I am a Korean legal alien residing in the US. Before I came to the US, I didn’t understand why guns are allowed in this country. But learning the history and the capitalistic society we live in, the founding fathers of the US got this down right! It doesn’t only allow you to protect physically yourself & family, it is the symbol of freedom and the will to stand against any enemy whether it is your own tyrannical government or the external threats from foreign soil. All the other countries come from the monarchs, whereas USA was found by immigrated people who seek freedom and equality achieved by their own hands. This is why the US is the strongest economy, one of the most free country in this world to date. Don’t take this granted. Of course this country has flaws as well, but don’t disregard the spirit and the wisdom which built this country’s foundation and today. I am a music lover, I enjoy most of national anthems of all nations around the globe, but everytime when I hear the lyrics, “home of braves and the land of free”, I get goosebumps. And again, I am not even an US citizen. My only wish for this country is that they act as a caring brother to lead the world to not for power domination, but to spread this free spirit and rights you enjoy today.

This is the important thing to recognize here. Many young people are not hopeless or permanently stupid and ignorant, and they deserve some patience and leeway when it comes to teaching these things. If someone had horrible math teachers in elementary school, it's not reasonable for a middle school teacher to judge that student for their inability to do proportions or algebra. The mere fact this person was willing to take time out of her day to sit and chat is reason for hope. The more of these interactions that can happen, the more minds can be improved, and the better the future will be.

Aussie here. Our homicide rates didn't change. Nor did our rates of gun violence. Both began falling some 10 years before the ban/buyback, and continued to fall (without a significant change in rate, infact it started to slow, though its probably not causal) after the buyback in 1997. Suicide too - there was a massive, new campaign by the gov to reduce suicide and offer greater mental health support around he same time... so hard to isolate the effects there to the buyback. Anyone can look up the ABS statistics on this. its freely available, and quite clear.

Australia’s gun deaths have now surpassed the pre-ban numbers. What these total type bans demonstrate is that the solution doesn’t exist in an outright ban, but within the actions of increasing access to mental health care, increasing the budget and responsibilities for law enforcement/CBSA to increase anti-gang/drug and smuggling. These concepts have been to show that this is a better solution. One of the responsibilities in a reasonable democracy for the citizen is to maintain its watch over the govt to prevent it from becoming corrupt and tyrannical. Hence, why a true liberal understands why firearms ownership is such an important aspect while participating in the democratic process. Since this recent ban in Canada, crime rates have increased by 32%.

All this "Good guys with guns stop bad guys" is nothing but lies and BS excuses for uneducated, ignorant people who just want guns to feel tough and act like they matter in some way. Look at the ATF's sudden change to make pistol braces NFA items, which literally forces millions of owners to pay for a $200 tax stamp or become a felon overnight because they suddenly changed how they define 'pistol', 'rifle', and 'short barreled rifle'. Wow so nice seeing a younger person be able to have a logical conversation on a topic they have strong opinions about and may not agree with on the topic. This young lady is very smart and ahead of her years and I respect her for being so respectful and listening to Steve rather then getting mad and butthurt. Love videos like this we need to have these conversations with people more often!

Yep and i was in the comments section of a very left leaning video the other day, and they call him a troll. Ben Shapiro as well. But they can only wish they had half the intelligence of either. Every comment on that video was from some kid who just uses really big words in an attempt to sound smart, however they have no idea what they were talking about and you can tell, easily. It was sad really. I had hoped to find at least a few that made their point well and without being condescending, but i was highly disappointed. I try and listen to both sides even though I disagree so i don't end up in a bubble, but man, that was difficult to watch and read.

I live in Melbounre Australia, and believe me when I got locked in my house for 18 months during COVID lockdowns I certainly wanted a gun. Not to say I would have used the gun at all, but the simple fact of the public having weapons would prevent such dramatic infringements on liberty.

the entire population was armed during their lockdown, they've brainwashed them with guns on their hands. you don't need weapons of high caliber to fight off a tyrannical government. here in the EU we do well without weapons, trust... remember the people are numbers, therefore you should vote with your money, do mass boycott, riots and demonstrations, play with the law not break it... wreak havoc
