been watching this every nite laughing and criticizing Trump, but pretty much that is most of us willing to do.
