The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that all adults aged 45 to 75 years be screened for colorectal cancer. But some people need to be screened earlier. STAT general assignment reporter Nicholas St. Fleur got himself screened at age 29 and tells us why it’s important for African-Americans and people with a family history of colorectal cancer to get a colonoscopy.
