This plan by Haazen is basically the same plan Sheev Palpatine/Darth Sidious would use thousands of years later. For all we know, Palpatine learned of this tale and created his own version of it to destroy the Jedi and the Republic. A clear example of the Jedi NOT learning from the failures of the past.

Yoda failed because The Council ignored the visions about feature, they ignored Yoda's visions, dead younglings. Just like Kenobi ignoring Anakin's vision about Kamino's attack , in republic series If I am remembering correctly. The most basic and important rule of the jedi is "there is only the force", the force guides The Jedi. While other rules, other rules always change, changed during force wars, changed during post endor. Ah yes, of course, the prequels jedi ignored the vision, they said we can trust the clones and you all guys saw what happened, Kenobi said "anAkin dOnt tRuSt viSionS" and the attack happened lmao. In this case, if the vision was true and the jedi didn't give up their own rules, didn't do anything and destroyed, the fandom would react by saying "the stupid jedi ended up following their own rules in a bigoted way". Just like what happened in TCW. That's what happens when they try to take measures against the Vision. This time the Jedi are brutal. I don't think it's either, I think it's understandable, even if I don't think it's exactly right, considering what the Jedi went through.

This has turned out to be one of the greatest stories w/n the lore of the SW Universe IMHO. It peers into the past, present and future. With more than just a few lessons in place. It's one story of lore which should be remembered and revisited in your mind as you work though questions on how you would handle similar situations as a Jedi. From the many points of view.

I imagine an alternate scenario where these Jedi still concluded their Padawans’ deaths was the only hope for the Galaxy, but they then carried it out in a way that better reflected this belief: You have your padawans in a room where escape isn’t realistic, and lay it all out. First, ask them if they would die to prevent the return of the Sith. Odds are, all would say “Of course.” Then be very frank and open about your shared visions, conclusions, and what you believe must happen. Acknowledge that you accept most of them are likely innocent, and intend to remember them as heroes, not traitors. Again ask if the padawans are willing to make this sacrifice. Likely, at least some still would. After all, they aren’t little kids. They’re old enough for potential knighthood. But if some beg for their lives, you must let them speak. If you expect these kids to die for the sake of the galaxy, you better at *least* be willing to endure the emotional brutality of letting them beg you not to. But maybe some of the padawans even try to get their peers to understand. All of them, whether they submit to death or beg for their lives, are given the dignity of knowing why you’re doing this. Let each of them choose the manner of their deaths. Then return to the Jedi Temple with their bodies, present the recordings of the entire ordeal, and declare the padawans heroes. And THEN you relinquish all your authority, submit yourself to the punishment of the Jedi Order, and make it clear you won’t resist if the sentence is death. If you believed your innocent padawans had to die, you better be willing to face the same. Anything less than this makes you, not a Jedi making an incredibly hard decision, but a coward. Which is how it played out in the real story. Nothing about the methods of these Jedi suggested they were doing the right thing.

There are many lines about the dangers of seeing the future. One of the less common ones I remember from a book in The Death's Gate series. It was along the lines of "You should never peer into the future. When you discover a prophecy, whether you are conscious of it or not, you are inadvertently fulfilling it".

I remember reading this series as a teenager, it’s by far my favorite story arc in Star Wars. We’re so used to the powerful, deftly skilled, prodigal Jedi, so Zayne Carrick being marginally force sensitive, a below par warrior, yet in his own, unconventional way, being inadvertently powerful was refreshing. And the additions of his band of misfits and seemingly OP adversaries made it even more rich of a tale. I love how it seamlessly tied the characters from the Knights of the Old Republic video games into the storyline. The craziest part is that it technically featured 3 Sith Lords. This was Star Wars at its best, canon has nothing on legends continuity!

The concept for Star Wars is far more spiritually applicable (and scientifically possible) than people think. We have learned (or relearned; that's another discussion) that the universe is composed of elements (atoms) of various types (like iron), and unstable types (nobelium; 58m half-life on Earth), that all behave in different ways relative to each other (compound bonding) or alone (decay). We have also learned that the constituent parts (particles) are made of entirely smaller components (quarks). Here's a really cool consideration: Every single quark, particle, atom, compound, planet, and galaxy is held together by 'collective electromagnetism'. We can call it gravity for now; it has worked for over 100 years. But it is not 'quite' right because 'As above, so below' means just that: Scalar/magnitudinal design. I rather consider gravity to be an electromagnetic effect on an 'order of magnitude' higher to (and thus NOT regulated by) the weak/strong electromagnetic forces. This concept makes perfect sense if you understand the Hermetic wisdom our ancient ancestors left us (Pyramids are structures of ever-smaller parts: components make levels make levels make levels, scaling up forever; the Flower of Life is an ever-expanding geometric concept of growth; Sacred Geometry and Metatron's cube: The secret to mega-constructs is 'harmonic' constructs that harmonize together, such as your cells, or the matrix of a crystal, or the layers of an electromagnetic field....equilibrium/balance. In 'Skyriver' (a name I read once for Star Wars' home galaxy) the overall elemental composition of the galaxy (and thus the overall and collective electromagnetic fields) would be vastly different than our galaxy. Tere could be 5% more plutonium-rich dwarf stars in pairs, heavy stars that consume each other's fuel and go super nova in even MORE dense elements that we do not have in the Milky Way yet, at least in abundance, because the galactic magnetic field is weaker than Skyriver. If Skyriver had a major abundance of heavy elements, and thus a much stronger galactic magnetic field, then it would capture more ambient electrons from the cosmic void than other galaxies, and enable more energizes electromagnetic fields. All of the life in this galaxy would develop consciousness far more easily! Modern science is beginning to pin down that consciousness is some sort of piggyback effect of the subtle-energy within an electromagnetic field; our consciousness resides between 4hz for dull wakefulness and 41 hz for higher critical thinking; when our environment (the Schumann Resonance standing modes at 7.86, 14, 21, 28, 34, 41* hz) is energized these modes become active, and our brains 'couple' to those modes the same way magnetic coupling at the poles of the Earth works because we have billions of magnetite crystals in our brains. I.e., consciousness is a 'resonance of the subtle energies of the electromagnetic field, or a rogue wave'. In Skyriver, the depth of consciousness dips all the way down to a subcellular level: the mido-chlorian existence is in harmony with the cellular world it resides in, vibrating to the same frequency as the being it inhabits. This allows for the resonance of their collective voice to be heard, and draw the larger body's consciousness towards the sub-cellular vibrational level of 'The Force': the electromagnetic force. Weird, huh? Just high today I guess.

You left out one thing in this video and the subsequent one - the message Zayne gave them that described a vision he had - it was fake. He never had a vision. It was something he and The Gryph cooked up to deliver to the Jedi Masters to confuse them and to give them second thoughts long enough for Zayne and the others to go into hiding. Ironically, the false vision ended up coming to pass, and as The Gryph put it, it was because those five made it come to pass.

All time based plots are bad by default. Trying to change the past creates nonsensical paradoxes. Trying to prevent the future only causes it, making the story boringly predictable. Time based abilities are fine in short term but will inevitably ruin a plot if focused on. I beg of anybody to prove me wrong.
