Omg i got hot spots from my mask. So happy I went under a 'Woods Lamp' light at school. The mask i was using said its ok if he lights touch the skin. The parts that touched my skin were the very location the lamp showed big brown spots forming😮. IM HORRIFIED. I hope its not perminent.😢

Im happy I caught it as soon as I did bc I would have definately kept using it completely clueless to the damage that was slowly taking form. . For the non-believers, I urge them to find a woods lamp asap and see for themselves. I do want to still use LED light therapy for other uses. What was the medical grade LED light therapy company you suggest called?

Dr. Abs I much appreciate your content, but would you please consider NOT adding music below your speech? It's very distracting and doesn't really add anything, in terms of production value. I know YT itself has been pushing their catalog with muzak, and every second content creator now adds it below their speech, instead of using it to bridge the gaps (if any exist) between talking segments. One third of people are auditory learners, and for us it's particularly annoying, but others (like myself) are not native speakers. A substantial number of people have hearing issues, and for these people the added noise (and that's how it is mainly processed) isn't exactly a joy either. If anyone would like to listen to music, there's so much quality music to be found on youtube and elsewhere: that's not what we are here for? Thank you for your consideration, and please don't take offense.

Dear Dr. Abs. ☺️ First of all, in my opinion, you are talking about issues that most doctors do not say or are afraid to say. And if you have time, I have a few questions: 1. Tretinoin : I try to use it every 2 days. I apply it to my face and neck. And I want to do this practice every day. Do you think this is a good idea? 2. Would you recommend me a LED mask, that is, for both face and neck? If yes, Which brand would you recommend? And do you think LED therapy is harmful to volume and fat and does LED thin the skin? Thank you very much.. by the way, your eyes are wonderful, mashallah 🤩☺️

I appreciate your content. I listened to all of your videos about led and am interested in purchasing one now. A new one from a big KZfaqr who is also a doctor in aesthetics recently hit the market and the marketing and his videos explaining it sounded promising - no heat, correct wavelengths, etc. But I was surprised the customer service would only give me the joules and then refuse to answer any other questions. Even when I told them my negative experience with another mask they wouldn’t give me any info on how they were different. They claimed to be patented but wouldn’t even tell me what was unique via the patent - the mask design, the bulbs, etc. It gets good reviews online but I’m going to save my money if they refuse to answer questions about the product. He had some other interesting looking products too but they unfortunately lost a purchase.

I suppose you could think of pulsed light as led that goes off every few seconds or whatever the interval is. I'm not a fan personally, but, broadband light in the form of Sciton BBL is fantastic in my opinion. My personal recommendation is to go for something like intofaces.com when the website goes live. It'll probably be around £299 so is more affordable than big panels. I haven't looked into the Maysama devices but maybe it can be a future video.

Would a panel be a good option, like the mito red light panel? Some mini panels cost less than the popular masks. Also, apparently there are some studies claiming red light therapy may cause fat loss. I'm not sure how legitimate these studies are, but maybe something to consider before using red light devices on the face?
@Dr_Abs
@Dr_Abs 9 ай бұрын
Panel or canopy doesn't matter - they're simply a means to an end which is even distribution without hotspots. So it matters more whether there's a loss of optical intensity due to the engineering. The big panels may have no hotspots but then they have the problem of thermal issues that can reduce optical intensity over time because there's so many. This is why I always say dermalux is the only brand with buying - they are literally the only manufacturer there has ever been who has managed to figure out how to get around these issues all at the same time. Fat loss would most likely be due to metabolic improvements and not the light directly as adipose tissue isn't a photoreceptor for red light.

What about the current body one ? I bought one , and it works , when i cut myself whith a razor blade, it heals faster. ( Its my experience). In the comments , i see that you might promotote the dermalux.. However this machine can be quite dangerous with the blue wavelength..I dont know if you mention it. Is it the goal to have more radiance. we clearly know that some masks gives more energy ? but is the goal ? some people wants just reducing inflammation, maybe? Moreover , is there a scientific consensus about redlight and its dangers ? I'm not a scientific, but if you are pragmactic: it boost cells production => boost the risk of mutations => and cancer .. => If no one gives me a clear answer, i dont think i miss a lot to buy a mask which emits less radiance and using it less frequently. Moreover in one video you say that moisturizers are useless.. However, if you have a good amount of emollient in your mosturizer, or if you put , your humectants before your oil, the humectants should be trapped. I must admit that im doubting about your content. Maybe you should be more clear, give more studies( facts, possible consequences , and what is about your opinion) , give an analysis of the product directly. I m more lost now than before... It is just a feedback, and i share my insecurities, dont take it personally. Thank you, for your videos even so. You still open my mind on a set of issues about health. Im sorry for my english, im french.

Hi ! I was wondering what you thought of Celluma devices since they’re CE marked ? Thanks !
@Dr_Abs
@Dr_Abs 9 ай бұрын
Medical CE is what you want to look for, not CE. Cellular doesn't make sense to me - they talk about needing less distance but the body doesn't are about distance because photoreceptors dont react differently based on how far the radiation has come from. Therefore the only real metric there that's needed is power and it has much less than dermalux
@stevenbaker8816
@stevenbaker8816 6 ай бұрын
@@Dr_Abs your not taking into account the inverse square law, if you are positioned too far away from the light source the energy of light reduces as the photons travel through space, it's physics. More power does not equal greater efficacy, you can actually deliver too much power. Cellular responses follow the biphasic dose response.
@Dr_Abs
@Dr_Abs 6 ай бұрын
I have taken it into account. You haven't taken into account the ability of the receptor to respond independently. The law also doesn't link to opticians distribution. The distance away is taken into account when designing the device - a device further away can give more power as we can see already on the market.

Do you have an opinion about the new theraface LED mask? Might it get around the proximity issue by the number of LED lights embedded in the mask?
@Dr_Abs
@Dr_Abs 9 ай бұрын
No because the number increasing introduces a new issue of thermal management which they haven't solved. The LEDs themselves also have less accurate spectral widths compared to something like the dermalux. This is a fact and something even theraface cant deny
@sherylzimmer802

Also, I was just looking at the Theraface clinical trial. i dont see any safety issues reported and they do show a statistically significant improvement on several metrics related to skin appearance. Would love your thoughts on that study. Do you know if Dermalux home has a clinical trial completed on their device? I can also call them and ask.
@Dr_Abs
@Dr_Abs 9 ай бұрын
It's not a safety issue - it's an issue of getting what you pay for. When excess heat builds up and disrupts optimal functioning, by the time you're towards the end of treatment it's barely doing anything because optical intensity is reduced so much. Dermalux maintains peak output start to finish time after time which can be proved which is why I use it. The spectral width speaks about the ability to actually produce the wavelength Intended. For instance it might say 633nm on the box but it could be putting out a load of 590nm because it's so inaccurate. Whereas in Dermalux, I know the worst I'll get is 631 or 635 (+/-2nm). The fact that many companies don't publish stats like this are a clear and obvious sign to qualified people like myself that it's a load of rubbish. Unfortunately the general public don't know, which is why I make videos like this 😊
@Dr_Abs
@Dr_Abs 9 ай бұрын
The 'study' by theraface is laughable. All dependent variables were measured subjectively and no proof was provided by way of histological analyses. This is typical of a company that puts more into marketing than science and tries to fool the public with it in my opinion.
