The Millennium Tower Abuja is the tallest building in Abuja. standing at 170 meters.
The project which started in 2005 was supposed to cost 69.3 billion nairas, but it is yet to be completed despite the huge amount of money that has been spent.

Nigeria is not a serious country. As I said on another video, Abuja is still lacking the uniqueness of a country capital after being the capital for 30 years of one of the biggest oil producing nations. The only effort is put into the sprawling estates where the rich go and barricade themselves. The seriousness of a nation cannot be determined by how many estates are built for the rich (which are mostly vacant!) rather it’s about how the nation looks after ALL its citizens from ALL walks of life. Anything that can benefit Nigerians from all walks of life is given little effort and usually abandoned.

A piece of advise to Federal Government, call neither Dangote, Bua, Jaiz bank, or any private organizations to invest in building it under MoU for some years after their returns on capital and profit, FG should take over the control of the project after completion.

These abandon projects cost money money that could have been used to help people by building homes, improving electricity, roads , schools , etc. but instead they spent money and there's nothing to show for the money! These people who started these projects should be locked away in a jail. Also, Nigeria is a beautiful country but, you all need to clean the trash up from the side of the roads, streets, etc. because that takes away from the beauty!

This why young Nigerians will get thiers voters cards ready to vote competent peoples into office and also its high time Nigerians youths enter politics to influence political policies, times have gone when some will say vote does not count in Nigeria, those who think that way, should also ask themselves why some selfish politicians buy off people's votes? Wise up Nigerians youths, take same energy you displayed in ENDSARS and use your voter's cards and kick all those incompetent and corrupted leaders out and shape thier for your futures and for upcoming generations, UP Nigeria. Loved this video David! It was definitely thought-provoking and the whole matter is very unfortunate. Now I may be wrong but the only way I see this project being completed is by large companies (most likely foreign) investing. It seems like a very promising investment and it behooves me as to why it has sat there so long. Aside from financial constraints, I wonder if there is some other issue/s preventing its completion; e.g. design or safety constraints...??? Shucks, is the man even still alive???
@DavidNkwa
@DavidNkwa 2 жыл бұрын
Hello Miss MOG. Thanks for watching and commenting. I think the main issue is funding. The present Abuja/FCT Minister has not done well in pushing development in Abuja, because that's his job. Yes a big company is needed to take advantage of this great project, which is why I did the video. The project would have been completed if the administration that started have continued in office.

@@DavidNkwa David...I have monitored this project right from inception, there's definitely nothing wrong with the design or having safety issues as you have said. Your caption "bullshit" is fitting. A KZfaqr in Abuja recently showed this place and was wowing all over the place about it. My comment then was that this is a big elephant mess that is typical of misguided and wasteful policymaking in Nigeria. And now you're asking private citizens in the Diaspora to throw in their hard-earned money into the monstrosity? Unbelievable!

I believe it has potential to generate money for any investor. However, the investor will have to state their terms and do their research before investing. The project in itself is not bad, is just that it was wrongly planed from the beginning an the present leadership in Nigeria have no vision

Projected car park annual revenue of only $230k per annum?! That's even based on the MOST OPTIMISTIC scenario. Forget that! Do you realise what the debt financing costs would be...there'll barely be enough EBIDTA income to operate the car park, service debts, maintain the structure and pay the staff. Parking costs would have to rise significantly.

You Nigerians are very very smart but, this is not the only abandon project in Nigeria. Listen, What is wrong with some Nigerians? You all give your money to foreign countries like China, America, etc. while the country as a whole suffers! Nigerians are some of the most educated people in the world but, you all don't want to work hard. You all want easy money doing easy stuff like depending on oil and agriculture! Why not building computers and research and development? Things that make money!

Just looking at it from an architectural point of view... considering the cheap materials used and the simplicity of the design proves that this was a scam in the purest sense of the word. This should be nowhere near even the cost of a $200 million dollar complex. In San Antonio, Texas USA they built a taller observation tower (230 meters) for only a fraction of the price ($5.2 million dollars in 1966 or $31 million at the time of Millennium Tower's construction.). Nothing I've seen in the video can justify such a bloated amount of expenditure and it's obvious that rampant corruption, theft and inefficiency all worked together to stall this project.
