I happen to work in the legal system. 98% of the laws that govern marriage were created by men. The majority of judges that enforce those laws are men. The majority of Congress and Senate are men. If men do not like what’s happening to them there is no excuse for not changing it.

Reminder: These are the consequences of negative relationships. Those who grow up, self reflect, assess their own issues, make improvements and find a partner who has done the same, they get the side of marriage and family that people tell stories about. They get loyalty, respect and unconditional love people strive for. Marriage is only a shitty experience for those who do not take the time to learn about what they are signing up for.

Woman here. Addressing both parties in any relationship- learn to negotiate, understand contract law. IF you choose to get married, understand what role the silent party (government) will have in that contract, and both human parties discuss.

Yes the majority of men are the larger financial provider, BUT the women sacrifice their career for the WHOLE family. She will either work part time, or be a full on stay at home mum. So yes she will get a pay cut and be doing UNPAID work, of being a caregiver to the kids, keeping a home, make and keep appointments and the majority of the time run the finances like a well run ship, so how many hours does the woman work?? probably 100+hours without financial compensation. I’m not saying that men don’t partake, but let’s be honest the majority don’t and I wish that wasn’t true. Just because the men are the financial providers let’s not forget the unpaid duties that women actually do in a family dynamic.

Males are the ones who suffer inflammation with a break up, women do not. The happiest demographic is single, childfree women. More women are breaking free of the delusion and are opting out of relationships with men altogether.

So, the fix to this, revolt against the status quo! Get married, for goodness sake take your vows seriously, & screw society. Society is only as strong as we make it. What you tolerate will soon dominate. Stop allowing disrespect, the terrific thing is you just have to be firm & authoritative to achieve this. I personally know a few women who are the ones paying child support and alimony to their exes. These women were the primary breadwinners in their marriages... If men are worried about the financial aspect of divorce, one solution could be to seek out high earning career women for marriage. There are plenty of women like that nowadays... Or just don't get married at all. That's fine too.

I see this changing for custody in many states. In CA - men - whether good or bad dads are automatically afforded half custody. That is always what they work for when it comes to kids - and that’s whether they are married or not.

I got married to a man who didn’t put effort into becoming a provider, I’m the breadwinner and provider, after 20years of marriage, he cheated and disrespect me and finally after so many failed attempts to work things out, i filed for divorce, unfortunately I had to pay for everything and because i have more money I will be forced to give him half of everything that I have earned, i feel so defeated and sad but God is giving me strength to keep moving forward because I have a son that is watching everything and I can’t fail him now.

Marriage is costing social security a lot of money. The non working wife gets 50% of the social security the husband earned during his life. It explains why the government is not at all invested in preserving marriage. Always follow the money !

Whether you get married or not, living with a partner is legally considered having a spouse in Australia, and I take it also in other countries.

A 50/50 property distribution upon divorce is only automatic in states with joint property rules. Not all states have those. Property obtained before the marriage stays with whomever got it. Aside from this, you can have a pre-nuptial agreement to override automatic rules. Many studies show that health statistics are far better for men married to women than for women married to men. They also show that those women do the majority of housework and childcare vs. their husbands, even when the woman has a full-time job. Single women have the best health stats. There is zero upside for women to marry a man, per health stats. Most husbands don't carry the load of a relationship or a family, and they rely on their wives to coddle them emotionally and practically. Women get sick of it, as shown by about 70% of divorces being initiated by women. As for kids & divorce- not true what you said, Sebastian. Most men are not primary childcare givers by their own choice. Most men don't even want full custody of their kids. Some want joint custody. If the man wants custody, he can petition the court for it. The court weighs many elements in granting custody and visitation rights for parents. The standard is what is in the best interest of the kids. The primary caretaker has the advantage. If men want to opt out of caring for their kids during marriage, they set themselves up for the wife getting custody. Child support is set based on income and other factors. Many men don't pay child support at all, some pay sometimes but are behind.

Kids cleaning cooking grocery shopping driving everybody around. Men provide and come home and most do nothing. So they get to go to lunch breack and breath and come home and breath.
