The River2Sea Whopper Plopper is the hottest topwater on the planet right now! We've been fishing them for YEARS and are ready to give away the tricks, modifications, colors, and details that will help you catch more and bigger fish when throwing this awesome topwater!
From the finesse-sized Plopper 90 to the truly enormous Whopper Plopper 190, we explain how and when to use each bait to maximize your effectiveness.
The Whopper Plopper is deadly for Fall Bass Fishing! When the baitfish begin getting cornered by the bass on your lake and everyone else is throwing a crankbait, don't be afraid to tie on the plopper and swing for the fences!

Did you ever stop to consider he tried them all and narrowed it down to a few colors that work best?!? Nice that someone who fishes daily can do that for you so you don't waste money on a bunch of colors that under-perform compared to others.

Larry was definitely bitten by the 'homemade bug'. Many years ago a lot of us on the West Coast thought he was nuts with some of his Northeastern contraptions! He crossed the hemisphere of big game fish to Black Bass that started a big 'splash' in the industry. That a boy Larry... FHOF

What a great video! Last year I had an unfortunate encounter with a small jaw that didn't want my whopper plopper rear treble in his mouth. He flipped into my hand. 2 of the 3 hooks in to the bone!! I had it surgically removed and they had to cut the split ring and hook obviously. I contacted River 2 Sea about it and they sent me new split rings and hooks and I noticed that they are a higher quality than the original hook and split ring so they are stepping up their game in that aspect! Great company and a fantastic bait!

The note about the hard bottom makes a TON of sense. The lake that I spend a majority of my time on is mostly rock. However, I tend to get bites on the WP around softer bottoms. I can see how the loud sound could be bouncing around on the hard bottom either spooking or confusing the fish.

Matt and Tim, as always, thank you for the great video guys! I live in SC and picked up a 130 bream color last week to throw on small ponds. It absolutely destroys them. All sizes of bass too! Very informative, thanks! I'm mostly a pike fisherman, and dont really like topwaters much. Over the years though, I've notice that in very dirty water pike sometimes have an easyer time finding a lure on the surface, so I'm thinking I'll pick up a couple of these just to throw when the water is dirty, and hopefully turn around some slow days.

I've made it just shy of 2 minutes into this video and already know it's on point. No surprise with you guys though... Grew up bass and musky fishing in the north/midwest and canada. Plopper is a musky bait that's been brought to the bass world. Everybody loves topwater, so musky fishing I'd always have one of bucher's top raiders on the front deck. Didn't take me long to realize I was catching more really big bass while out musky fishing than while actually bass fishing -- and not just largemouth. Caught quite a few big smallmouth on them too. That's an 8" bait that's like 2+ oz...and they'd come un freaking glued on it. It's pretty awesome to see that all these years later somebody (you guys) is putting so much of this awesome info out there. Connecting a ton of dots from a ton of big bass days with a musky rod in hand!

I just got the Whopper Ploppers in my arsenal over a year ago and they are simply DEADLY here in the Florida lakes and ponds... I still have to try them in the Everglades and I am certain that it will be an absolute slaughter house of a bait in those waters. Perhaps one of the best baits I have in my box.

Hey man! Loved the video! I seriously just discovered the whopper plopper this year. Central Ohio. I have turned many of my friends onto it and ABSOLUTELY love the Yoda color in the 90 for smallmouth fishing in the river. They destroy it! I’ve also gotten a double (yes two smallies on one bait at a time) using it like a POPR. If it doesn’t work I switch over to a tube or Senko lol. The whopper plopper is absolutely one of my favorite all time baits!

My favorite type of bass fishing is top water. I’ve been seeing the whopper plopper craze for a long time but I’ve never joined in on it. I had a few Karl’s bait and tackle gift cards laying around that had little odd amounts left in them after big purchases. Had enough to get me 3 ploppers. Man I’m glad I did! I’ve been missing out. Most fun top water fishing I’ve ever had! I got them all in 110 size. I may try a 130. I love them. I got a bone, black, and shad color!

Minn Kota on SpotLock or Motorguide Xi5 on AnchorLock will change the way you fish. I know my Xi5 is one of the best investments I have ever made for my Triton 240 LTS. Get the Gateway cable to link it to your Lowrance HDS and it's dynamite. .

I just bought 3 of the 75's and 3 of the Ozark Trail too. Can't wait to see how they work. Rumor has it they don't work as good in Michigan.

Awesome video again. Mine destroyed my braid I had. Got some slime in the joint, plopped body spinning, unwound my 8 strand braid especially since I didn't notice it doing that and didn't add a swivel until 3 casts later. 🤦‍♂️.

Thanks for reinforcing what I knew and providing some new knowledge on the Plopper. Have you tried three BP version with the prop at both ends?

I love my perch colored popper. I need new hook, I have a small 200 acre pike gold mine I fish and they bent and even broke off a point on the front treble. It blows my mind how angry pike get with the whopper poppers. I was catching them on a 4.25 swimbait as well and the fight and strikes were totally different.

I replaced my trebles with the red mustad. The hook on the back of the plopper being a white feather tied mustad hook. It works FANTASTIC
