And 50%(25 millon) of South Koreans live in a densely populated small city of Seoul(Capital). Just imagine how much damage NK can do just by targeting Seoul. So NK will win the war due to Nuclear capabilities. And US won't take the risk of sacrificing their cities, economy, families and children for a small foreign country like Korea. Don't think US would do such sacrifice after seeing what NK did to SK cities. So US won't intervene.

Honestly, the distance between Pyongyang and the DMZ is just over 150 kilometers, but the possibility of KJU not stupid use of nuclear warheads in the narrow central part of the Korean Peninsula, or in the southern part of the country, which could also affect Japan, would converge to zero if he had at least no learning and mental insanity. It would even take much more than that. NK having any chance of seeing a war through depends on China stirring up trouble with Taiwan _and__ Japan, Russia invading in Europe and all of that in a surprise attack no one sees coming. That is essentially impossible to pull off, you cannot conceal troop movements of that scale; Russia was amassing forces on the border of Ukraine for more than a year before the eventual invasion, and it would need much more to make a dent when it comes to NATO territory. China likewise cannot go for Taiwan undetected, it would be signalling that amphibious operation months in advance. NK is the only one that this scenario hinges upon that can actually 'hide' forces before such an invasion, but then again, NK going it alone may start the war, but cannot see it through.

I am not sure that is accurate at all. For one North Korea does not need ICBM's to hit South Korea it has a massive amount of options to deliver nukes to devestate SK's ability to fight and a big part of this that sometimes people forget is that the capital of South Korea - Seoul is only 16 miles from the NK border. 16 miles. Thats a flight time of seconds. That means pretty much any delivery system for nukes is viable and very hard if not impossible to intercept as saturation would be a simple thing for NK to achieve and that means Seoul is gone minimum which even if NK ultimately loses the war SK will also not survive. In a war with NK it is hard to see a situation where NK wins or SK survives the main question is Japan being targeted and if THAT could be intercepted but remember. NK has nuclear submarines now. It gets more dangerous every day. Any war NK starts is likely to start with a nuke on Seoul to show NK willingness to use nukes and the threat that any American nuclear response will result in Japan being targeted will be a strong deterrent. Unlikely but it could work i mean look how the USA is tip toeing around Russia and NK has a lot less to lose.

@@Flintlockon first off, they would never get anywhere near the border. The US would see them on satellites pretty much right after they started trying to move them to begin with. Second off ICBMs don't fly that quickly instantaneously they take a good while to get up to speed. It would never get up to high speeds if it was only 16 miles. It would be shot down instantly at the very slow speeds that it was going. The US is always stationed at the border there and is constantly monitoring for exactly this thing. There's no chance at whatever reach Japan. Japan has no reason to worry. Again, the most likely thing to happen is it would be blown up in NK's own airspace Edit. Also the US isn't tip toeing around Russia. It's openly funding and providing weapons to Ukraine. Also, the US is response to Russia has a lot more to do with Biden than it has to do with anything else. The fact that we're even started is because Biden is in office. Same with North Korea being more aggressive. Biden never honored our agreements with them

They dont need to use ICBM's they can fire there missiles from planes or cruise missiles from miles and miles INSIDE NK's border and obliterate Seoul and all SK and US forces can be ready for it but it does not matter if the war opens with a nuke strike the only option is preemptive war and then NK has the high ground to use any and all nukes it has in it's defence and they are just as ready for an American attack on it's rocket forces and only need a few to survive they have had DECADES to prepare for this. Because of the distance it is a triviality to saturate any air defence the North Koreans could litereally launch a thousand or more conventional cruise missile and even artillery and when a thousand cruise missiles are flying the 16 miles to Seoul and only five of them are nukes mixed in there is 0% chance of stopping them all and that is just one scenario. NK could fly a squadron or multiple of jets with nuke bombs under there wings alongside a massive conventional missile strike of which NK has LOOOADS of conventional missiles to saturate air defence. If you are imagining a single lone ICBM streaking out of the upper atmosphere for all air defence to concentrate on that is just completely wrong. If NK is intent on a nuke strike on Seoul there is no way to stop it part from preemptive action which is impossible. There is no way a major armed invasion of NK by the US would be allowed or tolerated by China with the invaded country on it's border so NK has the first shot and if they decide to open with a nuke strike against Seoul to cripple the SK ability to fight then that is almost impossible to stop.

@@UchihaSumairu The reality is this attack if it occurs will be in combination with a chinese attack on Taiwan and the US will be stretched to say the least and a good chance they back out especially if the last guy returns and is president and he does not want to give millions of American lives and risk a nuke strike on Hawaii (very possible) for a country he does not care about especially as Kim is his love interest and he is a fan of Xi so SK is on there own with a big radioactive hole for a capital. The danger is real and war must be avoided. Both China and NK are gearing up there rhetoric and preperations for the US election this year as it means there is a good chance that the USA can be kept out of a war between China /Taiwan and NK/SK and the president who stays out of it will be congratulated by his side for saving American lives and staying out of foreign wars especially as both of these conflicts involve esentially Koreans fight Koreans and Chinese fighting Chinese and if the USA steps back the only thing other nations can do is denounce and object but it wont change anything. This is a real possability and no Japan is not safe for the same reasons as SK apart from they do not need fear actual invasion only destruction especially if China is operating against Taiwan at the same time the conflict is too broad and the escalation is real and we have seen how cautious and fearful the USA has been around Russia the USA could abandon this region if the initial attack is bold enough and as we see with Russia sometimes they roll the dice. All of this goes double if the USA is involved in a war with Iran in the middle east lets hope that does not happen. I predict if the USA gets involved with a war with Iran this year the invasion of Taiwan and possibly SK is very very high. They seem to be getting ready for it.

Any marine who's been stationed there will tell you that. Normal missiles would just get shot down way before they got anywhere dangerous. They wouldn't even get into North Korea. They'd get shot down in the North Korean border the same way that missiles got shut down by Israel and other countries. There are a lot of different systems and place to prevent exactly the situation from being a problem Edit also the plain idea is the worst because North Korea has no real air superiority in that area. They don't even have the slightest chance of getting an air wave through. I don't think you understand the scale of modern radar and satellite data on top of that. Even a planes radar would see other planes way before it got anywhere near the border. Especially if there's any fifth generational fighters from the US there. They're very well may be. And on top of all of that, a lot of the claims nk thinks about their technology is a lie.

hey im a korean too. and i agree with you... the only problem is that we're near china and russia and they have different opinions about the russo-ukranian war. When south korean government officials claim that they fully back Ukraine, we (South Koreans) have quite a large chance of losing profit as most of our products, like Samsung phones and Hyundai/Kia cars are bought by chinese and russian middle-class customers. Russia already banned korean car manufacturers. So, while it's sad that we cannot directly support Ukraine with weapons, I do sincerely hope that our government will help Ukrainians with humanitarian aid.

@@kxzvc For the short-term, yes, S.Korea does want to keep its economic ties to authoritarian regimes like China & Russia for profit... But in the long-term, this is a grave mistake being made by S.Korea. If S.Korea ever faces a similar situation like in the Korean war, why should western democracies come to S.Korea's aid if it never helps other democracies during their hour of need?
