Imagine if Chennai airport redesign it's layout,it can sure handle A380...Chennai airport could easy take 30%more load just by redesign...remember each engine generates 33 tons of load....easy throw even a fully loaded bus

1:58 runway length is sufficient aana our runways are not built to handle the weight of a380s, they are brittle. will crack under a380s colossal weight. this can be seen by the usage of the very different double bogey landing gear used by Indigo's A320s. So that plane can be pushed back onto the taxiway without having to use reverse thrust, affecting the terminal or other aircraft. Once on the taxiway, the a380 only uses 2 engine thrust for taxi. As he said Terminal is not only a reason. Though towing and taxiing are also a head scratching task, main reason is the operational cost. Like Hemant said, the airline has to fill 70% of the aircraft for each operation to make profits. Due to high fuel consumption and inability to fill the aircraft reported by the customers, airbus ceased the productions of A380 a year ago.. Operational cost of super jumbos are relatively high especially for A380s.. and also less demand in India.. as of now only Emirates and Singapore airlines operates A380 services to Mumbai and Delhi respectively.. and the flights are almost empty all the time.. imagine for Chennai.. 😅😅 let’s say if Emirates operates A380 from chennai to dubai, they will go in loss in this particular route as this is one of the busiest route from chennai. Passengers always choose a cheaper option which is always available.. A380 is undeniably a beautiful Aircraft.. can comfortably call it as the King of Skies but it is not for this generation. Widebodies such as 787,777,350,330 are way more cost effective and can be easily filled.

Delhi is 1, Mumbai at 2, Bangalore at 3, Hyderabad at 4, Kolkata at 5. I hope Ahemadabad which is at 7 will not overtake Chennai very soon. Facilities at Chennai airport should be improved like Bangalore to attract more passengers.

Aaham... Am sorry to say this.. ever since the Govt changed from 2014 till 2021... There was nothing for the state of TN, a lot happened in that time. But there were no steps taken to advance the betterment of people. Now to come back to what we were before 2014, it will take atleast 7 yrs of time.

What do you mean. A350 comes almost every. Air India has daily service now. Air France has regular service of A350. Qatar, Singapore etc the send A350 based on necessity. Don’t worry bro. Aircraft Assignment to an airport is done based on operational requirements such as occupancy, profitability, frequency of flights on that particular route etc. they have to fill the seats.
