I met Aaliyah in Detroit too. She was giving out samples of her single back and forth before it came out. She was really sweet and was very excited about it. It was a dope experience. I also met Alicia Keys at Heart Plaza before she became famous. When I saw them both again, later in their career, I was really impressed by how down to earth and incredibly humble they were. Sorry about your friend! Lost too many young people way too soon. ❤

Aaliyah stayed down the street from me in Detroit. Her house is in Sherwood Forest off Warrington between Pembroke & 7 Mile. I stayed on Warrington closer to 8 Mile. Her father, Mr. Haughton, would be outside washing his Epedition & cutting the grass & would always speak to us when we would pass riding bikes, giving us game. I met Aaliyah @ Focus Hope when she was on her promo run for Age Ain't Nothin But A Number. She was real. R.I.P.

I’m quite sure Kidada has many photos oh her and Aaliyah just chilling out. Pics we’ll probably never see. Because those are things she’s keeping close to her heart forever.
