Why 11kV, Why 3-ph, Why 50Hz: • Why & How Series Q & A ?
Q & A
Q If the average value of signal is not zero can we store electricity
A. The average value can be stored, just relate with "Water tank with inlet at the bottom" to understand this. And AC is a time varying quantity so time cannot be stored, So Any form of time varying can never be stored.

Can you explain about why 220volts in single phase and 440Volts in three phase , why not 660volts ....
@m92singh

If I think conceptually you could store AC power in a rotating object such as a flywheel. Spin up the flywheel using a motor and then once up to speed decouple from the motor. Then you couple with the motor without providing a power source. You can use the rotational energy in the flywheel to to drive the motor or use the motor attach to a load or as a generator. This is crude and perhaps not very efficient, but it's an interesting thought I had of 'some' way you could store AC power. So not impossible, if you had lots of excess AC power, you could use a giant flywheel (or any rotating mass set up with efficient bearings), to hold onto as much power as possible and extract it in AC form by coupling a motor.

but why AC capacitor can store the energy?
@phoeNYkx
@phoeNYkx 4 жыл бұрын
Not entirely true. A large reservoir of water with huge potential energy (due to its relative height from generating station) is quite literally a storage or "battery" used for generating AC power. Or perhaps an inverter. Yes, you'd be charging batteries with AC power and also final output is also AC during discharge phase.
