Thank you. ഓരോ താപനിലയിലും അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിൽ താങ്ങാവുന്ന humidity level വ്യത്യാസമാണ്. താപനില കൂടുതലാണെങ്കിൽ കൂടുതൽ നീരാവി താങ്ങാൻ കഴിയും. അതായത് അന്തരീക്ഷ താപനില കുറയുമ്പോൾ relative humidity കൂടും. ഉദാഹരണത്തിന് 35 degree ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ 50% relative humidity ആണെങ്കിൽ താപനില കുറയുമ്പോൾ അത് കൂടി കൂടി ഏകദേശം 23 degree ആകുമ്പോൾ 100% എത്തും - അപ്പോൾ condensation നടന്ന് dew ഉണ്ടാവും. അപ്പോൾ 35 degree താപനിലയും 50% relative humidity ഉള്ളപ്പോൾ dew point 23 degree ആണ്.

I appreciate your efforts. Please note that air coolers are not supposed to be used in a concealed area. Use it in an open area. To cool the box place the cooler outside the box and direct air to the box and check temperature.

Thanks. Even when used in a ventilated area, evaporative air coolers are not a good cooling solution for humid places as evident from the temperature chart shown.

Superb video! I agree completely with your views and I am equally impressed with your explanation. I have been using an air cooler since one year. Last year when I purchased the cooler, relatively the previous year (2023) was not this hot. However this year (2024) has turned out to be hotter and it will only keep increasing. I noticed what you very well explained. My room was closed and I started feeling more hotter but as soon as I exited the room into the living area, I noticed it's actually cooler there than my own room. I was beginning to wonder how and speculated whether the cooler was not working at its best condition, given the purchase was only a year ago. Thank you for the very informative video and continue doing so!

Excellent narrative flow to the video ,even though I knew the actual reason why aur coolers are not effective in Kerala, the video gave more insights and real world test results that solidified my understanding,brilliant. ഞാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞ 5 വർഷമായി കൂളർ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്... കൂളർ ഒരിക്കലും ഒരു ac ക്ക് പകരം ഉള്ള ഒന്നല്ല... പകരം തണുത്ത കാറ്റ് തരുന്ന ഒരു ഫാൻ ആണ് കൂളർ... അതായത് അതിന് മുന്നിൽ കിടന്നാൽ മാത്രമേ തണുത്ത കാറ്റ് കിട്ടുകയുള്ളൂ... ഉറപ്പായിട്ടും ക്രോസ്സ് വെന്റിലേഷൻ റൂമിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം... അതായത് ac ഉപയോഗിക്കുമ്പോൾ എല്ലാ ജനലും വാതിലും അടയ്ക്കേണ്ടപ്പോൾ, കൂളറിൽ നേരെ തിരിച്ചാണ്.പരമാവധി ജനൽ തുറന്നിടുകയും റൂമിലേക്ക് പുറത്ത് നിന്ന് കാറ്റ് വരുകയും ചെയ്യണം... പിന്നെ കൂളർ ഒരിക്കലും ചുമരിനോട് ചേർത്ത് വയ്ക്കരുത്... കൂളറിന് പിറകിൽ ഒരു 4 അടി സ്പേസ് എങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടാകണം... പിന്നെ ഒരിക്കലും സൈഡിൽ water flow ഇല്ലാത്ത കൂളർ വാങ്ങരുത്... കൂളർ ഒരിക്കലും ac ക്ക് പകരം അല്ല. അത് ഫാനിന്റെ ചിലവിൽ തണുത്ത കാറ്റ് തരുന്ന ഒരു ഫാൻ മാത്രം ആണ്. നമ്മുടെ കാലാവസ്ഥയിൽ വേനൽക്കാലത്തെ ഉപകാരപ്പെടൂ... മറ്റുള്ള സീസണിൽ പമ്പ് ഓഫ് ചെയ്താൽ ഫാൻ ആയി ഉപയോഗിക്കാം... ചൂട് കാരണം ഉറക്കം കിട്ടാത്തവർക്ക് ഒന്ന് സ്വസ്ഥമായി ഉറങ്ങാം, കറന്റ് ബിൽ കൂടാതെ... അല്ലാതെ റൂം മുഴുവൻ തണുപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല...പിന്നെ ആദ്യത്തെ ഒരു മാസം ചെറിയ ജലദോഷം ഒക്കെ ഉണ്ടാകും.. പിന്നീട് ശരീരം അതിനോട് ഇണങ്ങും.. പിന്നെ എപ്പോഴും റൂം നല്ല ക്ലീൻ ആയിരിക്കണം.. കൂളറും പൊടി പിടിക്കാൻ പാടില്ല

റൂം തണുപ്പിക്കാം എന്ന് കരുതി cooler വാങ്ങുന്നത് മണ്ടത്തരമാണ്. humidity കുറഞ്ഞ ഉച്ചസമയത്തൊക്കെ മാത്രമേ ഇത് കുറച്ചെങ്കിലും തണുപ്പ് നൽകുകയുള്ളൂ. അത് മാത്രം വേണ്ടവർക്ക് തുറന്നിട്ട മുറികളിൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കാം. പക്ഷെ ഒരു ഫാൻ വാങ്ങുന്നതത്തിലും എത്രയോ അധികം കാശാണ് coolerന് കൊടുക്കേണ്ടത്.

@@ccccyyyghdlo3375 Humidity level കൂടെ പറഞ്ഞാലേ കൃത്യം ആകുകയുള്ളു. 33 C താപനിലയും 60% humidity (Real Feel 39 C) ഉള്ളപ്പോ ഫാൻ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാൽ കാറ്റ് കൊണ്ട് Real Feel temperature 25 C മുതൽ 28 C വരെയൊക്കെയായി കുറക്കാൻ കഴിയും.

@@ccccyyyghdlo3375 air cooler വാങ്ങി അബദ്ധം പറ്റിയവർ ധാരാളം പേരുണ്ടെന്ന് comment box നോക്കിയാൽ തന്നെ മനസ്സിലാകും. ആരും വാങ്ങേണ്ട എന്നല്ലല്ലോ ഞാൻ പറയുന്നത് - കാര്യങ്ങൾ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ ശേഷം നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥലത്തെ weather data നോക്കിയിട്ട് തീരുമാനിക്കാം. Accurate ആയി അറിയണമെങ്കിൽ വിഡിയോയിൽ കാണിച്ചത് പോലുള്ള ഒരു humidity meter മേടിച്ചാൽ മതി.

Absolutly correct but you can use an exhaust fan to reduce the humidity

Using exhaust fan and ensuring fresh air intake will help to not increase humidity much. But even then, air coolers are not a good cooling solution for humid places as evident from the temperature chart shown in the video.

Appreciate for the detailed explanation. You demonstrated working of cooler within a room. What if we keep it outside the room at our window. Will it show similar results or it will help to cool further.

Thanks. If kept in a well-ventilated area, it will limit the increase in humidity. But even then, it is not an effective cooling solution for humid places as evident from the evaporative cooling chart shown in the video.

വിഡിയോയിൽ പറഞ്ഞത് പോലെ അന്തരീക്ഷത്തിലെ നീരാവി ഘനീഭവിച്ച് വെള്ളമാക്കുമ്പോൾ അത് ചൂട് പുറന്തള്ളും. അതായത് Dehumidifier പ്രവർത്തിക്കുമ്പോൾ ചൂടുണ്ടാവും. അതുകൊണ്ട് രണ്ടും കൂടി ഒരുമിച്ച് വെച്ചാൽ തണുപ്പിക്കാൻ ആവില്ല.

Air coolers will work very efficiently but not the ones we get in India. Evaporative coolers in Australia are mounted on top of every house. The cooler pushes moist air through roof with a high pressure fan and the hot air escapes through all windows continuously. If the moist air cannot escape the house at that speed, it will become more humid and more hot.

As explained in the video, evaporative cooling is not efficient in humid places such as Kerala. In places with dry climate, it is an efficient solution.

Yes, dehumidifier will help keep humidity at a desired level and help reduce mold growth and other discomforts indoors. It is useful in humid places such as Kerala. Only thing to keep in mind is that it releases heat and is therefore not ideal when the climate is hot.

Humidity is the real issue. In riyad and dubai, even if the temperature goes up to 35°, the real temperature will be the same. But in kerala, when temperature goes 32°, it really feels like 40°, because of high humidity.

hi bro, very useful video. Can you clear one doubt... this is something which I saw a video recently, can we cool a small room with AC installed in another adjacent room by using exhaust fan on the sharing wall?

Yes, it's possible. But every AC has a capacity - if room size gets bigger, it cannot cool efficiently and fast. So, if they're small rooms, then one AC might be enough. Check specs first.

Glad it works for you, but evaporative air cooling is not an effective cooling solution in humid places as explained in the video and evident from the temperature chart.

കേരളത്തിൽ humidity താരതമ്യേന കുറഞ്ഞ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് പാലക്കാട്. അവിടെ കുറച്ചൊക്കെ പ്രയോജനം ഉണ്ടായേക്കാം - humidity കൂടിയ സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ അത്ര പോലും പ്രയോജനം ഉണ്ടാവില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ടാണ് temperature chart വിശദീകരിച്ചത് - ഓരോരുത്തർക്കും അതാത് സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലെ humidity നോക്കി തീരുമാനിക്കാം ഇത് ഫലം ചെയ്യുമോ എന്ന്.
